i just bought an epower from madvapes. i love having a standard, non-proprietary battery. this thing is awesome, long battery life between charges to. i no longer have the need to take extra batteries with me to work. anyways, i was wondering how long i can expect these batteries to last before they no longer hold a charge, being charged once a day? are they more reliable then a traditional e-cig battery that is a battery and switch in one package? next time i order juice im going to order 1 extra battery just so i have an extra on hand.

I received my e-power the first part of may and the batteries show no sign of slowing down yet. I try to use my two ego batteries some to keep them going but most of the time I'm using the e-power. Hopefully some one will chime in that has used the 14650 until it died and can give us a better idea on their longevity, but in general, yes, they should last much longer than the traditional e-cig batteries. I'm thinking they should last about the same as the 14500 and other batteries in that range.

Edit: I couldn't find the info for the 14650, but the 14500 is often listed as 300 charge cycles.

i hope you are right. i was using a riva 510, which was ok but those batteries would die for no reason. sometimes they would just kick the bucket with no apparent reason for failure. i would say that if you had the same batteries since may, thats doing quite well. i think the operating cost of the epower might be significantly less than other pv's if the batteries are more reliable and cheaper. i think its a win win here and the epower is well worth the 40 bucks

I don't think anybody can really answer the question if you're asking about the generic batteries that come in the kit. The cycle ratings are probably about as accurate as the mAH ratings. That being said, the E-power does shut down once the voltage drops to a certain level and this level seems to be in the safe range so no worries about taking them too low and hurting them. They are also protected so this is backup saafety for the low and high side. I have extras but haven't had any problems so far. The more batts you have in rotation the less cycles they will go through per week/month/year.... I did have one of the switch modules go bad, luckily I had a spare so no vaping time was lost. I'd highly recommend picking one of them up unless you've got good backup PV's.

I'm not an expert on batteries by any means. Seems like most of the batteries claim 300 cycles. Kind of a catch all, since it can vary due to your use of the battery anyway. If you recharge it before it cuts out, that's supposedly a good thing.... then again, charging it is what wears them out in the 1st place. Also, hi amp draw is supposedly another stresser.

So it varies. OTOH, think about it this way.... you already have 2 batteries. If they last the average of 300 charges at one charge = one vape day, that's 20 months of vaping on the two batteries you already have. At what, $10-$15 per set, that's dang cheap so who cares? Just pick up an extra battery for rotation and to cover accidents and you're set for two years. By then, another battery technology with xx times the capacity will come out anyway.

i cant complain about a battery lasting a year or more. the batteries i was using would only last 1 or 2 months on average. i dont know if the batteries were failing or if it was the switch but they seemed very sensitive, they were the 510 riva batteries. when those batteries failed you had to replace both the battery and the switch as 1 unit and they were $12+ every time they failed

Most likely it was the electronics in the switch that failed.
