I am trying but with crappy results to create something thats good or even near good but with little success.

Now. locally, I am able to obtain VG ... three kinds i have now. They're all usable. So far so good.
The flavors, i had to goto the food flavoring shops. They have these large bottles that they give you the amount you want from.
I read the label on them and it said it had PG in it.
So now i should be good .. right?
I have VG, I have flavor with PG built into it.

i used this calculator: eJuice Recipe Calculator

and i inputted the values:

Nicotine Base 0mg
Target Nicotine Level 0mg
Amount to Create 5ml
Water Added (optional) 0
Flavor Percent 50%

and it told me i need to:

PG or VG with nicotine 0.0 ml 0 drops 0.0%
PG or VG (no nicotine) 2.5 ml 50 drops 50.0%
Water 0.0 ml 0 drops 0.0%
Flavoring(s) 2.5 ml 50 drops 50.0%

and thats what i did. i put 2.5ml VG and 2.5ml strawberry flavor with the PG built into.
Yet it smells very per-fumy!
i did the fast steep method of putting it in hot water and shaking. then left over night.
Still per-fummy

Whats going on?

Way way way to strong..... Heres a snip it from a very good DIYer here:

Hoosier's levels of flavoring from too little to too much:
  1. Nothing (Did I forget to add the flavoring?)
  2. Something Odd (This does not taste like the flavor I put in there.)
  3. I Can Taste Something Kinda' Like It (I can detect the higher or spice notes, but not the actual taste)
  4. Hooo, It's There, but Real Light (Getting close now, let it steep before adding any more)
  5. Bingo (Duh, we have a juice)
  6. Hmmmm, That Is Close, But Has A "Je Ne Sais Pas" of Oddness (Dang didn't let it steep and I overshot)
  7. Kinda' Close, but the Perfumey/Chemically Kills It (Going into the too much realm here and may be due to ignoring the steep part of #4.)
  8. Whoo, Did I Forget to Put the Flavoring In? (Too much flavoring can actually make things impossible to taste.)

Aslo here is his blog and a couple other good reads for you. Hoosier's blog | E-Cigarette Forum
dannyv45's blog | E-Cigarette Forum
and also, DIY tips from Str8 | E-Cigarette Forum
Hope this helps. I personally would only use 3%-11% for my juices as taste is Subjective.

What else did the label list as ingredients?
Whatever flavoring you did buy should have no more than the standard flavor listings by standard flavor manufacturers/blenders. This may be part of your problem.

my problem is i am not able to obtain PG.
AND the fact that my flavoring has PG in it. I am not sure how much though.

The 50% is what the calculator is outputting for me.

perhaps for every 5mil output i should i do 1mil flavoring and 4mil VG?

You will never do a 50/50 without plan PG. Trying to compensate PG with PG flavoring is only going to lead to over flavoring and that chemical/perfume taste and smell.

The best you can do would be an 80 - 90% (80 - 90%VG/5 - 10%pg from flavoring and the rest distilled water). So I would suggest you base your calculation on 80% or greater VG. If the vape is to thick add distilled water starting a 5% and work up to thin it. And start your PG flavoring at 5% and work up. As you increase the PG flavoring decrease the water.
