Looking for a quality vaping solution

Hi,
I'm pretty new to vaping, about a month now. I am currently using V2 e-cigs. I have 2 auto batteries and 1 manual. I started with the basic pre-filled cartridges and tried out every vapor strength till I settled on their strongest 2.4% Congress flavor solution. I like the taste very much but find the throat hit to be very inconsistent and weak at times. I then decided to go with their refillable EX blanks and though an improvement in vapor strength it still has inconsistent draw and throat hit and some times spits a bit of the fluid in my mouth plus the tanks runs out very quickly.

I looked into getting a better cartomizer for my v2 batteries, specifically the e-smart clearomizers but after stumbling across this forum I am not convinced that is such a good idea.

I am looking for a good, quality solution to vaping, rather than using battery adapters and different tanks with what I currently have.
If I need to go with a new setup all together to "do it right" then so be it. Better than wasting money on a half makeshift setup.

What I need in my setup is basically a standard cigarette shaped vaporizer. Nothing massive. Longer and thicker is fine such as larger batteries or tanks than what I currently have. Something I can still put in a pocket. I do like the flavor of what I am currently using but I see that many here talk about 20-30% nicotine liquids. That may explain why my vapor seems so weak so often causing me to take deep, long hits.

Your recommendations would be very welcome.

It made a world of difference from the V2's. From there I moved on to a very large mod, the Innoken Itaste 134 with a couple of tanks. That made another world of difference. Much more pleasurable vape! My suggestion to you would be, if you're undecided, to go with an Ego set-up. That is, unless you are convinced you want to continue to vape, then go with a Variable Voltage and/or Variable Wattage type of mod. Read around on this forum, there is a TON of info to learn. And welcome!

I'm definitely sticking with vaping. I've been smoke free for a month ever since I started with the V2's. Problem with my v2 is they just don't cut it as far as vapor quality consistancy, battery life, etc. I figured there had to be better products out there which provide a better vaping experience.

I'm no stranger to modding and hobbies. I start up a new one every few months. Since i'm sticking with vaping, I'll need a good regular setup for present time and then get more familiar with things before I venture into the mods.

I totally get that! In that case, I would first suggest a Ego Twist or Vision Spinner with any type of tank/mini tank that you decide on. They are both basically the same, the Ego is a little bit longer, and the Vision is a little bit thicker, but both will serve the purpose while you shop around for a more permanent, more expensive mod. Also, even after you get a bigger mod, the Ego/Vision will make a great back up, and serve as a great battery for when you want a more pocket-able vape. I'm currently at work right now (graveyard shift in the tower of a large airport) and I have my Ego in my shirt pocket so I can take "stealth vapes" from time to time.

Another question I have is regarding the liquid. I currently have a 50 ml bottle of pp from v2. I like the flavor of it. Can I use it with the Ego? Is there a better liquid I should consider for the future?

I'm not sure what you mean by pp liquid? But if it's a Propylene Glycol/Vegetable Glycerin mix, then that's pretty much what everyone else is using.

Ego Twist w/ protank 2 mini for on the go is a great setup and a Variable Voltage of your choice (Vamo, MVP, ProVari) w/ a Pro Tank 2 is what i would recommend for at home, I take my variable voltages out with me everywhere i go but it would be considered bulky by most. Protanks are easy and cheap to upkeep costs about a dollar to change out your atty.

I was just looking at the Protank 2 mini. Together with a Ego twist or Vision spinner looks like a good combo. The larger Protank 2 seems good for home, maybe to bulky for carrying around I think.

I'm guessing I would need a couple batteries and mini tanks for getting through a day on the road?

I wouldn't cast off E-Smarts. They're good little clearomizers. I used them for my Halo 808 batteries, and I'm still using the 510 version now on an ego. They are part of my discreet vape along with Vision Nanos. Good flavor and vapor and no mouthpiece condensation or liquid in mouth in my experience.

Or you could just upgrade to a Vision Spinner and an Aspire/Protank II/Vision V-Fate Glass/Evod/iClear16 or 30 etc. etc.

The bottom line is if you stick to vaping, you will probably upgrade to at least an ego battery. A 650 mAh is pretty small and discreet still.

