So I'm a new Provari user and loving it so far.

I have a cartomator tank and a handful of Boge 2.0 and 3.0s that I've been using. Problem is that after about two refills or so, I start getting a lot of error messages and can see the carto's resistance drop before my eyes. It almost looks like the scorebook for a Bad News Bears game with all the E-1s, E-2s, E-4s, and E everything else. :)

I only use Halo juices and keep the 3.0s at around 4.8v and the 2.0s at around 4.0.

This happens with my pre-punched cartos as well as the ones that I'm punching with a saddle valve.

Am I missing something? I always lower the voltage when the errors come up but it doesn't seem right to have to babysit these things so quickly.

I haven't tried any Boge's with my provari, having just got it (and having a plethora of smoktek stuff that i've been collecting/hoarding lol), but I have yet to see any of the E* codes on my ProVari, and have suffered a few carto failures (mostly just burning through the wick tube) as well as seen a few get pretty high resistance values once they started getting gunked up coils.

I've used 1.5 dual coil, 2.0 dual coil, 2.5 dual coil, and 3.0 single coil (all smoktek) with no issues so far. I tend to run the 2.0's and higher all at about 4.0v, and the 1.5s at 3.4-3.7v, so not as high voltage as you use.

You're receiving errors ABOVE E-2? I've never received an error higher than 2 with voltage changes. I'll have to look it up. If I'd have to guess something is shorting due to the resistance change lol. That definitely shouldn't happen.

I would agree that something is shorting. I can get 7 - 10 days easily with multiple fills. I tend to cycle 3 - 4 tanks and out of ease change them about every 7 days in cycle. I only get errors when using rebuildables and once i lower the voltage it fixes itself. E1 or e2 is not that uncommon. i have never gotten the others.

When you refill your tank are you also toping off your cartos? You should not be getting error codes using such low voltage settings. When I am running a 3.0ohm boge carto in my tank I have my provari set at 5.8V and have never got an error-unless the carto is acting up. When your getting the error what is your carto reading?

On occasion I get a bad carto that my provari just doesn't like and I have to toss it.
I usually use a 2.0ohm dualcoil in a tank. I buy the prepunched and I still make 2 more slots with my dremel. That way it stays wet in the tank. I only top it off when I refill my tank.
I also use a new carto every other day. I just love the way a fresh carto vapes, but thats just me. Most people use cartos a lot longer with no error codes.

I would contact provape if your problems persist.

I use boge 3 ohm cartos in my tanks and they last forever. I do not top off when I refill the tank. I usually change out my cartos every couple of weeks, I then clean them and use them for another couple of weeks. I have never got an error with my boge. Are you sure you didn't get a bad batch. I have only ever gotten 1 dud cartomizer. Perhaps I am just lucky.
I use phiniac tanks with the stainless steel end caps. I use a saddle valve and punch 2 holes .....I make my holes fairly big. At least 1 full turn of the saddle valve handle after I hear the initial pop.
I do have some dual coil smoke tech and I punch 3 holes in those.....2 at the bottom and one just a bit higher.

I have many Cartomator Tanks and I use mostly 2.0 ohm cartos on mine and have never got an error. I use them for atleast a week sometimes 2 before I swap it out for a new one. I would say you have a bad batch of cartos or there is something wrong with the PV..

-Leaning more towards the cartos but of course I could wrong..

Overall/MatrixTech,

Would you mind giving the specifics of the juice you are using? e.i. color, how dark it is, pg/vg, how many milliliters you use before changing the cartomizer.

Currently rotate 2 Cartomator tanks (around 3.5-4ml) and for awhile now my all day vape is H Torque56 which is light tan in color, I would guess the ratio is around 70/30 pg/vg.
I also always have a 2 nd tank around that I rotate with, it's HV Carnival 50/50 ratio.(darker brown) Both tanks I use Boge 2.0ohm and punch 2 wholes (carto puncher w/carbide tip) on opposite end on the carto. I generally don't go much more than 2 weeks before tossing the cartos, I've also found they get leaky around that point. The Torque56 I refill daily and the Carnival I top off every other day...mostly 24mg, sometimes 18mg..

-IMO these Boge cartos can easily go over 2 weeks, flavor and performance deminishes over time so 2 weeks is the max for me..

My provari gives an AO reading that 'jumps' after a moment with the smoktek cartos; I also experienced two failures out of the box with them today, one of which was a disconnected wick tube that immediately started dumping when I put the tank upright, and have decided not to buy any more. I'm ready to try some boge, I'll punch em myself at this point, but the lifespan and quality of the smokteks is no longer acceptable to me..

I'm wondering if there's a bad bunch of 3.0 ohm boge's floating around... I have been running one for less than a couple days, in a mom and pops mini sub and today, halfway through it's second fill I received an E-1 error. Found this post, checked to cart's resistance and it's now reading 2.0. It was reading 3.0 - I'm using a 50/50 juice if it matters.
It was the one that came in the tank, I'm going to punch a new one and see if it does it again.
