I currently use T3's but find that the life of the heads is less than stellar. And I don't use gunky juices at all. Mostly 70/30 tobacco based juices. I clean them properly on a regular basis but still never the same. I find I get longer life out of my disposable T4's.

So I was wondering what kind of life you guys are all getting from your Triton heads. How long before they usually need cleanings, how are they after cleanings and how many cleanings you can get before they are done.

Thinking about switching over to these but if life is about the same it is pointless. I already have like 9 T3 mini tanks. No sense of building up another arsenal.

I've only used Halo liquid in my two Triton tanks, Tribeca and Turkish. I generally clean the heads every 7-8 fills, a quick warm water rinse, then a bath in HOT distilled water, and a soak in Vodka for a couple hours. Good as new! After three months with these Tritons I have yet had one fail or leak.

So your heads still work like new after 3 months??? Wow sounds like the life I get out of my T4 disposables. These things keep going and going.

They're a great product for sure, I've replaced one head so far, but that was my error. After a cleaning they are kinda weak for
about half a tank, I am surprised at their longevity considering you can't dry burn them.

Good to know. Think I may order a few and a pack of heads and give them a try.

Been using mine for about two months now. Started with 2, now I rotate through 6, with 5 spare heads.

I rinse them in tap hot water, then dunk them in near boiling water. Blow dry them (can of compressed air) then put on a spare head, so I can use them right away.

I often move the wick within the coil, so the burnt bit isn't sitting in the coil. I've got one head that I'm considering retiring, but if I can figure out how to replace the wick, I'll just pull out the existing wick, do a dry burn, re-wick it, and it should be good to go.

The top wick is easily replaced, but the wick in the coil is a bit trickier.

The trick to cleaning, is taking the coil apart, in its 4 pieces; the body, the plastic sleeve, the round metal tip, and the top wick. Squeeze the wicks in hot water to get most of the old juice out.

I usually clean mine after 6-8 fills (3-4 days)...completely disassemble, rinse in hot water, soak just the wick part without the plastic sleeve in everclear, rinse again, then dry burn. I use mostly light flavored fruit juices. I did pop one coil doing a dry burn. I can do this 3-4 times before I find the performance degrading. To be clear, I don't solely use the Halo refills. I use some standard short wick T2 heads (1.8 ohms) from a variety of sources...so YMMV.

I have one Triton coil that needs to be "re-wicked" as it was too frayed to be re-used. But the coil is just fine. Does anyone know how many millimeters the Triton wick is? Also, what is the method to "thread" a new wick into an existing coil? I have seen several methods including using a beading needle but this was usually done to a DIY coil that is not installed in the atomizer......

There are many different wicks out there with many different prices. I wish to experiment! :toast:

Maybe I didn't tilt enough...I pour the left over juice out than ran them/soaked in warm water but could not get the water out. I shook them, blew into them and held them upside down. Nothing..water was literally stuck in them. It was weird. I've cleaned others w/out issues but one was like gunked up.

I dry mine with a hair-dryer.
I wonder if that would be worth a shot next time ?
