I'm running my kayfun at .4ohm with my new VTC5s (incredible battery BTW!) It makes for a great vape, but it's pretty warm. Does anybody know of a drip tip that looks like the stock one only perhaps an inch longer?
Of course it will have a cooling effect. You're giving the vapor more time to cool before reaching your tongue, as well as a slight heat sink if you're using a metal tip. Even 1/4" will make a noticeable difference.
I don't have one to recommend however, as I prefer a warm vape.
I'm not the guy that is going to cry about running low ohms but on a kf of any kind I don't think your really getting anything beneficial from running that low.... That is besides a hotter vape.
I'd bet you'd be better off running a bit higher and you'd get the temp down as well.
I usually build the coils for my Kayfuns from .9 ohms up to 1.3 ohms and it gives me the vape I like. I think the limited air flow with the Kayfuns is what is causing the heat as the coil is not getting cooled by large amounts of incoming air.
I got a 3D clone dripper last week and I have dual coils with a resulting .6 ohms build in it. I had to drill larger air intake holes to get it to work with this build and not be too hot.
I'm vaping on a .9ohm coil right now. The temp is perfect, but idk, it just doesn't "pop" like the high wattage one. I should be clear, I like a warm vape, but you can imagine 40w is HOT
