hey all,

I am looking for a good 5V mod. I notice there are a lot of 6V mods on the market. Why are there so many 6 volt mods when most people report harsh taste and burnt liquid at that voltage? Is there a reason for this when 6 volts seems to be at the very upper end of the range where liquid is still vape-able?

There seems to be a lot of native 6v mods like the silver bullet, Omega, Indulgence, etc but not too many 5 volt mods. I know about the VV with Darwin, Provari, etc but they are expensive. Im looking for an economic straight up 5 volt mod in a tube shape.

Should I go for a 6 volt unit if I am trying to use a voltage that hits the sweet spot with a HV atty or should I be looking for a 5V?

Any help would be appreciated.

Roughstack w/ 4.8volt batt.

I had a look on the Madvapes website. It's a 3.7 volt. Which battery should I be using? The site doesn't mention anything about using a different type of battery on the Roughstack to increase the voltage, so is it safe to do this?

No matter what the wait, you will not be disappointed with your 5v GLV-2. Congratulations on skipping all the lesser options and choosing the best!

Be nice:)

Some of the lesser units have advantages of being more user serviceable, safer no batt stacking, less than half the price, more pocket friendly, less parts to break, no energy wasting resistor, etc.

The GLV-2 looks like a sweet PV but best is subjective. In my opinion the best is an e-pipe.

Good choice anthony! I have the GLV2 and the wife loves her Mini (3.7). I also have a silver Bullet but only use it at 3.7 volts because 6 volts is just too much. I don't know if it is recommended but I have used 2 3.0 volt batteries in my GLV2 for an even lighter hit. I haven't measured it but it feels like 3.7 volts maybe less. Anyway you won't be dissappointed just stock up on ICR 123's (3.7 volt) batteries they're only 750mah.

The 4.8V is 4 stacked NiMh batteries. Not sure it's "safer".

All 4 should be identical and will always see same charger exposure.

Some buzz about people buying "identical" batts from same vendor; reportedly the batts labeled same on outside but were actually different spec.

I'm not interested in marking batts and always charging at the same time...just too lazy.

If Santa brought me a GLV-2 I'd forget my concerns and stack batts like a mad man:)

There is a GLV3?

I can't wait for my GLV2 to come! I've even considered getting an Indulgence from an Aussie site just so I can vape at higher voltage while I am waiting for the GLV2 to come. It's only $50 and would give me a 6 volt experience (even though I am sure 5v is optimal)

Thanks Samwest,

I was only able to get two ICR123s as the site appears to be out of stock of batteries. I am sure I can pick up some more here in Australia. I always thought AW batteries were the best. Is there an equivalent AW battery to the ICR123?

I might get a couple of 3.0 volt batteries as well if I can find them.
