I've been looking at the e power 14650 pv as a replacement for the dreaded time when my beloved ego batts die off. Just wanna be ready, so I'm checking out a bunch of options, this being one of them.

The batts are 3.7v 14650 1050mah protected batteries.

I was looking for replacement batts on ebay for a cheaper pricetag. I have found quite a few Trustfire 14650 protected batts, but they all say 1600mah, not 1050mah like the description of the one that come with e power. Also found some chargers that will charge 2 14650's at the same time. They are a lot less expensive than the extra batts or chargers from madvapes or Hoosiersupply.

Can these be used, or are the e power batts proprietary?

e-power batteries are not proprietary. That said, there's a lot of debate on what types of batteries (for e-cig mods in general) are best. Those should work tho. Some swear by the hi drain AW IMR batteries. Others go by price and such.

As a side note, I hear there's a e-power v2 out now (or right about now). IDK the diff.

The new e-power you are talking about is maybe the one that uses 18650s? They are much bigger.

I just ordered an e-power as well, and from what I've read... they will be making modular upgrades for it. They will be releasing a switch-replacement that will let you do Variable Voltage... and I've also heard rumors of a 5v switch as well.

I bought mine off of ebay. The 14650 1600 mah batteries and YES they DO work on the E-power. I bought 1 set at 4.99 and got a total of 3 sets for 15.00. Can't beat the price on ebay. I was looking for longer vaping on a single battery.

The NoEgo and E-Power parts are interchangable. The NoEgo site offers an adaptor if you want to use ego tanks on them. I'm not sure if you'd gain much using hi drain betteries, the E-Powers are regulated. Might just be voltage reg'd not sure about current. The units work great even with LR atty's and DC cartos.

The 14670 may fit. It's 2mm longer (67mm vs. 65mm) and there's very little play in the spring with the 14650 in there from what I can tell. I'd be grateful if you wanted to be the guinea pig, though! :)

That said, there is an IMR 14650 available (here), it's just manufactured by BDL rather than AW. Should still be a big step up quality-wise over the stock batts.
