Hey everyone,

Just wondering if your local smoke shop has upgraded to carrying ecigs, and eliquids...not just a BLU or njoy brand, but lets say at least EGO types. I'd say there are about 2 out of the probably 20 shops in the area that actually fit this category. One sells a basic ego battery, and a cheapo carto, they run for about 50 for a "starter kit" and the cartos are ten bucks each. I bought three of their eliquid bottles, which were adequately priced, $5 for 15ml but they all just tasted gross. What's the local shops hold in your town?

Don't know about tobacco shops, as I don't go to them anymore. But the a couple of the head shops that I sell glass art to sure do. They have eGo, eVic, protanks, eVods, atomizers, cartos, clearos and one has Elixer Liquids, which are quite good. But the store in question marks it up way too high.

Doesn't really answer your question, though.

The two in my area (suburbs of Portland) have something approaching e-cig gear, but nothing I would consider good. One smoke shop carries the Smoke Fifty Ones and a few brands of disposables, the other one has Imperial Hookah sticks and e-liquid (very limited choices). The only thing I've seen is lots of glass pipes/hookah/other smoking and vaping stuff. There is one (count it, ONE) "real" vape shop (not a kiosk or head shop) in a metro population of over 2 million that is Portlandia...it just opened and I think they carry all the basic gear. I'll be stopping by to see if they have any APV's to try out, though.

I don't visit the smoke shops in my area anymore, so I can't comment on them. I did notice that the gas station I fill up at now carries an ego style kit along with the blu kits and disposables. Don't remember the name of the kit, but it is a rip off at the price they are selling it for. 1 ego style pass through battery (doesn't give the mah, but it is the size of a 900), 2 ce4 style clearomizers (non replaceable coils, long wick, 1.6ml), a usb charger cable and wall outlet, and a 10ml bottle of tobacco flavored eliquid for the low low price of $69. Of course, it is still a better deal than the $75 blu kit that is beside it on the counter. I do find it funny that they sell the kit, but do not sell the clearomizer replacements nor liquid.

One of the local newstands/tobacco shops stocks evics, itaste MVPs, along with egos. They also have smok cartos, clearos such as evods and pro tanks, udcts, wire and wick. As far as juice goes they stock Halo, NicQuid and Nice Juice. They have cig-a-likes too.

Best part is that they have reasonable prices... Like exactly what you would pay online if you factor in shipping. And the guys at the store tell me that many of the other local shops are starting to follow their lead. They're a step ahead however... Apparently business is so good that they are gonna open up a vape only shop a couple doors down.

I went in a couple just to see if they did sell ecigs. One has mostly all disposables. The other had an assortment of things. It looked like mostly the cigalike batteries but they did have some liquid! I have to say....I do not think I would buy it. The bottle labels looked very worn on them. I was happy to see some things there though! They are popping up in just about every store we go into now....the disposables and cartridges.

The closest convenience store is a major truck stop. They seem to be constantly adding to their e-cig stuff, but no liquids yet. Truckers must be switching in large numbers.

There are two smoke shops reasonably equidistant. One is tribal, and they are not very interested in expanding e-cig merchandise. They preach self-control in tobacco use. The other is expanding their e-cig merchandise fairly quickly, but still only pre-filled cartridges.

There is a head shop in the area, but apparently they have no interest in e-cig.

One in Tacoma has moved into the arena. They are a "roll your own" tobacco place (to sidestep the taxes on ready mades - bulk tobacco, tubes, machines, etc.)

While the have the seemingly obligatory disposables, the also carry some CE styles, Vivis, a decent selection of juice, and the VMod!

Juice prices are reasonable, CEs are pretty spendy, and the VMod is actually competitive with online (although not with online sales!)

I've talked to a number of local smoke shops hoping to influence carrying more e-cig supplies. No go. Not interested although I notice hookah products and pipes in little corners. The attitude has felt defensive, stand-offish, almost righteous which is pretty ironic coming from a store selling cigarettes. A few times I've got to talking to the owner, if I mention something about FDA regulations, the response has been "good, it's about time" and "they need to do something - no one knows what's in .... juices, etc." standard FDA marketing bullcrap.

Local smokes shops, on the whole, are not vaper friendly. A couple of RYO (roll your own - new term for me) have carried a few eGo batteries, disposables, one even had a KT101 mod and Kanger T3's + wicks. Their juices were limited to 4 flavors, all tobacco's and 3 strengths, rebranded and he wouldn't disclose the original brand. That shop's owner proceeded to lodge complaints about a local B&M vape shop that does most of their business in juice, saying not to trust them because they mix their own juice.

Do they even hear themselves? He won't tell me what his juice is or brand, there is no labeling, origin - and he complains about a product that is labeled with known ingredients because they mix their own???

Honestly, I hope someone can give these shop owners a wake up call BEFORE they vote against us and themselves.

The local smoke shop here has the usual Blu, NJoy, 21st Century stuff. THe thing that ticks me off is I was talking to the owner about them before I started vaping and she REALLY was pushing people away from them with her complaints about how HEAVY they were and how they were nothing like cigs so they didn't work.

I mean why carry them if you are going to turn people away from buying them.

The good news is her garbage got me hunting infor on the real deal.

started as a shop with two big machines that you would "rent" to fill your tubes by the carton. State law stopped that, and they expanded to selling beer, etc. They have some hookahs, and other head shop merchandise. They were responsive to my request that they carry more merchandise of a certain 808 brand. There is another shop with the same name in the closest large city.

Wow. Although it doesn't particularly surprise me, the amount of store owners who are ignorant to, and won't carry ecigs (or anything but crap disposables/blu/whatever) it still is shocking to hear how some of you guys might have been treated when bringing up the subject.

The smear campaign against ecigs must really be working to those who refuse to educate themselves (a large majority of the population, lol).
