Hello everyone!
I've been a long time lurker on the forums, and finally decided it was about time to get involved with the community. I started vaping in late August 2011 and haven't had an analog since Sept. 14, 2011.
I started out with one of those mail-order Blu e-cigs, but promptly returned it within a few days. My next stop was a Joyetech 510 and using those tea bags as my wick for juice. Back in 2011 I remember that the tea bag mod was all the rage, and there were tons of videos on Youtube showing a multitude of ways of folding and prepping it to maximize juice capacity and flavor, and how to prevent leakage.
I ran with that setup for about a year until I upgraded to an Ego-T setup with tanks. Being able to load my juice in a tank was revolutionary for me at the time. Soon after I upgraded to an Ego-C atty, and loved the ability to purchase 5 packs of small replaceable atomizers to keep my device running strong at all times. Next up was moving from a standard to LR atomizers, and I was in love with the bump in intensity. Along the way I started purchasing twist batteries and even picked up the Joyetech Ego-CC clearomizer to change things up a bit. I stayed pretty stagnant with an Ego setup until just around late summer this year when I came to a fork in the road. At first I was planning on doing a small upgrade and picking up a eCom setup, but then one day I stumbled into a new b&m that opened up a few weeks earlier in my town. It was the first time I had actually had any hands on with mechs and regulated mods, and I knew quickly that it was the path I wanted to take.
Things moved very quickly from this point. My first purchase was an IPV 35 watt mod and a Aspire Nautilus tank. Shortly after the board on my IPV started having issues, and I am currently waiting for Asmodus to get it back to me (which from what I heard can take a very long time). Since I was without my mod, I picked up a Revolver clone and a kick to give myself the ability to regulate the power. During this time I spent many hours studying ohms law so I would have a solid understanding of how to use my new device in the safest manner possible. Next I picked up a good ohm / voltage tester and my first RDA. I now love building my own coils and discovering how different builds can alter flavor and vapor output. I have yet to sub-ohm below 0.5 since I have discovered I'm much more of a flavor chaser than anything else. My most recent purchase was an IPV2s and an Aspire Atlantis. My RDA is my at home device, and the Atlantis works perfect for when I'm at work or driving around town. I started my vape journey using 24mg juice, and now I strictly use 6mg. With my current devices using anything more would knock my socks off
.
I realize that this introductory post ran a bit long, and I want to thank anyone who took the time to read it all.
I lastly want to thank all of you on ECF for helping me along this journey of mine. I don't think I would have been able to keep off the analogs if it wasn't for all the great information I was able to obtain from here. I never make any new purchases until I can see what this community has to say first. I've come to the point that I would greatly enjoy being able to share the knowledge that I have obtained over the years with any new members that are just starting on their journey.
Thanks again, and Happy Thanksgiving!
