How does the lifespan of clearos, CE3, Nano, etc. compare to the life of regular cartomizers? I've never used anything but cartos and I keep thinking about taking the plunge and trying some alternatives, but I guess what I'm hung up on is figuring out which type of alternative offers the best combination of simplicity (I really need carto type zero-fuss ease of use) and cost effectiveness ... I have several X2 bats of various sizes - what "carto alternative" would you suggest?

ok.....this is a hard thread to answer to.....cause its a double sword answer.....straight to the point I don't like carts...reasons......for me....don't like taste...I forget to fill....I hate counting drops.....they make my thoart and taste buds play up.....but if there was nothing else available of course id deal wth them...better then going back to smellys...I love these nanos & clearos..the whole idea of them agrees with me....nanos for my small bats...clearos for my big bats....but....they can have issues with leaking.....some say flavour problems with nanos.... clearos...also have a few problems with leaking....but with the flavour warm vape.. I get from clearos..I so want these clearos to work....theres a t3 clearo coming soon.....and most reviews Ive watched ...and got the word in here...there good.... so ive answerd honestly...I love si products....and I believe for me and others who will agree...who want to stay loyal...theres going to be a light at the end of the tunnel....and these nanos will be the best for small bats... t3s for clearos for the x2s....my :2c:....my story....

If you really need minimum maintenance, the carto is the best. CE3, and clearo both require cleaning out once in a while. The syringe filling for CE3 is really not hard. After the first few, it is really easy. Overall, I have had a few issues with CE3's burning out on me. But I really love both. I keep a couple of cartos handy for emergency only now.

The added convenience is you can always see how much juice there is. With the cartos, I was always scratching my head. Is the battery almost dead? Is the juice out? Is there something wrong? Also, when filling cartos, you have drip some in, wait and let it settle, drip some more in, let it settle. Now that I think about it, I think the syringe is easier than the carto. But that is subjective.

I've never used a carto to the end of its life, but from what I've seen here on ECF it's probably on the order of a month or more of contiuous use, especially SI cartos. SI cartos are probably among the best. Their clearos, from a batch I bought back in July, are just wearing out while ones I ordered a mnth ago are already failing, it seems something has changed. My favorite is the CE3 and they last for months if cleaned regularly. The Nano is a disposable and there is no way to effectively clean it. From what I've read here on ECF their lifespan seems to vary quite a bit, from a few days to about a month.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warranty or guaranty is expressed or implied.

For something that's a carto like fill, you'd want either a X2 clearo or a nano. Both of those are just screw off the mouthpiece and fill them up. Ce3 is a syringe fill so it does take a tad more time. The clearo holds the most juice. All will fit on either a volt or X2.

I've used all 3. The clearos are sturdy and wuick and easy to fill but because of the long wicks can cause juice separation. CE3 have great flavor but are not as quick to fill as a clearo. The nano is quick and easy with good flavor but because its basically a mini carto tank you cant easily change flavor because of the poly fill inside. Ce3 and clearo can be rinsed out to be cleaned and switch flavors.

They all can have leaking issues once in awhile. All can drip a drop of condensation on to the battery head.

Honestly they're all great juice delivery devices. If you have the finances I'd get some of each to try and see for yourself what you like best.

Non syringe with the ability to rinse I'd say x2 clearo.

If you don't mind a syringe and wanna rinse ce3.

If you can deal with not being able to rinse out go with the nano.

Edited to add going from a carto to something else isn't as scary and pita as it sounds.

I rinse my nanos..vinegar then hot water and lettem dry for a couple days (if I had a heating pad, I'd dry them on it) blow any of them out really well though. Most of my flavors are similar so changing nano flavor isn't that big a deal. I wash them out because I use VG and it gunks things up quicker.

I have all three.. cartos.. nanos and clearos. I like the nano's best for filling. The center post sticks up above the tank side and I drip the juice down the outside of that post.. easy peasy. The clearos you have to put the bottle top inside the top to avoid the draw tube - not really a hassle, but the nano's are easier in that respect.
Cartos.. I use them.. I think I waste juice with them. I'm never sure when they're full unless they drip out the bottom (don't fill them while on your batteries)

I really like the CE3's, but struggle to use them for more than about a week before they start leaking too much for me. In fact, I've never had one 'die', but they wind up leaking liquid far too much for me to keep using and I wind up tossing them. I think the outer shell and seals are a bit finicky, and any blemish or stress causes the leaks.

my self i don't understand the ce3s leaking problems,in about 30 plus i have had one leak out completely in a 24 hr. period.

they will leak out the top a little from the needle hole as it wares from use,but a q-tip swab once every few hours cures that.

i guess i am missing some thing here with all this talk about ce3s leaking,,,if you have had this problem,,you must have got a bad batch.

i have never had this problem ,but once,,,,go figure.

