In the past, I have smeared a small amount of lip balm on my threads/o-rings and it has really helped with smoothness and leak prevention. Does anyone else do this? Is their something better?

I'd be careful with that. Athough I agree it works great. Lip balms tend to be OIL based. mostly PETROLEUM. You want to avoid contaminating your juice with any type of oils. They tend to be very bad for the lungs.
nope that sounds awful imo there so may attys that work why use one that you need to lube up/leaks? and if you need to lube stuff up just use some plain VG/PG or what ever you like to vape
Oil based lubes may affect the o-rings / seals as well, depending on their material.
I keep a bottle of my nic base (for pre-wetting wicks after rebuild, not always certain which flavor is going to go in next) and use a drop of that on o-rings and seals.

While the lip balm would not have any sort of oil in it that would effect the seals or gaskets, there are also many oil-free lip-balms. Neutrogena has a full line of them.
ALTHOUGH, I would agree that there is no need to put any type of sealer on a properly operating/ non-broken tank.

I lube my o rings with whatever juice I'm using at the time of putting my atomizer together.
I thought that's how everyone did it.
