I've experimented with a few different wick materials but not cheesecloth yet! Why exactly do you prefer it to silica? Is it the "health risk" some talk about or something else? How do you prep your cheesecloth? I wanna try it!![]()
Better taste. I read several threads on the forum about wicking material and most everyone agreed cotton produced the best taste or, messed up the taste of your juice the least.
As for prepping it, I cut off a nice sized section and boil it for 20 minutes then lay it flat on a towel and let it dry. When it's dry cut a piece about 2" long and 1" wide and roll it up to be a 2" long wick, roll it as tight as you can and use a fly tying needle threader ($3_$4 on amazon) to get it into your coils or wind your coils around it (good luck)..... it takes some practice and I am still learning myself but that's how I do it so far...
