I had a disapointing time with my reos way back when. The problem was I used cheap shorty cartos and did NOT want an rba. This was before Rob released the RM2. I ended up putting them aside for a while and wasting much money. I came back here...saw the RM2, asked a few questions. Since August I haven't vaped anything but a reo. I went from my original two, to six reos.

if you are using the RM2 - there is a dead space between the ceramic deck and the bottom of the atty than can collect juice and hold a lot of residue causing the flavor mutations and mixations. The era and the cyclone dont have the dead space under the deck - i give mine a quick rinse, take out the cotton wick, dry burn the microcoil , rewick and go and I never get the residual flavors.
I swear Im not a spokesperson for vicious ant or anything but that is another plus of the cyclone atomizer and another reason why its on the top of my list
My smart ... answer is I hate that I love my wife's girly purple mini as much as my manly olive grand.

Serious answer switching flavor profiles can sometimes be rough. Going from a mint or strong flavor juice to something else usually requires a deep cleaning and a day or two of vaping to get rid of the old flavor.
I haven't figured out where but that taste gets trapped at times.

In an effort to stop that from happening I just decided to buy a reo for every ADV I have. :) Im on #3, Ive spoken with them all and they would be happy to get a Woodville brother for #4

The way I got around this (before getting more Reos) was to have one feed tube and cap dedicated exclusively to the strong flavor and just switch them out with the quick hot water wash when changing flavors.

I'm looking at getting a REO, I have heard and read about all of the positives of getting one, now I need to hear about the negatives of the REO. I want honest answers, now like "I hate how it always works" kind of answers. I have heard people mention stuff about the device shorting, how does that happen, how does one avoid it, and how do you fix it if it were to happen? What do you guys use as toppers on your REOs? I was looking at some RBA's on fasttech, they're a little cheaper than the REOmizers on the reowebsite.

Thanks,

There is more information and help here than IMHO on any other item specific forum. A good start is to read over the "stickies" and especially this one http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/270331-free-reo-forum-thread-index.html. They will answer most any question and provide valuable information; and maybe raise some more questions which you can ask here and get expert responses.

I'll be honest..I have a Provari and a few Sigelei mods... Then I built my own wood bottom feeder.

I was hesitant to pop for the Reo because of the $200 price tag...Reo Grand, Rm2, accessories, shipping...around $200 total.

I took the plunge on Dec 4 and bought my first one...a copper vein Grand with an RM2.

Once I got it in my hand, it is well worth every penny...seriously...I have found no other flaws.
Numbers 2,3 and 4 arrived in my arsenal within the next two weeks!

I love em...I'm sure you will also!

Welcom Cptfunpants:

I see your interest has brought you here, awesome. You asked for honest negatives so I'll keep this short and concise for you.

Cons (my opinion):

- Some flavor changing really does call for the ordering of a couple of spare bottle and tube kits with your Reo. Certain flavors are going to leach into plastics, there is no getting around it. This is such a trivial inconvenience though...

- The Reo's contacts don't handle the extreme end of Sub-Ohming below .5Ω well. The Spring is made of some sort of soldering material that will start to melt above 10 amps or so. So once you get below .4Ω your starting to trigger that safety spring with the heat generated from the current draw. The firing pin can start arc easily once you start vaping below .6Ω. I vape at .6Ω and my pin requires a filing and Noalox application about once every 3 days to keep it running smoothly. There are new contact components coming any week now that will eliminate this problem.

Honestly, that's about it Sir. Get your building skills perfected on your RM2 and you've got yourself a dependable, portable, leak free 6ml device that performs as good or better than anything else out there.

The only negative I can think of is that in the mini 2.1 I had troubles with 100% vg juice feeding properly (probably user error...I have 3 grands so I just switched the 100% vg to a grand).

Also, it's impossible to stop at just one Reo. I started with ego's, went to a couple of Provari's right away. Since I got my Reo's one Provari was sold, one is an ohm meter. A expensive ohm meter.

For the flavor creep, I found that most of the time all I need to do is take out the oring in the bottle cap and rinse both the cap and the oring really well when I switch between flavors that don't mix well.....but more Reo's solves this.

In regard to kicking the Reo... Robert will prepare your reo for a kick if you ask... Just don't plan on keeping it that way for long :)

Never went mechanical before the reo... Had four kick variations... Sold them all. 18650 batteries last too long for me! I always worried about the battery dropping too low, but it never happens! I check my batteries at the end of every day, but I never get below 3.7! And with 6 batteries in rotation, I always have a fresh battery for the next day!

Take it froma convert, get it kick ready but also get read to love the Rm2 and hate using your kick! Ha
I went from two 18490 batteries a day ( and having to bring extra battery because of it) to just rolling out with my grand every morning with a fresh battery and full bottle

If I'm not mistaken I believe the Reo was designed with VG in mind. (thicker juice would spill less out of bottom 510 airholes in traditional atty's)

I know I read that somewhere here. LOL :p

I have seen one user that said the REO just wasn't for them. It was because they liked to change flavors all day and found it difficult to change flavors at the frequency they'd become accustomed to.

You could always put a top fed dropper on it....... But that kinda defeats the purpose of a bottom fed mod.

Why so many Reo's?

The Practical answer:

I have two. They both get used, but for all intensive purposes one is a backup incase of loss/theft of the other one. (emphasis on loss/theft 'cause the Reo isn't going to break)

Most Reo owners tend to only use their Reo's after a very short time with it. I can easily see some people kind of getting bored from not having to buy new stuff, and end up buying another Reo just so they can have a different flavor/coil build laying around. Kind of like how some people rock 10 different carto-tanks or clearomizers. It's obviously not necessary, but there you have it.

Within the next few weeks I'll be up to three because I plan on picking up an LP Grand when they come with the new parts standard. I'm not a huge collector though, and may find three Grands to be overkill for me, in which case one lucky person will get a great deal on a Grand in the classifieds, or I might want to trade for a Mini.

edit: of course I'm not speaking on thinkingaboutit's behalf!

Some of us are not interested in the other RBA's. We can use the RM2 and be very happy!

I for one am not interested in modifying a dripper RBA for bottom feeding. I don't care if I don't have the most expensive RBA either.

The RM2 is a beast. I get everything I need from it.

My vv grand with rm2 bottom feeder is my go to device. No leaks and dead simple to use.

My only point if sadness is Rob isn't making vv grands anymore :( if he was I would have 3 or 4 by now.

Why so many Reo's?

You could ask others, who have multiple different mods - why so many mods? You really are going to need to try the REO to "get it". I have four of them, and plan to get more. Why? Because nothing else satisfies me like the REO - not even my Provari with KFL+ clone on it.

It's minimal maintenance for maximum return on flavor.

Each one of my four has a different flavor on them. I was happily engulfing myself in vapors last evening watching the news while the BF was shaving. He came into the living room waving clouds away, while I was sitting there grinning like the cat who ate the canary - just happily rotating between flavors.

I had not responded to your OP, because I honestly have nothing negative to say about my experience with REO's.

Oh - but I use RM2's only right now. Might look into a BF Cyclone, but I have no complaints about the RM2's - I have 5 of them (the brass one is waiting for the Woodvil's).
