as the title says recently i tried a harbor freight micro torch (butane) to clean coil and wicks but quickly found this is a crappy and dangerous item it leaked butane and would not come on after a week returned it and got a bernzomatic seems to work fine but now i am concerned after the previous experience and am on the lookout for a really high quality micro torch any suggestions?

Just picked up this BernzOmatic Kit for $20. It's nice but you will need a lighter to get it started. Nice thing for me is it also has soldering tips so I can work on mods and repair my battery's without having to setup and wait for my soldering station to warm up.
The torch is light and about the same size as a wide tip sharpie

I use a Blazer GB2001. Originally used it for brazing copper, but works well for builds, even if it is a little large for that duty.

I use the same, need to be careful with it though, it will actually melt higher gauge kanthal pretty quickly. Blazer makes the best torches on the market.

I just read the product description...

Ideal for: Automotive repair work, electronic systems repair, plumbing, jewelry making, dental work, optical repair, soldering, heat shrink tubing, activating caulking/adhesives, HVAC and other professional repair shop work.

I don't know about you, but I don't want any part of dental work that requires use of this "tool". LOL.

Been using a similar model for a couple of years. Has worked great so far.
