I have been reading many posts over the last couple of weeks trying to make a good decision on which e-cig to start with. After reading much of the valuable information posted in these forums i decided on the Absolute MaXX starter kit shown here:

Absolute MaxX - Absolute MaxX 900 mAh Mega Starter Kit - Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarettes | E-Cigs from Smoore

Ah, yes I'm a newb and still trying to figure everything out. I hate making the fist post asking for directions, but there is soo much info here so be it.

What recommendations would someone have with purchasing this product, accessories etc.

You'll like the life on that size battery. Good call!

You want to make sure you have at least a couple spare atomizers, one spare battery, some blanks carts, and at least 20ml of juice to start with. The last thing you want is to run out of something suddenly and find yourself biting your nails while you wait on the postman, or going back to cigarettes.

For juice, get a few small bottles of different flavors and strengths. It is impossible to predict what nic level a person will need (it doesn't always correlate with how you smoked), but as a *general* guideline, light-to-medium smokers should try 12mg and 18mg, and medium-to-heavy smokers should try 18mg and 24mg. You may find both works, one works, or neither work and you need to try something stronger or weaker. But it's a place to start.

Once you find flavors you like and get an idea of the nic strength you need, order more juice right away! It'll go pretty fast. Most people vape 1ml-4ml a day.

Looks good, there was a typo where once they refered to the battery as 9000mAh but two other places they said 900mAh which is right. As far as juice follow Mistress Nomad advice. I would consider in addition one high 36 mg and one low 6 mg. You can combine in various ratios to get strengts in between 36 and 6. Example 1 part 36 and 1 part 6 would give about 21mg, one part 36 and 2 parts 6 would give about 16 mg. Did not see one on the site but may want to consider a drip tip from where you order juice if they have them in case you want to try dripping.

I have only been vaping for a month or so now, and in the time, Ive spent countless hours sitting here reading forums, threads, watching how-to vids, and youtube. I also have purchased serveral different size batteries, and waaaayyy too many juice bottles!! LOL! yet, I have only purchased one e-cig kit, and have been vaping happily since it arrived! the joyetech 510! I got mine from ecig supply.com and the price was great. I've also heard many others rave over the 510 as well. It is, in my newbie opinion, a great starter kit! which included 2 MANUAL batteries, 2 attomizers, wall charger, and 5 pre-filled cartridges (all for $35!!), In retrospect, I should have ordered a bottle of juice with it, but, oh well! anyways! I've also purchased a 'pcc' (personal charging case) for my 510 batteries, which is a total lifesaver! it is the one thing that makes vaping easier! you no longer have to wait by the outlet, on a wall charger! one quick 4hour charge every 2-3 days and your set! I constantly use mine, I charge one batt while I use the other, and always rotate like that. So, all in all, I would suggest starting out with the joy 510 kit, a pcc, and bottle of RY4! (or whichever flavor you like? starting out, Ive gathered that most ppl like to have that 'tobacco' flavor, atleast 10-15ml ) that should get you off and running, or vaping I should say!
hope this helps, it sure saved my life! (not to mention my lungs!lol) :^) Happy Vaping!

That company is in china after shipping you could do better getting one here in the states on sale as far as price. If there is a problem you will have to ship it back to china , it costs us alot more to ship to china then it costs them to ship to us. If you were going to save money i would say go for it but since they charge 15 for shipping your not going to save any money. I would look for a eGo here in the states with xl batteries.

Thank You all so far for this great advise!

Java_Az, that was exactly my though purchasing from outside the US, I am really looking for a supplier in the States for all my eCig needs.

Vini, I will be checking out this site, especially since everything can be purchased in the US.

udamnskippy, Thanks this also looks like a good site & in the US.

MistressNomad, Thanks for that vid and I must say you might have convinced me with the 510, and it seems that parts are pretty accessible from many places. You don't recommend a supplier in you vid. (which I can appreciate that your not pushing) with saying that which place would you recommend?

This has also been my problem, swaying back and fourth, this looks better, no that looks better.

I really want to make a choice today, I'm getting information overload the last couple of weeks! LOL...

Well that first kit you posted is basically a 510 it just has bigger longer lasting batteries. It takes 510 atomizers and cartomizers. Something that might help you decide how important is battery life to you? Does it have to look like a cigarette? How important is warranty to you? If you can answer those questions i could help out a bit maybe.

