Light Cigs and Travel Help

Hi everyone. I’m excited to try this out, but I would like some guidance please. I’ve read the stickies and a few threads, so I think I have an idea of what direction I should go…

I typically smoke out of boredom or to help me concentrate, particularly at work. I smoke Carltons, a light cigarette at .1 mg, and even Marlboro Ultralights make me a little sick. I used to be at a pack a day, but I’ve been at about 1/2 pack for the past year, and sometimes even go a few days without smoking at all. Historically I’m a smoke ‘em if ya got ‘em kind of guy. I think this translates to a cooler VP with a light throat hit, and so far all I’ve seen is the 801. I also feel like I should get no-nicotine juice, since I’m used to very light cigs and smoking in general makes me feel lousy. I saw the thread on cutting the nicotine strength and might try that.

My work makes the accessory selection difficult. I’m the TV biz and I'm leaving in 3 weeks to travel through Europe for my next gig. I’ll be living in hotels and working 12 to 14 hour days. I imagine a car charger and/or USB charger is in order as well as a smaller kit for travel purposes. I’ll be traveling for 5 to 6 weeks, so I would need supplies to last through the long days and the time away from home. I have no clue how much juice I would need, or if there is anything else that I should consider but am unaware of, like battery life or product longevity in general. I plan on ordering the basics asap to test the new equipment and flavors and then placing a big order just before I leave.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Is it possible that the other 4000+ chemicals in analogs is what makes you feel lousy when you smoke?

In your case, definitely get some low nic juice (6mg should work). The thing to keep in mind when cutting it is flavor loss, so maybe if you're planning on getting 0-nic anyway, get it in the same flavor as the 6mg so you can cut it as much as you want with no flavor loss.

It's hard to judge how much juice you need. Most people end up vaping much more often than they smoked. I was a pack a day smoker, and I go through 1-2ml/day. When I started vaping it was more like 3ml. Some people around here go through 10ml/day, others can make 1ml last a week. My point is that it varies a lot from person to person, and doesn't necessarily align with previous smoking habits.

All that said, you'll probably want 90ml for a 6 week trip. The first 60ml is what I think you'll actually need, and the last bottle is just in case. :)

Welcome to the forums!

Just a follow up in case anyone has similar questions... I was very happy with a Joye 510 during my travels. Four batteries, 6 atomizers and 90ml of juice did the trick. The personal charging case was invaluable. These days I use my passthrough very often and it burns through juice much faster than my 510. 90ml lasts me only 2 or 3 weeks. Thank you to those offering advice.

Another thing to consider is that this equipment -- at least from what I've heard -- is more widely available in Europe. Perhaps you'll run into a few suppliers who can hook you up out there? Might be worth doing a quick Google search for. Just my .02.

Good luck, and happy travels. :)
