Out of line, ESPECIALLY making presumptions about what level someone might need to quit smoking.
I was ALMOST going to sort-of side with the idea that they could choose to no sell anything over 18 mg, IF that was across-the-board, and based on the owner's belief that it might prevent "abuse" or continue unnecessary addiction.

But it makes no sense for them to draw conclusions about whether it's enough for others, really.
All I can imagine is that they think somehow they're keeping "teenagers" from getting too much nicotine?

There HAVE been cases, in the news, and I know of it locally, personally - of KIDS using e-liquid like it's some fun new recreational drug.
Which is bad for EVERYONE. So maybe they initially reacted to that kind of thing - but they did it wrong.

ID is all you should need to purchase their products. Any of them. Without buttinsky opinions about your vaping preference.

Wow. That's some story. Doesn't sound like she really wants your business. I also discovered that my local B&M only sells up to 18mg. I can tolerate 18mg but I prefer 24mg. I was really bummed about this because here I found a B&M just blocks from my home and it's useless to me as a juice supplier. When I asked why, the guy said that anything above 18mg is just "not popular." LOL.

I know. I buy 100mg and water it down from there. My wallet would be hurting if I could only buy 18.
Just posted a little data to show RBA power in case FDA wins.

Ah I also bought 100mg for my DIY. But my PG and VG arent here yet, so I need to make do a bit longer.

Its one thing to not sell it at all. Another to deny it to one person because he is "too young"

Thats discrimination in some way :x

I went into my local B&M yesterday because my battery died on me and needed a quick replacement. Once the battery was replaced, I asked for some 24mg blueberry because 18mg wasnt satisfying my analog craving entirely.

She told me she wouldn't sell higher than 18 because of my age, stating only 30 year + smokers that smoked 2 PAD needed that high. Untrue, it's really not based on either from what I've seen on this forum. Needless to say I refused to purchase the liquid. I was a PAD+ smoker for 5 years, I'm almost nineteen.

It was definitely her choice to refuse the service, but what really irritated me was her next comment after I finished the purchase of my battery.

"If you want to quit smoking just don't smoke you dont need 24mg or 18mg, you can just quit"
Now, I'm not sure if that's how she quit, but for most of us, we took up vaping specifically because we were unable to by other means. I found it annoying that she thought she knew my smoking history or anything about my addiction. Refuse a sale if you wish, but don't tell me how to deal with my addiction. I showed my frustration as I exited.

Do you think I overreacted? I feel like that may have just been the fact that she was older and maybe was talking as some kind of mother figure. Which is ridiculous, I am an adult and can make decisions for myself.

I doubt I'll return to that shop.

I'd be irked too. It's one thing to make recommendations and another to dictate what a customer can and cannot do. Anyway, she was just making stuff up. Why on earth would you have to be 30+ to vape 24mg? That's nonsense.

Not only is her reasoning silly, it's counter-intuitive too. You'd think a younger person's cardiovascular system would be more tolerant of a vasoconstrictor like nicotine...

I'm not sure, but she might be the owner.
Either way I'm not going back. Especially cause they also gave me the wrong attys for a tank I bought there

They told me to bring em back and they'll swap em, which I will do. After that I'm never returning again. These people do not use logic to sell products.

I know, that's the strangest thing I've ever heard, and to actually come with an age limit so ridiculous as 30 years old. So if you were 29 years old would you have to produce an ID? LOL. Maybe you should go back with your grandpa and get your juice just to spite her. LOL.

When you are there exchanging your attys you can ask if she is the owner or not. If not find out who is.
