And being married to a man who doesn't like me to smoke and doesn't like to see me vaping. Yes, I'm pressuring myself because of other people. I closet smoker turning into a closet vaper. Can't win.

@Jiggs

Can't add much more to Anna's very eloquent post. I think that it is important to realize that vaping may not be as satisfying as cigarettes but only in the nicotine kick aspect. In my experience, knowing that when I craved for a cigarette the vape was going to take longer to make effect made things easier because I knew what to expect from vaping and to anticipate those cravings.

As Anna wrote, you have to look at the fun side of vaping and the vast array of options we still have. It is a fun hobby and after some experimentation you will find the equipment / liquids that suit you best. The fact that vaping lets you tailor your own experience is fantastic!

And please, don't become a closet vaper! I'm sorry but your husband has to accept the fact that you like vaping and that it is better for you and for the rest of the people you are with. If the studies I've read are true there is no passive vaper. If you vape secretly you won't fully enjoy it and therefore it will be harder to quit analogs.

At the beginning my wife did not like to see me vaping as she didn't like my cigarettes, but after quitting analogs she was the one that noted (and told me) that I was breathing better, that my skin looked better and that I was not having any apneas. Now wife says that she prefers to live with a steamroller (not that I'm a cloud chaser) than with a walking ashtray.

BTW, in my case throat hit is very, very, very important. I do MTL at low wattage using 12mg 60vg/40pg or 50/50s. I don't care about clouds but flavor and the hit. Don't really fancy fruit liquids, I keep looking for tobacco flavors on the sweet side. That is what works better for me and next august will be my first vaperaniversary.

I'm sure you will succeed, don't despair, find the vape that works for you and forget about hiding.

Muscle memory is part of it, for sure. I can go for 8 hours when I'm at a party or wedding, never thinking about smoking and smoke 3 cigarettes as soon as I get home. It's like breaking any habit. Takes time.
Welcome and glad you joined.
You may be one of the few smokers that may have problems with switching over. Most smokers have a hard time going 8 hours without smoking, so that tells us something right there.
If you want to quit it helps to have a good reason. Suggest right down, in list form, all the reasons why you want to quit.
Then find some e-liquids that taste good (better than you have now).
Try vaping again and whenever you feel the urge to smoke, review your list of reasons why you want to quit. Then treat yourself with a good tasting e-liquid vape.
While your vaping, you might want to think of other reasons to quit and add them to you list.