I feel the same way aboot the Nanos. Everyone says they leak but I've never had a leaky one. I had one break once though.

I have all three so far no problems with any of them. No leaks. The ce3 I used for a week with one flavor. The nano I have used for three weeks. The clearo I just started using. Out of the three, the nano i like the best with the regular batteries. Now anybody chime in on this, but the nano really wakes up when I use the 1300mAh x2. Later I'm going to try using the ce3 on the x2. Hope it does not burn out!!!!!!!

Nano, used two, one leaked itself dry, just sitting on a paper towel on the second fill. Both tatsed like vaping dirty socks. CE3s, have used probably 30 by now. Had two leak for no reason I could find and several other leak because of a bad inner seal which I replaced. Game, set, match to the CE3.

I ordered some nanos to go with the 65mm Volt I ordered for my sister. Of course, I set everything up for her, and I tried it to make sure everything was working. It appears that even these newest nanos have some kind of primer fluid or something in them -- nasty tasting. So I dumped out my ejuice, gave it a quick rinse, let it dry, and refilled it. I tried it on both my X2's, 650 & 900 mah. I did not like it at all on either of those -- little taste and almost no throat hit. But it worked great on the little 65mm shortie I bought for my sister. I admit it could have just as much to do with the juice I used as the nano itself.

I really think it's totally personal preference. Lots of people just LOVE the CE-3's, but I prefer the X2 clearos for both taste and throat hit. All of them, IMO, suffer from inconsistent quality control. Like many other things made on an assembly line, some work perfectly right out of the box, and some are just duds. We're all hoping that the soon-to-be-released T-3 will be the perfect device. But I will still keep cartomizers as my emergency back-up.

I suggest you try all of them (with the same juice) to figure out which is best for you.

Except I didn't really answer the OP question of which lasts longer. With the inconsistency of seals falling out, leaks, etc., I'd have to say that cartos last longer, but that's only from my own experience. I'm still using the same 2 original clearos that I rec'd Oct. 9th, plus I still have CE-3s that are older, so I don't really know the longevity of any of these things.

In the past I have used the same cartomizers for several months; of course, I had several in rotation. But I don't yet have that experience with CE-3s or nanos or the X2 clearos.

I have nano's in service since the middle of October - a bunch of them.. some are currently drying though. So far no leaks or cracks. I do pay very close attention to getting the tops back on fast (must be a gravity thing there cuz they say to do that) and also I make sure they're on really snug.
A couple of them are tighter draws than the others and it looks like the gap between the cylinder and the post is narrower on those - QC problem.. not SI's doing... I did have one that they - the manufacturer forgot to punch the two little draw holes in.. SI did replace that one - so I got to take one apart and see how it works! I wouldn't have done that to something that works.

I bought two Nanos recently, filled one up once, and after unscrewing the top and rinsing some liquid out the clear outer shell seperated from the rest of the unit. I attempted to put back in place, but it still leaked a little at the point it matched the metal base. Threw it away.

I had a CE3 in the keyring case you can get on SI's site filled for work. About half way through my shift I opened up my case to use it and found NO liquid inside the CE3! It had totally leaked out onto my supplies in the case. I inspected it, and didn't see any cracks or seal issues, unsure what caused that. Threw it away, too. Using RY4 from SI, nothing problematic with the liquid. I had kept the keyring case in my laptop bag, so it wasn't like I stressed it in my pocket or anything, either.

As to the original thread - going on week 3 with a carto, I would say they last the longest IMO.

I normally use SI bland cartomizers and mine have lasted now for two months of rotating usage. I clean them about once a week by boiling for 15 minutes, blowing them out and letting them dry overnight. No problems what so ever. I bought one Nano and posted somewhere else that the flavor was muted but good vapor. Well after using it for a couple of days, the flavor is just great now, no leaks, and I have refilled it three or four times. My warning to those who are using the new Nanos and find that they leak, is to make sure the two tiny clear O rings are still in place. One is on the center tube at the top, and the second is inside of the mouthpiece. I believe these are absolutely necessary in order to form the seal and avoid leaks. When I first got my Nano, and took off the top I almost lost the tiny clear O ring which was on the center post. I saw it come off and found it on the floor. I am hoping that my Nano will last at least a month, and if it does, I might order more.

You are starting to like nano's and I'm starting to like carto's. After reading some of the posts in various forum threads, I realized that I was not filling the carto's completely or topping off enough, allowing them to dry out quicker. Now I really soaked my carto's, let the juice settle then topped off again let them sit a while longer. The vape has been incredible! Flavor so much better... no muted taste like sucking juice through cotton! I'm glad that I can now use my collection of carto's... especially when I'm around family who are uncomfortable with actually seeing the liquid in the clear devices. My least favorite device now is the CE3.
