Im waiting for it to start burning right ow it ain't bad. Luckily it was mostly the leg of the coil, and it was a fat clapton at .6 and my battery was at about 3.5v
It couldve been worse with a fresh battery and/or .2 micro coil

It never really started burning for me, but it did remove my fingerprint in that area. It's still not back yet. lol

Don't mind the crappy tat, hurts like hell compared to the coil burn which still doesn't hurt... hmm.. Wonder why it doesn't?

I had some 3rd degree burns from a fire 8 months ago, fell asleep with a cigarette and caught my bed on fire, its actually what prompted me to switch to an ecig.
Anyways, the burn clinic told me 3rd degree burns don't hurt because it burns the nerve endings, so you can't feel it. Thats probably why it doesn't hurt.

I had a friend spend 4 months in a burn unit. His opinion on 3rd degree burns is quite different.
I'm repeating what my Drs told me. I wasn't hospitalized for 4 months, but I did have to go to the burn/trauma center multiple times a week for debridement. The 2nd degree burns around the 3rd degrees hurt much worse. Here are the common symptoms of 3rd degree burns. Notice the last one.

The following are the most common symptoms of a full thickness, third-degree burn. However, each child may experience symptoms differently. Symptoms may include:

Dry and leathery skin

Black, white, brown, or yellow skin

Swelling

Lack of pain because nerve endings have been destroyed

Just in case this was still up in question, it is true that the partial thickness burns vs full thickness burns will have different effects on the feeling in the area. First and second degree will hurt the worst compared to the (predominantly painless) nature of third and fourth degree. Your 'full thickness' third and fourth degree burns are much worse and generally have a higher potential for infection due to the depth of the effected tissue. The person with the full thickness burn will not feel pain as much as they will feel a pressure or possible discomfort in that area. Always follow up with your physician or emergency room if you ever have any questions about the burn received or believe you need medical care - infection is a big risk with burns. Be safe and think smart, lets keep vapers out of my hospital! :)

Cheers,

Two weeks later almost gone still no pain but i keep reopening it and cleaning when it gets black for fear of infection.

Stop re-opening the wound - you are asking for trouble. The skin that has grown over it is the first line of defense against infection. Just maintain the area and keep it clean and such at this point. If you bandage it, keep those fresh and maintain the area with a topical antibiotic, and make sure that the wound is not kept moist for a prolonged period of time, as it can soften the skin and cause it to be more permeable to all the stuff it was meant to keep out of you. As stated before in my initial post - if you have any concerns about it please go see a doctor.