I would look into the iTaste MVP. I have one and it is awesome. It produces awesome vapor and can be used with just about any tank (or delivery system) out there. It has ego as well as 510 threading. It comes with the iClear 30 tank but I use mine with a protank 2 (among other things). It also has variable voltage/wattage. It has a huge battery life (it is a 2600mah battery). Mine stays charged for AT LEAST 2 days at a time and I vape A LOT! The MVP is also a pass through battery so you can charge and vape at the same time. One more cool feature is that it can actually be used as a charger for your cell phone or Ipod/pad/phone. This would be great in an emergency (like if the power goes out or you are stuck somewhere without a charger). Look them up. They usually run about $80 but I think 101vape still has them for $39. (if you want one and they are out of stock just e-mail them- they might tell you they are getting more in).

Now for juices: there are soooooo many out there. This is where you can really have fun. If you have a local vape shop go in and try a bunch of flavors. If that is not an option then I would order a couple of samplers from some good vendors. I like Alice in Vapeland (they have a sampler called 'A Little Bit of Everything' that gives you a 3ml sample of every juice on their regular menu. I liked most of them. But they are not the only one with good juices. There are LOTS of great vendors out there! Just look through ECF and see what people are talking about. There is a TON of good places to buy from. Just remember if you are looking for a strong throat hit then get a juice that is high in PG and if you like a smoother vape with LOTS of vapor then go for a juice heavy on VG.

I'm currently using a Ego and a Protank 1 at work. It's really not that bulky. If you're looking for something to get you by on the road, as in driving all day, you might want to look into a Pass-through. You can use it while it's plugged into a charger.

And yes, you should be just fine using your V2 juice.

Here are the current kits that I highly recommend to new vapers. They are a great price and are both smallish. I wish these kits were at these prices when I first upgraded from my cig-a-like system. You can totally use your current juice in either of these kits. The first kit is a good one, with very reliable tanks and batteries but the batteries are not variable voltage, which is a great way to dial in your vape to where you really like it. But it's a little cheaper. If you want to go for an EXCELLENT kit with variable voltage, go for the second option. Good luck!

Although I did get pretty good vapes from my Halo stick batteries and an E-Smart, Vision Spinners and better vaping devices gave the flavor, vapor, and especially, throat hit I needed to quit smoking. I had to work to hard to get that with cig-alikes.

The Evod starter kit is also a good way to start but more than likely you will end up getting a pro tank or pro tank mini in the future because of tank cracking liquids and the evod being made of plastic. A standard Ego Battery kit will come with 2 of them, meaning your can have one on charge and the other in hand or just do what i did when i had an ego set up and have both in hand w/ 2 tanks to alternate flavors throughout the day. If you get a Variable Voltage Battery the battery life will last you all day in most cases, my ITaste MVP usually lasts me 2 days of battery life, it also allows you the option of charging your phone off of it, it has a USB Port on the unit its pretty cool.

Welcome to ECF! A good set up is important. I started with an Evod starter kit and it works great. You have some good suggestions, I would just like to add something for you to consider. I know you want small as many have said in the beginning including me but that could soon change. Remember you need back up and back up for your back up. You don't want to be stuck if something quits on you. The MVP was suggested earlier and I second that. I purchased one thinking it would be used at home because I thought it was too big to carry out. That lasted two days! I love it so much it goes everywhere with me. My Evod is now my back up and both vape wonderfully. Good luck on what you decide.

With the Mini Protank, you replace the atomizer head after it wears out. They usually last about a week until they need to be replaced. You can clean and dry burn them regularly to extend the life of the head as well. You can even rebuild them if you so choose to.

If you go with a Protank, one big positive with them is that the replacement heads are cheap. Cheaper than most others. Around $6 for a 5-pack.

My experience is that flavor is pretty clean and pure. Draw is airy than most so you have to get used to that. I did get used to it myself with the Protank 2. Nice glass tank so you don't have to worry about any liquids.

Personally I've never had any device that lasted for 20 refills before I had to change the heads or clean it. Maybe around 5 before the flavor starts to diminish, more or less depending on liquids and the device.

Just saw that the Kanger Mini Protank 2 Starter Kit -VV was out of stock. Just waiting for them to restock.

My brother in law rcently started vaping about a month before I did. He showed me his setup which was a Vapor Shark. Looked like a bazoooka next to V2 and hit like one too. How does it compare to the Kanger Mini Protank 2 Starter Kit -VV?

Another question. Can I use a Protank 2/3 with the starter kit? The mini tank is great for on the go but at home the larger tank would be beneficial and are the coils the same with both tanks?
