I had thought about that, but I'm fairly certain the Vamo won't fire under 1.2. Works just fine on the Vamo. On every other coil I have tested, the resistance readings are within 0.1o between the devices. Maybe the Vamo is reading high, and is firing based on that reading, not the actual resistance of the coil.

Try to loosen the tank and / or the coil just a tad. I just got my mini and noticed the same thing when I had the coil cranked down really tight in the protank. I just loosen and re-tighten (not AS tight) the coil and it fixed the error.

Sum...... You were on the right track with my issue. Turns out I had the tank tightened too much onto the Provari. Loosened it a quarter turn and voila! It worked. Thanks for the advice! Time to put the Vamo back in the drawer.

OK – Been playing with my new toy all day. It’s a great device. My issue is that all I have for tasty toppers right now is 4 Kanger tanks – 2 Prokanks and 2 Aerotanks – all with an aero base. They all short out if I screw them down tight. (and I want to tighten them – it’s an OCD thing. I can’t help it) I really don’t want to buy another damn tank. Do you fine, kind, and knowledgeable folks think that a “provari ring” might add enough gap fill to allow me to tighten down my kanger tanks?
Thanks...

The rings are designed for hiding gaps between tanks/batts that don't fit flush with each other. I'm like you -- it makes me crazy to have to loosen toppers, but...it works so I've tried to make peace with it. Sorry, I don't think rings will help.

I haven't tried the new megatanks though...it *might* work with those. Not sure. I need to order one and see for myself!

I use all Aerotanks BTW. :)

The best solution I have come up with for the gap, and wanting to screw them aerobases down tight, is to make a paper or tagboard shim. I use a paper hole punch to make the opening, then screw it all together, trace with a pencil around the aerobase, then trim the shim to just under the line with scissors. This is even when using ProVapes beauty ring.

I've been putting an o-ring in the dripwell on my Provari around the 510 connection. When I screw on a Protank, it compresses the o-ring and makes the tank feel tight. It doesn't work with all Protank coils though. Sometimes the pin doesn't stick down far enough to make a good connection, so I have to take the o-ring out.

Thanks - are you putting the o-ring on the protank base? or inside the PV well? - I was thinking of trying to find some thin nylon washers and holding them on the protank 510 connection with the o-ring from a dead coil..
a 1mm gap is not going to bug me as much as a loose tank :)

The Atmistique Hippo V2 trim ring 510 pin is screwdriver-adjustable.

That might solve your OCD problem.

They are pricy however.

Hippo rings are wider than a Protank. I guess it would work, but it might look funny.

The o-rings I use fit perfectly in the well on my Provari, but are thick enough to stick up above the edge of the top cap. It stops you from screwing the tank all the way down, but keeps it from wobbling. This only works when you have an air flow controller on your Protank. It would cut off the air flow completely with a regular Protank base.

Post a pic if you can and have the time - I guess I just don't get how an o-ring in the PV would work. I put an o-ring on the tank post and it helps a little bit. Thanks

My o-rings are brown. It doesn't work perfect, but it keeps me from screwing the tank down too tight.
