Liquid Crackdown after GE13

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hey guys,

I heard from a few vendors they say the rumours are they the govt are going to start cracking down on liquids at the current election. Especially home-made DIY liquids, and liquids with high nicotine content. One or two mentions 24mg onwards.

1. Can anybody confirm this?
2. What are you thoughts and plans around this if this happens?

Cheers guys, just thought that I would share this info that I got.

Yeah I did bro... hopefully that accounts for something. Yeah..... going back to analogs is the last thing I want.

Here are my thoughts tho:

1. I do agree that DIY have to be somewhat control. Way too many roadside vendors, we don't know the quantities they mix in.
2. A lot of fake liquids are out there, a lot of us (me included look at the costs) which does more harm than good.
3. I really think DIY vendors should get together and set some codes of conduct on the making of DIY liquids s.o.p. or something.

Buyers also have a big role to play too. But best to wait for the situation and only react.

Meaning I shall be vaping on.

if juice makers were to put up table of contents on their labels..i'd might consider..would love to know what im vapin if possible..i mean besides hurtin my tank..i wouldnt want to hurt myself in the same process :evil: but be honest..at times of drought, screw em..if it suits the throat and is expensive..id go for it..had bad experience with some local brews..i mean if its because of cases like this where by i had a bad reaction..then i would definitely understand why the crackdown i necessary..fake topcaps ok..fake liquids with i dunno what content..thanks but no thanks =P

if not mistaken, the rules says 4mg nic n below are allowed. i'm ok with DIY as long as they take care when producing, be clean and honest. dont just sell 'cincai' liquid just to get on the bandwagon and reap profits.

on the issue of crackdown, my view is regulate, not ban. if regulated carefully, we can have a good and thriving vaping industry. just look at the netherlands (ehemm hehe).

Yes nothing wrong with DiY except it's hard to know who takes care when producing, be clean and honest. And sadly, there are people up there who are into making big bucks and out to no good. I mean most liquids are somewhat DiY. Just need to get from reputable sellers i guess =) Regulating would be awesome, i personally dont mind the higher price (read: tax) that comes with it if i can vape it safe with no worries of it being a B grade stuff =)

I agree with bro looneytunes..dont mind paying the high price..just that..would be best to know what sort of mixture they are using..if lets say you justify your product like you being transparent on a Group Buy, wouldnt it be easier for people to have faith in joining you for the GB..i think lets say..once people start seeing what they are buying then..there will be a different mentality thinking..only wanting to buy the best and nothing but the best..hahahaha..either you bust your pockets or spend a hell of a time looking for the best

Plus to be honest..Its the higher up's who should really look into the matter not us..i dont mind sending a fellow representative vaper from our community to represent me to speak on my behalf..but they the higher up's must not only listen but also to support us and not only wanting to make profits of us by making us paying taxes for these products( in which i dont mind, but make sure i am accounted for it). So it works both ways..just check out the guys over on the US, they even have people who fight for this cause and their vaping industry which is really under threat. EU already you can see they have quite a strict restriction for some countries. And lets not forget about our friends in SG, where they are getting it even tougher than we are. I am on nobody's side neither i am trying to say that i am a smart .....but i would still consider us LUCKY..for being able to get items that most of them cant even get. All i am saying is..i want to be able to buy liquids in Malaysia with assurance..but i've heard many rumors and i too has gone through some bad experience with local products. All i want is, to know exactly what i am inhaling is safe? will i get diabetes? since it has high sugar content and some of us may have high sugar lvl and we just dont know it. Just things like this..Safety comes first they say..and i am not willing to become someones guinea pig..:2c: :vapor: :vapor:

Agree with everything KillJoy82 has said. Though I do believe that buyers do have the power to demand quality, and safety of products. As much as I hate to say but it breaks my heart when I see fake liquids or super lousy DIY liquids being sold. This is essentially our replacements to cigarettes and there are people out there who pretty much think they might as well buy cheaper (meaning fake) goods cause they can. What really annoys me (these are my personal thoughts) is that as a smoker you can go out and buy 1-2 packs a day but you won't invest in proper liquids. This is what makes us folks that really want 'safe' liquids suffer.

Personally me, I have tried a few local brews. Just not knowing what was in them worried me, it reminded of being back on analogs. How you might ask? For example you smoke what smokes you can get your hands on when you preferred brand wasn't available. I smoke for half of my life and general know when some smokes are stronger or not (or more poisonous). I just didn't want to duplicate that experience with vaping. Yeah I can go out and get some super tasty, or super cheap liquids but at what personal safety or peace of mind?

I think we consumers, especially the ones that are active in forums or online looking for informations should set standards and be aware of the issues. I mean I can safely say everyone I know vaping is trying to get off analogs. That is what vaping is to us and especially me. I don't DIY producers trying to make a buck. Heck make as much as you want but don't short change consumers. They are looking for the 'safer alternative.'

@hadi
i too agree with whatever you have said... but there are always people who have caught on the lousy habit but cannot afford to pay for it.
hence brands like luffman and what not (rokok 2 ringgit) and i personally think that the diy liquids are good and there are bad ones out there.
But generally PG is already natively found in bread and VG in cakes and ice cream... i think what makes a liquid feel "cheap" is the quality of the flavourings
and not the actual PG or VG. However i 1000000X agree when you say your heart breaks when fake liquid is being sold... even though we paid proper cash for it, i myself have been taken for a few rides, where the seller assured me that the juice was originally a US made liquid i paid like rm100 for 5 bottles and i cant even explain the horror that awaited me after the first puff... long story short i cried while dumping my juices in the sink
