Unfortunately this is becoming more of an issue across the board. I have seen SO many B&M's opening up around my area and the employees are not properly trained. It's seems like a lot (not all) are just in it for the money. I realize it's hard to find good help but as sensitive as this industry already is it would seem to be in the owners best interest to properly train their employees. I'm not just talking about your ejuice issue, I'm talking about walking in to a store and no matter what personal need you have they point EVERYBODY to the same devices, juices, batteries.... They don't know what MODS are, they don't understand variations in PG/VG. I walked in to a B&M two weeks ago with my Provari in pocket and they didn't have a clue what it was. This was the owner, not an employee. I'm thinking to myself, REALLY? you haven't heard of Provari? What the hell are you doing opening a store? I didn't stay to long to say the least. It's really bad news for us for store owners NOT to know the industry, the devices, the juices. I don't expect them to know everything but man, at least be a competent business owner and KNOW your business before you decide to buy a bunch of cheap junk just to fill your shelves and call yourself a vape shop. These kind of places are hurting us more than many people realize

It's very concerning. I don't even want to get into mods with the lady at this B&M. She was bragging about her MVP. This c was the younger lady, and she was acting like it was the best PV ever. Don't get me wrong, it seems like a good battery and it's on my wish list but it's not the best

Eh... I can see her point. I've had a lot of mods over the past three years and the MVP is definitely one of my favorites. There could be an argument for it being 'Best' if you take into account all factors, including price.

Right the price is right but she's working at a vape shop. Should have info on deals on other mods with better performance. If you've got money, then price is no issue in comparison to performance.

I'm throwing performance in there too. Don't want to hijack your thread, but it's an all-around excellent mod. Now, if she said that about, say, an iTaste 134 you'd know she's just trying to sell you overpriced garbage.

Which reminds me, what are their prices like? How much for a 30ml of juice? How much for an MVP?

Idk about 30ml but it's 9$ for a 10ml before tax. Two peas in a pod brand. Didn't check on mvp .

Yeah, that's a business that doesn't deserve your money anyways. That price for juice is highway robbery. My local B&M charges $16-$17 a 30ml for premium brands like Alice in Vapeland.

Yeah I know it's a ripoff. I bet the MVPs in the neighborhood of 80 lmao when I can get it for 40 online

Well, they do have overhead to cover, but almost $1 a ml for China juice is BS. It sucks when your local B&M is like this, but at least it's there for emergencies. Plan ahead and get your gear online would be my advice.

I am very lucky that I have a Mad Vapes store close to me with employees that know what they are talking about. I have went in there with many questions and always got an answer.

I hope the Op can find a better shop to do business with.

Well, the industry is exploding right now and I guess we have to accept the good with the bad to a certain degree. With ALL the vape shops opening their doors lately, I can only hope the bad ones will get weeded out eventually. There will always be someone waiting to take advantage just to make a quick buck. I have no problem paying a little more for a product from a B&M. I understand it, I would like to see the owners make a good living at it... IF they are in business for the right reasons.

My local B&M doesn't carry 24mg *yet* because they just opened a month or two ago and haven't yet had enough requests for 24mg to make it worth carrying - the owner is afraid it would just sit on the shelves at the moment, since the vaping community in the immediate area is a weird mix of brand new vapers who are still figuring out their nic level and longtime vets who use RBAs almost exclusively. She said she'll be happy to carry it as the word spreads that they're in town and business picks up. (I'm positive that'll happen, as the next closest vape store is 45 minutes away and *charges* to use their lounge or sample flavors.)

Something like that, I can understand. Arbitrary sale refusal like you experienced is a different kettle of fish, not to mention an odd business practice. Sure, it's her right to refuse a sale, but she'll find that it's also her former customers' right to take their business elsewhere.

It sounds like they don't know as much as they think they do, which can be outright dangerous when it comes to vaping.

Tossing in another vote on the side of "the MVP is an amazing piece of kit" though. Best, well, that's subjective... but it's definitely the best for the way *I* vape (long, hard, and often, with lots of tank/atty switching and lots of different volts/watts settings across different juices). Clear evidence that gear is as subjective as juice: My mother *hates* it, so much so that she makes a face every time I hand it to her just to try whatever juice I have loaded up at the moment... it's just not her thing. But she has no desire for all the bells and whistles and prefers simplicity and portability... nothing wrong with that.

Google the name of the establishment and write a review. It may even help someone else because she/he may change his mind after receiving a review that brings it to the public attention. Just my :2c: I've only been in 1 shop and I was so "unimpressed" that I will probably never go in another one. I would surely not purchase from the one I went in.

Well, she's just stoooopid! She could be making so much more money as a government employee working for the FDA. They would consider her a huge asset with her in-depth knowledge about vaping and snap her up right away. And its not just the money. Just think how satisfied she would feel each night climbing into bed knowing how many people she "saved" that day. She's really to be pitied for not having the good sense to further her economic situation and job satisfaction. At the very least, she could even make more money as an ANTZ lobbyist.

Edit: don't let this experience throw you into agism nor sexism. While there is some truth in thinking her attitude is due to her gender and age, know that I'm a 70 year-old woman who despises prejudice in any form along with all those with Nanny mentalities wherever and in whomever I see them. Think about it: If the you see her attitude as due to her age, then you would have to accept her views regarding your age as being okay.