A newbie here although i have "lurked" on this forum for weeks. I ordered the eGo and don't even miss smoking analogs in my first few days. I paid a little more for the genuine Joye eGo from cigno.com, but am very happy with it so far. Two complete eGo's with cart, atamizer, cones, fast charger, and batteries for $$70 delivered. I also ordered ten extra pre-filled carts and a drip tip. They shipped same day and it was delivered in two, fantastic service.

I ordered the sampler pack from Johnson Creek and I really enjoy trying the differant flavors. Excellent starter kit with excellent service from them too.

I would like longer battery life, as my new job is in the field and have limited ways of charging other than a car. I think to start I would like it to look analog. If it's a well known and used brand, I could give or take the warranty.

If it looks like analog, depends on how u vape, you can get from 1 to 2.5 hours of battery life.
While Riva type will give you 4-6 hours, YMMV.

Plus there are mod boxes - they use $5 [4-6 hours] batteries and it's easy to carry bunch of those in your pocket.
I use MadVapes 2xAA Box Mod with slow change LED - good over all for field operations, but yesterday I ordered one Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510 for everything else.

Well how do you like the looks of that kit you posted. It is basicly a eGo knock off. They have good battery life. Really the cigarette looking ones are not great on batteries unless you are a light vaper. I can drain the battery in one , in less then a hour sometimes. Most people will get about a hour and a half to two hours out of them. Where the eGo 650 batteries will last at least 6 hours. The kit you posted was basically eGo 900 batteries they will last about 9 hours under heavy vaping. How much do you smoke a Day? although this doesn't for sure determine if your going to be a light or heavy vaper it could give us a idea. You can also add a 510 battery and charger on top of a eGo kit to use for those social occasions where you want to look like your smoking a cigarette. The atomizers from a eGo kit will work with a 510

eventually average vaping counts at 100-150mAh per hour, so do the math.

and before you spend 80 or more on Ego with 900mah, think about Riva for $30 with 750mAh (best deal I've seen since I started vaping) - there is good chance it will become the only device you need for next 6 months or more.

I'm two months into vaping and over $600 in learning (808 batteries and cartomizers; mods; 510 batteries, cartomizers and attys; different juices).
You can do yourself a favor and skip $400 of not so useful stuff.
Still have to find your best juice - no options there and everyone is different.

Yeah i did a 510 for a little over a month and the battery thing got old quick. Really the ego is a great starter if your not to worried about how it looks Has a lot of additional options down the road. You should be able to get a genuine eGo for around 50 and change here in the states. A bit more for the 900 batteries.

Check out the xpower from Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA it is the same model. Kit comes with cartomizers instead of attomizers which many people prefer. I would add an attomizer to my order. You get free shipping with this kit and it would get to you quicker than ordering from China. Might cost slightly more than ordering from China, but you would get it in 2- 5 days as opposed to 2-3 weeks, plus you would not have to worry about customs conviscating it. Also, Shawn is a great guy and you can e- mail him if you have any questions prior to ordering.

Deal looks good.

As far as I know, XPower is modification of Ego with connector for the M301 - not a most popular model connector with little choice of cartomizers and atomizers. Not that many suppliers carry this model.

With 510 you can get cartomizers with resistance from 1.7 to 3.5 - wide choice to find your sweet spot, same goes to atomizers.
If you buy cartos (cartomizers) for Xpower from litecigusa, there only one type available and it doesn't even tell what is resistance.

Ive been vaping on my 510 for a good month and a half now. At the near constant vaping levels Im doing a normal 510 battery will last me between 2-3 hours tops. So Im am switching batteries out fairly often by vaping standards.

I just got my eGo yesterday, I charged up one battery ( 2 hours ) and started vaping on it. I havent switched batteries yet and Ive been vaping pretty much constantly. Its been 24 hours ( minus 6 hours of sleep )If you don't mind switching out batteries ( which I really don't ) getting a PCC for your 510 is pretty much a must. On the other hand, the eGo carrying case felt like a must for it. And its already been handy.

Other than that performance wise ( throat hit, vapor production, flavor ) is pretty much identical to the 510.
