Hey, fellow Reonauts.

Joined the club on Friday, with an LP Grand topped by an RM2, and my wife is so impressed she already wants to jump on the bandwagon.

The RM2 suits my/our taste just fine: tightish draw, single coil running at about 1 - 1.4 ohms, 28 ga to take the abuse of hauling Rayon wick through it.

Before I order one for my girl, I'd like to know more about the other Reomizer on offer. Rob doesn't go into a lot of detail on his website, so thought I'd ask the experts/true believers. What I/we would mostly want is a little roomier build deck, same draw, same single coil setup, same low profile or, if possible, lower. I'm guessing they all take a standard 510 drip tip (yes/no?) which we prefer over novelty styles.

Any thoughts/comparisons/advice would be much appreciated!

Blind Owl

p.s. My new LP reminds me of my (very) old Troy Bilt rototiller: simple, reliable, chugs forever. Good scores, both! Huge thanks to super_x_drifter for his successful propaganda work!:rickroll:

Welcome aboard, Blind Owl, and congrats on your first reo :toast:

The RM2 is the de facto standard baseline for life in Reoville. Great little atty - super flavour factory.

Here's a link to a chart of the physical properties of Rob's toppers...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/601169-reomizer-physical-comparison-chart-rm2-rm3-rm4-rm5.html

The RM3 and the IGO-S (not listed in the chart) are the smallest offered (and therefore the shortest), and the RM3 comes in both single and dual coil versions (the cap having either one or two air holes is the only difference). Both are similar to the RM2 in terms of vape characteristics, with the RM3 with a dual setup giving you more oomph.

I really like the RM3, but I "max" it out by running duals.

What part of BC do you hail from, BTW?

Thanks, fellow Cdn! We're in NW Abbotsford (the Bradner/Mt. Lehman area). My girl and I aren't into cloud chasing, sub-ohming, lung hitting & all the rest of it, plus our hands aren't as steady as they used to be. A little more deck space would be nice.

Hey, unsure! Sorry, my phone done broke & my digital camera is a piece of crap. Maybe when I get a Nikon digital...that's if we don't spend all our pittance on more mods...

Besides, does this forum really need more REO porn? Got the orange with black crinkle-finish door. Better odds of spotting it when I drop it in the tall grass.

Blind Owl, congratulations on your new toy(s).....and of COURSE your wife wants one! In my opinion, the RM2 is the easiest one to build. There may be a couple with bigger decks, but then the posts are closer together. Also, the ceramic deck on the RM2 is really nice because it won't cause a short if the wire accidentally touches it. And for flavor......it's (to me) the best. I've tried the RM3 (single coil) and the IGO-S....and they're fine, but neither is as easy to build, and neither has any better flavor than the RM2. I suggest you get her an RM2 just like yours. If you don't, she'll just end up with yours and you'll end up with whatever different one you get. Ha.

I know it's hard to trust that you got the best one for flavor and ease of build on the first try, but you did. Get her one just like it.

Y'know what? Based on what you're saying, I'm not sure you're going to find a better atty than the RM2 for your needs/style. It's actually a very forgiving atty to build on (ceramic base, wider posts for it's diameter) and gives such a quality vape for what you're looking for. It also does it for a good price.

You can get bigger decks, but you're going to run into the height issues unless you went with something like the Derringer, which is a third party atty and fairly pricey. With the way you like to roll, I'm not sure it'd be an upgrade on the vape quality, though, and you'd be looking at shelling out more for some space.

Anyway, food for thought.

We're in North Van, so hey, neighbour.

Oh, and yes, the world needs more reo porn. Yours sounds like a beauty. A hand drawn sketch would be fine :)

I picked the RM2 more or less at random, so it seems I lucked out! I do like the ceramic deck, but I'm guessing that causes some variation in the post/airhole positions. One of the posts on mine is pretty much where I want to lay the wick.

For sure my girl will have an RM2 on her (black & metallic red) LP Grand, which we'll be ordering tonight. But before we go bananas on more REOs ( anyone want to buy a bunch of useless overdesigned, overpriced, underperforming junk? ;) ) we'll definitely want a spare BF atty.

Snow? What's that?

p.s. I'll see what I can do on the porn front. How about a sexy his & hers shot on, say, Friday? :p

Welcome Mr owl and Mz owlet!

With the RM2 it's totally unnecessary to have the wick touching the deck. Actually, it's best not to, as the excess juice on the deck, with the wick touching it,
will "cook" when the Reos' fired and then drain back thru the opening and into the bottle. You'll see the juice turn darker after a while and the flavor will be muted and, well, not very tasty.

In the case of the RM2, less is better for the wick, especially the wick closest to the squonk-drain hole.

Thanks for the tip. I'm still groping my way along, and this is the first dripper-style atty I've ever used. Haven't seen much sign of the juice darkening in the bottle yet, but I'll be re-wicking and maybe re-coiling tomorrow (been hitting my new baby pretty hard) so I'll give that a shot.

I should probably change this thread title from 'liking' to 'loving' ! Among other things, I love how quiet & trouble-free this thing is compared to even the best RTA/mod combos I've tried so far. What a concept: rebuildable atty, rebuildable mod!
