Hello everyone. I have been vaping a little over two months at this time. I am very satisfied with my 510, although, I think it is time for some tew toys. I have been searching for a device with longer battery life and higher preformance (not necesairly voltage), without being too large and cumbersome. I want something I can take with me without looking like I'm weilding a pipe bomb. At this point price is not really an object.

I have been browsing through the endless number of mods out there, namely things like the Silver Bullet and Chuck. Although these mods look like they have fantastic preformance, they are simply too unweildy and impractical in my opinion.

I have been looking at the Janty Stick and Ego/Tornado as well. While these things look practical, from what I have read, their preformance is not a whole lot better than a stock 510. On top of that, the Stick is more box-like. I want something that is more of a cigarette-like shape while providing me outstanding vapor and throat hit on the go. I can't seem to find anything to fit the criteria, are my expectations just too high?

I'm just looking for some feedback and other ideas. Something to get the mental juices flowing, you know. Any help is appreciated.

I have to suggest the eGo. I do not know what you mean by that the eGo performance is not better than a std 510, I would say the performance is better. You get to use your 510 atty with a much better battery life and the added cone gives the eGo a much warmer and richer draw. If not that I would have to make the Protege as my 2nd choice, good battery life and draw as well.

From my understanding the Ego operates under a slightly lower voltage than the standard 510 batteris. Although, it should sustain it's voltage longer than a standard battery which would give it more consistent preformance. To me, there is no point in buying an expensive battery and charger, when I can just get a PCC for less if I want battery life. Although, the Ego is still intresting to me because it looks just plain sexy.

See this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/joye-510/65055-battery-voltages-surprise.html

I guess that leaves me with the options of the Prodigy, Protoge and Bartlby... which I assume operate at a true 3.7v. can anyone confirm that? The Bartlby is less expensive than the other two, but how do the battery life of the three compare?

I am leaning toward a Prodigy or Protoge because of the fact that they look real nice, with the exception of the "cone" feature which would be the icing on the cake for me.

That is very intresting as well... as soon as I found out Vapor King KR808 batteries actually run at 3.7v, I am considering purchasing a couple along with a 901 to 510 adaptor... maybe a PCC for cheap as well. This would allow for 3.7v vaping on the go, without having to use an oversized battery or mod.

And of course from that point, I could always get some low resistance 510 atomizers to simulate a 5v+ vape. Haha just kind of thinking out loud here.

As far at cartomizers go, I would rather refil my own carts. Cartomizers are more expensive than refilling, right?

Also, does anyone know what the KR808 PCC holds in the way of atomizers, cartridges and batteries? Would my 510 atty/adaptor even fit in there?

Protege V1.1 from Puresmoker.com with the standard 2.3 ohm Joye 510 adapter and atomizers. It will blow your regular 510 away.

Everything you need for about a hundred bucks.... 2 batteries, charger, atomizer of your choice.

Plus it doesn't have any of switch issues that the V2 had. I haven't had one misfire on my Protege yet and the battery lasts forever... like 2 days for me sometimes

... and its one of the smallest mods out there... its about the size of my ring finger

Not to sound like a salesman, but I have one and I think its one of the best values out there

I'm with Dox on the Vypr 510. I have a black one, I'm using the Low Resistance atties from Nhaler, and I love my stainless shorty T-Tip. It's small, looks cool, and vapes like a smokestack. The 14500 battery lasts forever, and I'll generally change it out in the morning before I take it to work. The size of the Vypr is just perfect, and it is a very solid feeling device. Even with standard atties, it performs much better than my Joye 510 does, regarding vapor, flavor, and throat hit. With the LR atties - WOW. Really. Highly recommended.

I have both the eGo and Protege. Both are great devices and you can't really go wrong with either one, but both have advantages over each other.

The Protege uses 14500 batteries and runs a true 3.7v. The batteries are very inexpensive and last a long time. You can get 4 or 5 of the 14500 batteries for the price of a single eGo battery. No LED, and the switch takes some pressure to activate. It is less likely to accidentally turn on in a pocket.

The eGo runs 3.1v, exactly the same power as stock 510 batteries (which do not actually run 3.7) , but with higher MAH. It is very light, half the weight of the Protege and half an inch shorter. The cone is very nice, and shields away any moisture from condensation or leakage. The vapor is strong and consistent, it is definitely a big step up from a 510, and the battery life is excellent. Batteries charge fast with the rapid charger and the switch clicks on with a light touch so you know whether it is activating.

I don't think there's that much difference in vapor and taste between the 3.1v and 3.7v, but the eGo does provide slightly cooler but equally delicious vapor.

Both look great; the eGo looks and feels like an expensive high-tech gadget, and the Protege is obviously a well crafted piece of hardware built to sustain years of use. Both deliver plenty of vapor for hours.

I tend to take the eGo out and around because it's a little more pocket friendly size. Both units have great battery life and I would be happy with either one.
