Hi all!
It is my first post on the forum. I knew about e-cigs for a long time, but a couple of months ago I decided to finally try it. I bought a cheap one from a 7 eleven called njoy or something like that. And while I have hardly smoked a real cigarette since the e-cig is quite terrible. So right now I am looking for a good kit to buy, and was wandering if the veterans could make some suggestions. I understand that everyone may be different when it comes to this choice so here is a bit of info about me.
When I was smoking analogs they were Marlboro lights and would smoke a pack a day.
I would prefer an e-cig with a whistletip, since I imagine they are more comfortable to hold in your mouth than the round tip once, which is what I have at the moment. I would also prefer to have some sort of a carrying case. I am willing to spend $100-$150 to get started with a good set. Any advice/suggestions from the more experienced members would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

if you don't care if it looks like a cigarette you can head over to liberty flights and pick up a riva for arround 30 with the 20% discount code then buy a bunch of juices to see what youll be interested in. if you want something with a whistle tip and to look like a cigarette you could buy a 901 or 510, the 510 has allot more support and you can find them relatively cheap. with as much as you have to spend i would pick up some extra batteries, atomizers, and some cartos to try out and some sampler packs of liquid

Cignot.com has the best prices and the best customer service. They even emailed my mom through the process and she's been off analogs for over a month! They also have fast shipping and once, when one of the 510's I bought wouldn't charge they sent me another one, no return hassle- just sent. Wonderful women empowering a group of people just trying to change in a positive direction.

for cig size you want a KR808D-1 or slim 510, very short battery charge life though. For longer charge life you want a 510 fat battery eGo, Riva, T Rex etc, or a 901 fat battery such as the Riva 901. I would highly recommend using cartomizers (atomized cartridge) instead of a atomizer and cartridge. I hold my Riva in my teeth a lot by using a drip tip with a lip on the end, I prefer the delrin drip tips from Liberty-Flights.

yeah +1 with perma, riva, ego or even a mod might be an idea, the 901 and 510's wont last you very long.... the riva, ego and mods have longer lasting batteries wich is why most will choose one of those, look around and check the reviews on some that peak you intrest and you cant realy make a bad decision, have a good day!-)

Well I have used some cheaper models that friends let me puff on. I bought an eGo and like it a lot but I just picked up a GoGo for the "all day" puffing option. I saw some flat tips for it but I can't remember where... sorry

For juice, these guys have a good rep and a tobacco sampler pack

I do not recommend a Gogo as your first ecig. I think a person's first ecig should have a popular threading and have parts widely available.

Riva 510 and Ego are great choices

If you are not ready for a fat battery model (and most new vapers are not) then look at Joye 510 w/ manual batteries at Cignot.com (short battery life of 1-3 hours, with cartomizers is about cigarette length), Joye 510 w/ mega xl manual batteries (128mm w/ a cartomizer, 60% more charge) at FreedomSmokeUSA.net in black or steel, look elsewhere for white. With the first two I recommend Boge 510 standard resistance blank cartomizers (you cannot use the LR ones on slim batteries). Or for a simpler and less flexible system see KR808D-1 w/ standard manual batteries (LiteCigUSA.net for plain low price kit or Vapor4Life for colors and prefilled cartomizers).

If you buy auto batteries I will be disappointed in you so just don't.

Here is a flat tip for the 510/eGO

As far as the GoGo as "not your first".... not sure there. If I had more battery capacity in my eGO I doubt would be buying another kit so soon. If the kit is working to your satisfaction there is not reason to mod it and run other mix and match stuff. There are some adapters for the GoGo now also if you want to run a KR808D-1 Cartomizer on it. Just my opinion. ;)

Don't waste you money on the slim sized models. I wouldn't even recommend a regular 510 unless you don't mind changing batteries every hour to hour an a half.

A good starter is the Riva or eGo 510. They are the size of a slim cigar and will give you about 5 hours on a charge. Unlike what some have stated, they are not "fat" by any stretch of the imagination. Stick with manual batteries and get eliquid in the 18mg to 24mg nicotine level. This should get you started in the right direction.

Good Luck

Re whistletip - yes you can get carts (for use on an atty) for 901 and 510 atomizer and I imagine for the wider Ego atty too with whistletip. Downside is carts suck in a number of ways.

Most people prefer dripping and/or cartomizers (you should only drip on manual batteries and cartos are also safer on manuals - if they leak it will be right over where you can damage an auto battery)

I use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on stuffing-type cartos (Boge cartos for 510, V4L ones for KR808D-1). I mostly use ones from LiteCigUSA.net. A lot more comfortable shape for the lips and more comfortable temperature on hot cartos.

And here are some Whistle-tip tips - may be a tight fit in cartos but worth a try - just look at those that say Whistle-Tip Drip Tip

I like the e-power as well and I will probably get one when my eGo batteries give out.

For a number of reasons, I don't think a go-go by itself is a great idea for new folks. If you get the 808 adapter, a 901 atomizer, a drip tip, and some 808 cartomizers along with it, it's not necessarily a bad choice. Use the drip tip to sample juice for flavor and use the 808 cartos to vape until you settle on a juice flavor and nic level. After that you can think about filling one of those monster go-go cartos.
