Well you have to find a method that works well for you, I got mine a week ago, and the first time I put a carto in I was very excited and anxious to use the phiniac, I shoved it in and mess up the oring, I kinda shredded it and got little bits of rubber floating around the tank. There is a great tutorial on youtube and on the phiniac site on how to do it right. Importantly you have to lube the end of the carto with some of your juice. You can also buy the little plastic tool they sell for helping with the insertion of the carto and protecting the orings. I works great, but hardly use it any more as the orings have softend . I found that attaching the carto with the tank on as far as it goes in , to my KGO battery helps me gently twist it in the rest of the way. Also attaching your drip tip on the top helps slip in also. Just be careful, because once it does slip in you can over push it and it might slip in to far and you will spill your juice. These tanks are very tight and wont slip once attached properly, so that being said, they can be a bit tricky when using them for the first time. Also be careful of thick juices as cartos are sometimes fussy and wont wick well. For me, I punch 2 holes on bottom close to connector one on close to the open part because I found it flows better with the top hole as an aeration hole. This helps because of the vacuum caused by the tight seal these tanks have. I had a few frustrations with the tank, and thought why did I get this and get myself into this mess? Once I did some research on you tube, and saw the tutorials on the phiniac site I found my way. Just relax, put it down. Maybe get a carto and drip , take a few puffs and relax. I love it now that I found my method. I also kept wasting juice when trying to fill it after the juice went down, so I found using a syringe helped A LOT. If you make the holes on bottom and the one on top it makes filling the tank a bit tricky as when you slip the carto down and try to make space some juice spills out of the holes. The needle is thin enough to fit into the space with out making a mess. Also when changing you carto, I use the method where you take the new carto, prefill it using the condom method, than I take the end that has the connection to battery and slip it onto the bottom end of the old carto, then you slip it right in and the other one slips right out, I found this on youtube also. I hope this helps , not make things worse. The phiniac tank is wonderful and I dont see myself being with out one. I had also bought a cheap smoke tech tank, though its not a bad tank, it doesnt have a good seal and the caps come off real easy and I spilled so much as the cap would come apart when I tried pulling the old carto off. The smoke tech works fine once it on and going, but it is slippery and can come off your battery or carto much easier. Just check on youtube and check the phiniac site. It helped me out a lot. You can do this. If I did it, anyone can.

I currently have 3 Phiniac tanks, and have yet to use my second set of O-rings that come with it. I've had the tanks for over a month now. They are very tight to start with, but over time they do loosen up alittle, making it easier to put a new carto in. That said, you do need to put some juice on the O-rings and cartomizer BEFORE you insert the carto, and the tool they offer does help, because cartos can have rough edges on them that can hang up on the O-rings. Something else that might help you is to gently twist the carto as you're pushing it up into the tank. You'll get the hang of it, and be very happy with your tanks once you do.

I don't have a Phiniac, but I do have a tight tank, so here is my 2 cents.

First, I don't think anyone questioned if you have punched cartos, or slotted.
If you have slotted, they will not work on a tight tank, period.

I have used both the slant topped delrin tool and the "slap yo mama" tool.
Hands down, the SLM is the way to go. The fit is flush in the carto, the tapered cone makes
it slide into tanks easily ( a tight tank will require a little juice for lubrication ),
once the tank is filled and pushed down the rest of the way on to carto, the tool is easy to remove.
( I have read where some say the delrin tool is hard to remove because there isn't much to get a grip on )
It also makes it easy to swap out a carto with juice still in the tank.

Putting the carto on your PV first definitely makes it easier to manipulate things.
A little twist while sliding the tank down helps with tight tanks as well.

+1 for the Slap-Yo-Moma tool from Big Daddy Vapor. Ingenius idea that serves multiple purposes. Saves your tank cap's 0-rings, which I theorize causes most people's issues with leaky tanks. Makes filling and refilling your tank so much easier, cutting the time down by half.

When pre-filling my cartos, I insert a toothpic into the air hole so I do not need to worry about getting the juice in there.

It depends upon which size phiniac tank you got. They are all the same diameter, they only differ in height, or length. Boges fit the shorter tanks, the XL cartos or dual/single coil Smoktek fit the XL tanks. Whether you choose dual coil or single coil is all a matter of preference, both will work. Dual coils will put an additional drain on your batteries by having 2 coils to burn. Its been my experience that you get just as much vapor production with the single coils and a moderate increase in battery life.

Sometimes I'll have juice left in the tank and just use a syringe to suck it out and back into the bottle, or just put it back into the tank after you've punched a new carto and put it in the tank.

I can't stress it enough to friends of mine that want to use tanks, GET A TANK TOOL. they will save you much aggravation. I have the Akir carto punch and the derlin Phiniac tank tool, and I'm about to order the Slap Yo Mama tank tool. Must have's in the carto/tank vaper's kit.

Have you used, or do you know, if the ikenvape platinum punch cartomizers would fit the regular sized naked phiniac tanks?

No, I haven't used Ikenvape cartos. I went to the Ikenvape website. It looks to me that the above carto you asked about is a regular length 35mm carto and should fit the regular Phiniacs. What they call the "mega" cartos appear to be the longer 45mm length cartos, which should fit in the XL Phiniacs.

Thanks again, confirmation is always helpful. Definitely think the phiniac will be the carto tank i get next.
