I have not used stacked batteries before, I have heard they can be a risk in units that are not designed for them. Now I do understand the Buzz Pro is made for stacked batteries and has the safety circuits in place. But my question is, is there any special steps that need to be taken when stacking batteries in units with the safety circuits?

The same as for other pv:
Don't use batteries with obvious physical damage (deep cuts or dents)

Check the voltage coming off the charger periodically. If batteries are reading over 4.25, generally it is time for new batteries or charger.

Use vendor-recommended batteries. Ask first before trying something different.

If a battery coming off the charger is obviously hot, not just a bit warm, put it aside.

Give batteries at least a little time after taking them off the charger before using them. Personally I'm happy with about 15 minutes, but opinions vary.

Its an excellent pv, I've used one since they first came out, and a notcigs infinity before that :)

Nancy, just mark them in sets and keep the sets to use together. I just use colored star stickers so that I know the red stars are 1 set, blue stars are another set, etc. The batteries we sell on the Notcigs site are also protected batteries.

Never, under any circumstances use a non rechargeable battery in any PV!! Other than that, Mark covered it pretty well.

And welcome!! Ask all the questions you need :)

Not only should they be paired, they should be numbered like 1A & 1B, 2A & 2B. The battery in the front works harder than the batt in back. So it's best to use A in front then B the next time. It is not imperative to do so, but it is good for battery health.

................. Oh and you'll LOVE the Buzz Pro !!!!
