Im a total beginner at this and recently bought the eGo battery and kit from modern vapor in Chicago. While I like the system, i have found that at any angle other than straight up, the juice leaks in through the mouthpiece causing a mess.

Is there any better system I could use either a brand new unit or a tank that would fit the battery?

Heres a link to what I have and thanks... Buy Atomizers for Your Electronic Cigarette from Modern Vapor

That looks like a CE4, a top coil. If you like the experience, try a Kanger T2; also a top coil, with replaceable atomizer. Mine don't leak, but there's occasionally a bit of condensation.

Bottom coils tend to leak, a bit more, produce a colder vapor, and may mute some flavors. If that's your cup of tea, Kanger T3S.

I've used this type clearomizer for a lonnnng time.
I have found that the condensation will build up in the drip tip and you will get it in your mouth... yuck
To stop this, I've found that I release the buttom, before I quit drawing on it.
That way the "vapor" is not left in the drip tip and doesn''t build up.

If it's actually driping out of the drip tip area, it's got a problem.
If you'll notice that when you screw the drip tip in, it creates a seal with the siicone top on the coil.
Make sure it is fitting right. If that connection is not made, the juice can leak out.
Mine lay on their sides 24/7 with no problem.

Also make sure your O'ring on the drip trip is ok ... it may be torn, not fitting right, or displaced on the tip.
That will allow leakage also.
These are good clearomizers and should not have a leak.

If you have a vape store around you, take it in and let them look at it if you can't figure it out.

I second the recommendation for a Kanger T2, I've had all kinds of clearomizers and this is my favorite. I have about a dozen of them and the heads seem to last forever. :)

Another vote for the Kanger T2. Still my favourite in spite of all the new kids on the block. Excellent clearo and proprietary to the eGo. PS - always go for the real deal and not cheap knockoffs, as the latter can frequently have problems. T2 at 2.2 ohms, and you can buy replacement heads for them. I just had to wave a sad goodbye to one of my T2's that I've been using for 6 months. Love 'em.

Let's see if we can fix what you got.

If it's leaking a lot of liquid when on it's side:

Did you screw the mouth piece back in place? Sounds dumb - but it's an easy thing to forget. Especially if you have to push firmly on the mouth piece to get it down in place first.

Depending on the type of this clearo, there will be a very thin o-ring that seals between the mouth piece and the clearo tube. Some times that o-ring can get away from you and get out of place. Either rolling down the mouth piece and ending up well below the point where the two pieces screw together. Or being stuck to the edge of tube at the top, and coming off and getting lost when you pull out mouth piece.

Check to see if you have the mouth piece screwed in place and also look to see if that o-ring is there and if it's out of place.

It looks like what you have is an eGo battery with a Modern Day Clearomizer. The eGo battery is a very popular model. In fact the majority of people I know use an eGo battery of some kind. The Modern Day Clearomizer that comes with it I have never heard of. Fortunately because of te popularity of the eGo battery you have a ton of clearomizer options. Your battery should work with all clearomizers that have either a 510 or eGo connection. Their are quite a few quality units available, some are mentioned in this post...for example:

I've never had any problems with my vivi novas.
I

vivi nova mini here, not a leak one, just have to ensure instead of cranking down hard on the caps crushing the really soft silicon gaskets, snug the caps don't hork down on em

I have been trying quite a few different clearomizers lately and I can agree with these posts. The Mini Vivi Nova is definitely one of the better tanks I have tried so far. With the mini vivi nova I have had no issues at all with leaking. Most clearomizers will not leak. However this can be hit and miss. Sometimes even within the same model. If your tank is going to leak it will be while upside down. Buy a unit that others give the thumbs up on. Make sure it is assembled properly. Do not overfill (common reason for leaking). Try and keep the e-cig right side up or horizontal as much as possible, just in case :).

Kanger T3 and MT3 are inexpensive and don't leak. They are bottom fillers unlike the ce4. I have also tried the Kanger Protank 2 and the Cylo both about $25 I like them but I enjoy a quiet vape.. these to me have an airy sound. Both are heavy too. They don't leak and they allow the flavor to come through. My top pick is the Ismoka.. I live this one.. cost wise it's some where in the middle at about $13. No leaking, no airy sounds, and the flavor coming through is awesome!

I don't think there is a "perfect" setup out there...........eventually everything will break down and you'll get some leaking, the question is how much you are okay with.

Began with eGO's and T2's: really good beginning setup and worked well. Vapor was warm as coil is in the top. When the coil gets to hot (seals expand) or it starts to go out...it'll leak down through the air tube and onto the battery from bottom of clearo. Once to much gets down there, it'll roll right down the eGo. Works great with thinner fluids but you need to get rolling the damn thing to make sure the wic is kept moist with fluid or you'll burn the wic. Thicker fluids (IMO) don't work as well b/c it's fighting gravity up the wic to the coil.

Now, moved up to a mod. The mod came with a vivi nova top coil tank. HATED IT..........leaked after completing first tank - tossed it.

We got the T3S BCC from Kanger and a couple ProTank 1's. To date...working great and NO LEAKING for us. Others say you cant use all the fluid...I do and no issue. Gonna get more but will be ProTank 2's to try the draw. PT1 is a bit on the airy side, but not a deal breaker and I don't get any flavor loss at all.

Just gotta keep trying and soon you'll find a setup that works for you.

I have not tried Carto-Tanks (IBTanked and Phiniac) but it's on my short list to compare to the PT's
