I've been searching hobbyking for Lipo 1S battery packs. Seems like just about any of them have adequate amp drain for a DNA30 box.... usually capable of way more than we'll be pulling anyway.

Seems like I see most people use Turnigy brand, is that the brand to stick with? or are any brand or other brands suitable for vape mod use? I'm just asking so I can buy the right one.

THANKS

Tenergy seems to make some good ones.

I've been looking in to getting 2 Tenergy 1200mah 1S 15c cells and soldering 2 or 3 of them together and making a battery pack in order to get 2400 or 3600mah (no larger 1S cell will fit in my case), but I don't really know how to solder them together and don't feel comfortable doing it yet.

If someone has a link to soldering the tabs together in a series and how to wire it out, I'd appreciate it.

I dont think you want to wire in series, you want to wire in parallel. In series would increase voltage, where parallel would increase amperage/capacity but voltage would stay at 3.7v

That's what I said. :)

Wire to double (or triple as the case may be) the mah and amperage. Voltage stays at 3.7v.

The 6000mAh lipo I put together a while back has rock solid power for many days.
It was in a hard case.

What are the dimensions of that 6000mah battery? what case did you put it in? how much was it? and where did you get it from?

That is what I'd like to build a monster dna30 with.... a 6000 (+) mah pack. I chain vape, and if I use a pack, I want to make sure it would last me...........

Battery hight reduced to about 3 1/4" or a bit less with modified tab area and widths are 1 5/8" x 5/8". I made the case out of smoke plexiglass bent around a piece of wood with a little heat from a hairdryer. Cut out the ends and epoxied it together. Used 6 little magnets to hold the door in position. I had planned to do dual packs for 12Ah but glad an 1/8" error got me to cut it down (1 of these was enough for its purpose).
Its finished size is just a bit larger than a REO Grand.

Impressive, so you actually made the enclosure housing........................... very nice!

What kind of vape time do you get? I am lucky enough to be able to vape just about any time of the day (no work restrictions). I easily go thru 2 vtc5 2600mah batteries and about 6ml+ of juice.... and sometimes 3x vtc5 2600mah batteries and 10ml+ of juice in a day. (Yeah, I vape a lot)

unless you are buying matched cells, this is not something you should get into,
if you dont know what that means... you have a lot of reading to do.

unless you are planning to balance charge a pack, permanently soldering cells together is a bad idea,
if you dont know what that means... you have a lot of reading to do.

Creating multi-cell battery packs is not difficult at all, but if you don't know what you are doing, and don't do it properly, you can loose your hand.
In this high amp drain application, i would tread carefully with just soldering cells together, and hoping it works out.

I'm not saying to run the other way... but due diligence is required.

She burns 30+ml in TGT tanks between charges. Ran to cut-off once but wasn't keeping track. Charges over night with 1A board.

I like the Tibs by Bap printed housing for sure... ;) Wasn't really ready when I got the first batch of DNA30's and I couldn't wait.

To the question of lipo batteries... I've used several brand labels and have had mostly excellent results. Please note that I've also had bad luck with a few unknown labels and you do not want bad luck when it comes to LiPo!!! I've powered many high draw items such as electric bikes and power tools. I used some Zippy's in my Dewalt 18V with excellent results. Super light weight and always ready to work!

I got it all sorted out using 2 lipos in parallel with a parallel harness that use JST clips to connect.
