high voltage usually means (around here) 5V & up. warmer vapor, etc. as described by other answers. if it's a high volt mod it typically means a vaporizer that uses standard batteries--the type of batteries you'd use in electronics other than e-cigs, i mean.
for suppliers and types... there are lots and lots. search "silver bullet", "chuck", "protegy", "xhaler"... that'll give you plenty to start with for research. ;)

From what I've learned the higher voltage creates a warmer vape. The atomizer gets hotter and the vapor is warmerA lot of people go for the big battery mods for higher voltage, but also for higher mah battery which gives a longer lasting battery. The mods I have have replaceable rechargeable batteries. I don't have to pay higher prices for proprietary batteries that can only be used with the appropriate atomizer. I can purchase a battery for my 801 atomizer and pay anywhere from $10 to $18 a piece depending on where I purchase them. I can buy batteries for my Silver Bullet and get 4 plus shipping for just under $20.00.
