Hi, I am looking for high wattage TC mod which has SS TC mode and upgradable firmware (I know the firmware is not that important, but I hate the feeling of being left behind). Currently, I know IPV5, Kanger Kbox 200w,smok r200, and smok xcube 2. Can somebody give me some advise? suggestion for other modes is also welcome.
Thank you!

Whats your budge? IMO mod suggestion requests are always going to be kind of biased b/c people are going to recommend you what they have or had experience trying.

With that being said if $ wasn't an issue look at a mod with a DNA200 or Yihi SX450 chip. Both fire up to 200W, has temperature control for nickel, titanium, and ss.

JoyeTech and their Eleaf and Wismec subsidiaries have been an absolute steamroller the last six months with their firmware updates. No one else comes close.

And it's not bug fixes... it's consistent, useable features, added value.

But... that just has to start slowing down. What's really left to add? o_O

I think Kanger is out (for now) because of their still dodgy take on TC.
SMOK is getting a good amount of love, but the latest I have of theirs is the xCube.
I only have the D2 from P4Y and despise the menu, but you can't ignore their ~150w mods.

For budget value though, I just keep coming back to the JTech stable.
And don't dismiss the 100TC. First week, the firmware bump was to 120w. High enough?

:p

Hi, thank you for the suggestion. I think IPV5 has Yihi SX450 chip and is powered by dual battery, which is more compatible than mods with DNA200 (usually needs three cells). Am I correct?

IF you are on more of a budget, an RX200 or a Cuboid may be right up your alley. Both are more budget oriented, and have good TC for SS, and both do 100+(RX200 does 200, and Cuboid does 150/200 depending on the firmware). And both have upgradeable FW
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I hear about a lot of good information about RX200, and I tried it in a vape shop couple months ago; however, I don't like its outlook and it seems a little bit heavy to me. I quite like Cuboid 200, its outlook and the function come along with it. Can you share more information about Cuboid 200? I would appreciate it.

Are you talking about Eleaf 100w TC. I have to agree that I love Eleaf, and I currently using eleaf tc 60w. The issue is that I currently changed to Uwell Crown tank and get a lot of SS coils; as a result, 60w output would be somehow limited. In fact, before I bought my eleaf 60w, I was struggling with eleaf 100w tc with 60w for a long time; now I feel a little bit regret. Would you feel 100-120w is enough? Coz my past feeling make me feel wattage is never enough, you always want more and more. I would also like to see if eleaf is going to come up with their next high wattage mod. Your thoughts?

Basically its a 2x18650 Regulated mod, has a standard Joyetech chip. Right out of the box the Cuboid does 150W on the stock firmware, and can be upgraded to the latest version with a maximum of either 200W or 150W. Joyetech gives you options on the firmware so you can choose your power limit, both versions have the same features. SS body, fits nicely in the hand, has enough weight to feel like a quality piece, but not so much that its extremely heavy. Hands down the smallest and best regulated dual battery mod at the price point. Fits my Kennedy 24 perfectly with no overhang so up to 24mm atomizers are a nice fit. Only drawback I can say is that the paint on mine(Black version) has chipped some, and seems a bit weak. But the SS version I have heard is absolutely flawless.

The cuboid is a GREAT little mod for $40. It fires up to 200 watts with the upgraded firmware and it fires SS/NI/TI in TC mode. I would say the Cuboid and RX200 are probably the top of the list right now in affordability and functionality.
Hi thanks. Another dude also recommends these two. I think I probably will go with cuboid for more portability

Yea the RX200 is pretty heavy with the 3 batteries. I am probably going to order a Cuboid very soon. I just cant resist getting one much longer. I also want a Presa TC100!

Note that you'll exceed the safe limit of the batteries by using 200w on a two-battery mod. The limit for 20 amp batteries (most batteries used for vaping; Sony vtc5, Samsung 25r, LG hg2 etc) is around 120w. With LG hb2, hb4, and hb6 you're good for about 180w, but you'll only have 1500 mAh of capacity per battery. With a third battery you increase the maximum wattage by 50%. Also note that rewrapped batteries such as MXJO, Efest, and so forth (pretty much anything but Sony, LG, Samsung, and Panasonic) lie about their battery capabilities. There are no true 30 amp batteries over 1500 mAh, no true 20 amp batteries over 3000 mAh.
