Thanks everyone. I've been off line for a while, had some internet connectivity issues so if I drop off and seem a little ignorant, that will be why.
I've had a look over at Steam Engine and plugged in a few numbers to work out what gauge wire I would be better with but I'm still not sure. Assuming I want to build coils at a range of different resistances between 0.5 and 1.6, what gauge wire would be most suitable? Would I maybe need wire in a couple of different gauges?
I'll take a look at the information in the links provided. I need to acquaint myself with ohms law. I don't want to blow myself up.
