Welcome to the Club of vaping :)

I would say that you just think that you want red marlboro flavor, but i am sure you are gonna love fruit flavor much much better. Try some in local vape shop. I dont know how many are there in Canada.

Really good starter kit and also good backup is ego twist/vision spinner 650/1300 mAh with aspire nautilus mini.

Check some youtube videos for kayfun 3.1 and make up your mind if that whats you want. Kayfun gives you better flavor and vapor then aspire mini and you dont have any costs for replacement coil heads, because you make them by urself with kanthal and organic cotton. Mechanical mods are a bit tricky for noobies but on the long run much better and also cheaper.

Hi and welcome to ECF! Glad you are thinking about quitting!

Mechanical Mod's are quite an advanced item and you should probably stay away from those until you get into gaping for a while.

You will likely want to start on a Variable Voltage/Variable Wattage (VV/VW) device.

Go here: www.myfreedomsmokes.com and look at their starter kits.

There's a lot to learn! Do some searching on the forum as it's just overflowing with information! It's actually better to google what you're looking for and include 'ECF' in you search and it will bring you right back to this site. This site's search function has a mind of it's own and can be kind of frustrating.

Good luck!

Hello and welcome!

Mechanical Mods are not recommended for someone new to vaping. They do not have any safety features and require a lot of time, self education, and equipment to operate safely.

That said, there are many different e-cigarette that are great for both beginners and long time vapers that have all the safety features included. Below are some blog posts by ECF member Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.

1. A Good Starter's Setup for a Beginning Vapor
2. Advancing Up the Vaping Ladder with Egos and Mods
3. Proper terminology - Is it a carto, a tank, or what? A Guide to Juice Attachments
4. Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

Welcome to ECF and hope your vaping will go well and get you off those wretched nasties.

I personally stepped up from one point to another, finally arriving at getting my first VV mod, I went with Provari because it came so highly recommended. But there are limitless options out there that are far cheaper in cost, and best to try those to see if you'll even enjoy vaping and want to get off the real deals.

Most of the comments have addressed good starter kits so I thought I'd voice my opinion on liquid flavors for you.

A LOT of vapers end up, or even start with, the more exotic flavors being fruity or sweet or whatever. Personally, I've been off cigs for over two years thanks to vaping, and I STILL only vape tobacco flavors.

You're not going to find a match to the real deal. At least I didn't. And honestly, the few times they came close, the liquid had a wretched chemical aftertaste to it.

I enjoy fairly robust and/or stout tobacco flavors. Two of my favorites come from Heathers Heavenly Vapes. Those two are part of their "purity" line and are called Legend and Sludge. My all day vape comes from Alien Visions eJuice and is called Boba's Bounty.

Just a few suggestions you might want to try once you begin vaping..,

I would recommend getting a tank with replaceable coils and that has air flow control. The air flow control will help you since you can adjust how tight or loose your draw is. I highly recommend getting a good battery mod with replaceable batteries. If not you will be upgrading soon. No flavor of juice is going to match cigs. Sorry to say that but its true. If you have a local vape shop you should visit it and see if they will allow you to sample flavors to find one you like. They can also help out with explaining different mods, tanks, etc. Personally I use a Kanger aerotank and an e-lvt mod. But your personal preference is what matters when you step into the world of vaping.

Hello, and welcome. Congratulations for reaching the decision to quit smoking.

I would recommend you start out with a cheapish starter kit, just to try it out and see what you like about it, what you'd like from your next setup. Everyone has different preferences and one person's ideal setup might not suit you at all.

An EVOD starter kit will give you 2 batteries, 2 tanks, 5 spare heating coils for the tanks, and a charger. I would recommend it as a good starter kit. As a minimum, you will need 2 batteries and tanks, and a few spare coils.

As for liquids, you are not going to find anything that tastes quite the same as a cigarette. They generally taste a lot better! Your sense of taste is likely to change as you quit smoking, so I would recommend buying smaller samples of different flavours for the first month as you may not like them after that. But once things settle down you can start buying larger bottles which are better value.

I decent starter would have to be some kind of variable voltage and/or wattage device like itaste by innokin or a vision spinner. I would also highly recommend going with a tank that has an airflow control like the Aspire Nautilus or Aerotank. In terms of juice I know of one person who makes it out in BC called westcoastclouds. Their customer service is top notch and the owner always respond to emails. Check them out if your interested.

I agree with V1K1ng1001. The innokin itaste MVP2 is a great mod to start with. It's easy to use and the battery last a long time. You can find these anywhere from 39.99 to 59.99. Look online for the best price. Buy a cheaper battery for your back-up, like the Vision Spinner.
Kanger ProTank 3 is a good tank to put on the MVP2, but there are others out there too. This forum will help guide you, it's helped me out a lot.
