Long time smokers who've made the switch. Did it help your skin?

So I recently looked up while I had my arm over my forehead, and what did I see? Freakin' old lady skin, that's what!

Yeah, I heard the warnings about skin damage, but somehow didn't think it applied to me.

So I'm wondering if anyone who did switch to vaping, did the skin damage slow down or (oh, please) reverse at all?

Probably too much to hope for. Guess I'll be looking for an old-age forum next.

I have had dark circles since I was a kid, but they have seemed to get better since I quit smoking. The skin on my face is more hydrated now with less winkles probably because of the VG it seems to make my skin greasy. But I will take grease over wrinkles anytime and my hair needs washed everyday now, instead of every other. My cheeks have a natural bronzer now too. Yay no old lady face cream for me lately. Now I just wonder if I quit vaping if I will have go back to using face moisurizer again.

I have noticed a difference in my skin tone in my face even for such a short time analog free....my legs are usually very dry even in the summer, but for the past week, I notice they are not dry at all, and my arms and hands are not as wrinkly, I'm 50 and had noticed that my wrinkles on my face where very prominent, but not now, my face seems more hydrated as well....weird the changes how quickly they can happen, my nails are not yellow either.....

Darlasue, don't tell anybody, but I just went to my 45th Year Class Reunion. It's happened to all of us. Even the men.
But, I have also lost my face "mask" of purple, the dark circles under my tired looking eyes, the blotchy ruddy looking dry skin on my neck and face and everywhere else, and it is also softer around my mouth. My hair has never grown so fast or been so shiney!
(Some of it's grey!) Everybody says I look better than ever, and they know how I smoked. They now know I vape as well. Two of my classmates have had cancer treatments. Attributed directly to smoking.
But NOTHING will get rid of Freakin' old lady skin other than a plastic surgeon! Even that would only be temporary. Enjoy life with what you have, my theory, because all of our butts are gonna bag off into a downward position sooner or later. But the one thing that is nice? We usually also develop poor eyesight about the same time!

Thanks for all the encouragement. I'm really looking forward to looking and/or feeling better, not to mention the savings. I figured up last night I'm spending about $400 a month smoking. (Buying the last non-fsc at premium prices, and paying daughter to go get them for me.) I'm really fired up to quit for good, and maybe it will be easier with the support in these forums. Also trying to encourage some smokers around me to give e-cigs a shot.

Ditto on the dark circles diminishing - also my skin is now pink and not grey-tinged - something I hadn't noticed until it changed actually.
Be aware though that your skin WILL get drier because of PG and VG so you must MUST exfoliate and moisturise more. That's good for the skin though so its not all bad news.

Ok....I haven't mentioned this here, but the other day my son looked at me and told me that my skin looked better and that I looked 10 years younger since I've been vaping! He's 23 years old and to get that unsolicited compliment was quite wonderful!

My son too is 23 - don't you just have to love em'
I told him when he was about 14 (and girls were not so Yucky) that he should never ask a woman (read female) how old they are or how many pounds they are.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
being analog-free for almost 2 months now, did more for my skin than any of the restylane injections! i will definitely be spending less money at the plastic surgeon office! nasolabial folds and marionette lines and fine lines at the vermillion border are much less prominent. skin texture has improved, colour has vastly improved, elasticity seems to have improved. people at work (most dont know i smoked), started noticing, and thought i had some sort of cosmetic surgery. i told them, NOPE! i quit smoking cigarettes! amazing.

My husband has complimented me at least three times on how great my skin looks, and I have definitely noticed that my under-eye circles have all but disappeared. I also use a strong AHA (skin resurfacing agent) every night...have been for a year...but now it seems that I'm really reaping the benefits of my AHA since I quit smoking. It has sloughed off the nasty 'smoking skin' and has revealed nice, new, bright skin underneath. I strongly recommend a good AHA, and I use M2 Skin Refinish (20%), but it's pretty strong. Acne.org also has a great AHA that's super-cheap and works amazingly well for the price.
