Just wanted to post my first thread and share a few things on my mind at the moment and a few things about myself. First, i'm glad i converted to the vaping scene for good. I first tried a e-cig back in 2009 in Chesapeake, VA in my early years in the Marine Corps. Believe it was called "Fifty-One" i could be incorrect, but it was something like that from what i can remember. It didn't stick and was soon back to dipping and smoking cigarettes again. This continued until around September 2012 not long after coming back from Afghanistan. A buddy of mine and i went into a bar and noticed someone smoking on a e-cig with a small tank on it. Long story short we asked him a few questions and decided to immediately proceed to the nearest smoke shop to purchase one. I don't recall the brand, but it was an Evo type device which at the time seemed pretty legit. We stuck to the device for about a month, but after experiencing issues with both of our devices we both quit using it and went back to cigarettes. Then about a year later my girlfriend at the time wanted to try one which made me want to give it another go, but the results were the same. I wasn't able to actually get into it until i finally purchased my first Mechanical mod then everything changed. Which was back at the end of June about a week after my father passed away from lung cancer from smoking cigarettes. I'v been vaping pretty strong ever since and finally quit cigarettes for good. Since then i converted my wife, her brother, and a friend of ours to mechanical mods.

I am current looking into getting a regulated box mod. Still doing my research on what looks most promising to me. Currently interested in the IPV V2 and/or Sigelei 100 watt box mods. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you've already got it figured out there Devil Dog... The IVP is a solid 50W mod, and the Sigelei as you know is 100W... really just depends on how many watts you usually run at... I'm sure you know that you can figure out your current wattage on your mech based on your coil resistance and battery voltage... that should give you the info you need for your decision... other than that, it's all about aesthetics! :D

I just wanted to say Hi and Welcome to ECF! Thanks for sharing your story, many of us followed very similar paths to end up here. Its great for other folks struggling to see, many of us had rough points too :)

As for your other question, I use box mods, but I use mech bottomfeeders, so my input is not so helpful. Good luck hunting!

I just recently got an IPV2 and am loving it (once I turned off the touch fire sensor) I would strongly recommended it to anyone. I am able to use the same builds as I did on my mechs, or higher ohm builds at much higher voltages and get the same if not better results.

The IPV3 has been announced as well so you have a lot of options to chose from!

CL makes a very good point... if you're comfortable with the mechs, you might look into the Reo... mechanical box mod with a bottom fed "dripper" (Probably going to be my next purchase!)

Been looking into the Reo mods and i really like what i see and the bottom feeding concept. The only issue i'm running into right now is finding a bottom feeding rebuildable atomizers for it. I'll continue to look around and see what i can dig up. Seems to me from what i can gather is people are converting certain atomizers to be bottom feeders. I'm not sure if that is something i want to deal with.

You can get the Reomizer 2 as well as several popular options already modified by Mr Reo himself on reosmods.com. There are also BF RDAs available like Hornets, Cyclones, Chalices etc.

Welcome Zeroinflux to ECF. Once you find that "wow" setup it's much easier to quit.....congrats on being cigarette free.

Good Luck to You...Happy Vaping!!!

Thank you CreepyLady. That helped narrow down my search. Thank you keonee as well.
