I have an achilles clone that fits your description. It's my favorite rda by far. I only know of one place to get it. Achilles Atomizer Clone / Titanium RDA / Achilles RBA
It has adjustable but limited air supply more than adequate for mouth to lung. It's designed to hold a lot of liquid with no leaking and it succeeds for me. I have put 60-70 drops in it and laid it on it's side with no leaking. If you try that use just enough wicking to reach the bottom of the drip well and allow the wicking time to fully absorb it's share of the liquid before topping off. The leak resistance works because the air supply comes from the bottom but fed through a tube that rises above the deck then the barrel is a bit taller than normal so the free liquid can pool there without overflowing into the chimney or air supply tube when on its side ( assuming you didn't over fill). It easily refills from the top cap. I can vape it for hours at work between refills and it has never leaked in my pocket.

this is just 4 that work very very well in single coil mode.
there are many many more out there but the 4 above I have and I like.

I just bought a Hobo V3 clone for $9 from Angelcigs. It will do single or dual coils and comes with an extra bottom feeder pin. I think it's better than the original.

Not all clones are janky, Steve. Some, like ones from Hcigar, are improvements over the original.
I second both the Achilles (OUTSTANDING VAPE and it NEVER leaks!!), and the Magma (outstanding vape, but it can be leaky if you overfill the well -- anything past half full is overfilling -- and you also need to put a spare 15mm o-ring under the AFC ring to make it stay put).
For a tighter draw, the Achilles is your best bet -- the draw is so tight, you can turn down the power a little, which saves on ejuice. Magnificent vape!!

Dot Mod RDA works well. I saw some people build the coil between the gap of the post, it's very interesting.
Check Out Mt Baker Vapor. They have a lot of stuff you could look at. I believe they sell RDA. If not you could always check out Vape Dudes as well.
You might want to look at the Flash E-Vapor. It can be used as a dripper or a tank depending on how it's assembled by you. Single coil device, too. Get the Hotcig clone version if you do get one, better machining.
I've never found a simpler single coil rda than the Igo-L. I have used the Derringer which has 2 ways to orient the air holes for single or dual coils but prefer the Igo. The Igo-L has a pretty small air hole, which I like, but if you need more you can enlarge it.
Find a few you like in your price range then hit youtube and watch reviews and see if they have options for single coil builds
