Liquinator And The Spark Plug

OK, so I purchased the Spark Plug thinking that I would eventually head on over to Vaporescence to purchase an adapter and stick a Liquinator on it. So much for that...as usual I have to buy the stuff that's weird!!

I went over to the Denton, TX Vaporescence store yesterday to pick up said Liquinator. The salesman that helped me out was VERY honest with me. He said the Liquinator wouldn't work on the Spark Plug due to the adapter itself.

Apparently the connection has to be air tight otherwise the tank will not prime correctly. The slots on the top of the adapters do not allow this. I was extremely impressed that he didn't sell me a Liquinator and let me get down the road just to find out it wouldn't work. Kudos to the Vaporescence crew for their help, honesty and integrity.

Just thought I'd post this so anyone else planning to use an adapter doesn't find out the hard way!!

I'm a little confused. Don't have experience with it, hopefully someone that does will chime in but from what I've seen the carto slides down through the top and bottom and connects the same way a carto would if it wasn't in the tank. I've seen pictures of it being used with an adapter and a reviewer at the link below talks about doing it. What adapter are you using?

I do see the potential for the tank to possibly slide down to far if when using an adapter but other than that I'm lost.

I don't get this either. Right now I'm using one of their Liquinators on a Buzz with an 808 connecter (vented) with an 808/801 adapter (also vented) connected to an IKV 801 Fusion carto which has a vent hole in the collar. Not very air tight. Works great.

I would agree with Nomoreash and have used my Liquinator on my ePower with the original switch which would only work with the Smoketech cartos/attys due to the the deeper thread. I need a 510 to 510 adapter to get it to work with other attys/cartos (Madvapes) which is really an extension with some spacer rings. IMHO, the Liquinator really belongs on a variable voltage unit (mine are a ProVari and Buzz) to 1) to enjoy HV vaping 2) to accomodate the variances in cartos 3) to adapt to the changes in resistance of a carto during vaping. I am using the ProVari a lot more than my Buzz because of the easier way to change the voltage.

The only thing that might cause problems is the fact that the adapter has the same OD of a carto which would make it easy to slide down and cause it to leak. Even then, I do not see it causing a problem, but my Liquinators are fairly tight.

I've got some on my 510 Buzz's with an 801 Fusions with adapters. They work fine. Sounds like you got a new person who doesn't know what they are doing.

Hmmmm...all I know is the guy said it wouldn't work. I don't think he was new, but he could have been. He seemed very knowledgeable and even tried it on my sparkplug. It actually did work at the time, but he said it wouldn't prime for one reason or another. Maybe it was more something to do with the sparkplug...not completely sure as my brain is still muddled from all the 901/801/510/810 blah blah...

Regardless, he said it wouldn't work. I am still a little disappointed, but not enough to give up.

Hmmm! Where did you get the adapter? To avoid further confusion, I would need an 801 to 501 adapter, right?

He didn't sell me anything. I walked out after he said it wouldn't work...thanks for your reply.

You need an 801/510 adapter. goodprophets.com is the cheapest that I know of.

You're welcome and you'll find that the tank will work fine. It has nothing to do with the adapters. The holes/slots are what feeds the carto and little bit also contributed to how hard you draw on it.

Another question...I'm also looking into clearomizers for the spark plug. I know I'd need an adapter, but what resistance would be best to go with? I'm thinking 2.8, but I really don't know if that's best with the SP3 battery or not...

Not sure how warm you like your vape or how much of it you want but a 2.8Ω carto at 3.7 volts would be way too light for me. That's under 5 watts. I would suggest something closer to 2.0Ω.

I don't think they make 2.0 Clearos, around 2.4 is the lowest I've seen. For me CE2s are warmer than others at the same ohm, probably due to the coil being up top. At 3.7v I like them around 2.6 ohm but it's all preference.
