Hi all,
I am somewhat a light smoker, ~ 1/2pk a day (marlboro lights) for the past 10 years. Smoking is my way of relieving stress and I don't want to give it up. That being said, we pass by the mall the other day and saw a booth selling e-cig kits, it got my gf attention and she has nagged me to look it up. So here I am! Been reading through the forums and learned quite a bit, hoping to minimize some of the damage by vaping rather than smoking.
I prefer the cartomizer type PV. I plan on starting out with buying prefilled carto and experimenting to find the right combo b4 switching to empty carto/refilling. I also like my PV to be light and portable while having decent battery life. I really like what i see with the new bloog maxx fusion, it's too bad that the Ultimate Starter Kit is OOS. I am so eager to try the e cig that I plan on just picking up the new Eden starter kit by black cherry, I know it's bigger than the maxx fusion kit, but it doesn't look that big and have 2x battery rating. Plus they both use kr808 tip so I can swap with the maxx fusion later on and have the Eden at home while the maxx fusion will be with me at work. The new maxx fusion is fairly new, this will also give me sometime to read the reviews before forking about $100 for the kit. Any feedbacks? I want to thank ECF and all it's members for putting a lot of useful info into one place that allows newbie like me to read and research easier!

Are they both the same KR808? There is E9 aka KR808D-2, a model only favored by rebranders. Then there is the KR808D-1 which is the common standard recommended here for a 2-piece model and it is not thread compatible with the KR808D-2. The -1 model has more support in the original equipment market - adapters, prefilled cartos, etc.

And welcome and grats on getting into vaping. If you get the anything near the right equipment and some acceptable juices for yourself then odds are you will find it easy to switch totally to vaping. Many people here smoked 2-4 or more decades and lots of them are surprised at how easily and quickly they can switch. Some people have some rough spots or have to ease into it, but many can switch immediately because vaping's actually more pleasant.

I know some others have bought the Bloogs. Should be fine if you can find some reviews and it's KR808D-1 compatible.

I get mine at Vapor4Life.com for the cool colors. Iw as not much of a carto person but I have been seduced by the 901 atty on the KR8 batteries. A bit airy but nice and relaxing. I was a lights smoker so I am not looking for the biggest hottest hit possible. Just a nice mouthful of tasty vapor. I got my standard 901 atty (not the LR - that's for fat battery version of 901 or KR8) and carts (they are whistle tips) at LiteCigUSA.net because their cheap shipping is great for all size orders. Also got an aluminum drip tip there since I have manual batteries and I think the hole in the end of Vapor4Life batteries is blocked off inside with the manuals. I mostly use the whistle tips - so comfortable to drag from.

First, congrats on making the switch - with all of this new, sexy technology, making the switch has never been easier.

MaxX fusion is a newer, redesigned 808; it is better technology then the dated KR808D-1s - I have a review at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...7-ultimate-analog-experience-bloogplanet.html so I won't go into the finer details.

The Bloog is the Cadillac of the 808s; hence, they run a little more expensive - but not that much more expensive as to put their product out of arm's reach. Until another company, not excluding Bloog, develops the next generation 808, the Bloog, IMO is the best and newest of the 808 series.

With that said, a 1/2pad smoker on the 78mm bat should get nearly a full days worth of vaping on a single charge. I compare this to my wife who averaged 1/2-1 pad -- and, since I'm responsible for keeping her equipment ready to operate - I find I'm charging her batt every other day.

Then, with that said, the older 808 tech is still a very good value, and for the price, what, $12 bucks now for an 78mm auto from MyVaporStore? What a steal!

At the risk of sending a few folks spinning, I will say that V4L recently had a number of manufacturing inconsistencies with a few batches of their batteries - which is one of the reasons I don't recommend them. Very frustrating to learn that you have to run steel wool over the threaded end of the batt in order to get the cartos to fit properly. OTOH, all of the first timers I recommended 808 tech to didn't have an issue with the batts (sandpapering the batt was not an issue for them...) -

Overall, I'm happy with LiteCigUSA (cartos), MyVaporStore (hardware, including batts, pccs and pts) and would recommend V4L providing they improve their QA. However, you will not be dissappointed with Bloog.

GrimmGreen just did a review on the Bloog - check it out on youtube.

Hi Papabloog, yours & grimmgreen reviews is what drawn me to the maxx fusion. Given your experience with the maxx, what do you think about this order:
2 - 78mm batteries
1 charger
i know i want a case, just not sure if the normal case will do i need the PCC, does it hold the same content and the only difference is that the PCC charges the bat as well? just want to make sure i have spares even i am not exactly a heavy smoker, thanks!
in terms of cartos, i want to start out w/prefill, so u have any flavor recommendation? i know taste varies by ppl, but since i am new, just seeking opinions...thanks!

I'm going to respectfully jump in in favor of the DTMB Eden. For sixty bucks, you get double what you do from Bloog (ONE battery? Seriously?). Donttouchmybutt is also a family-owned biz where customer service is handled by the owner (that pretty much had me sold). Their cartos are super-easy to refill and have really nice no-poly filler material. I'm sure the Bloog is great, but "double-price" great? I highly doubt it. Have fun, whatever you decide. :)

That's all you need - as a matter of fact, being heavily vested in 808 tech, I bought only 1 batt + 5 prefills initially to see what the fuss was about. My PCC I got from LiteCig for $14 works as well as the one offered by Bloog (for the 78mm standards) - I am waiting on new PCC with the LED displays which I've heard rumor will be available in a month or two.

i know i want a case, just not sure if the normal case will do i need the PCC, does it hold the same content and the only difference is that the PCC charges the bat as well? just want to make sure i have spares even i am not exactly a heavy smoker, thanks!
I haven't had any issue using a generic 808 pcc - and, you're correct, the PCC is used for charging on the go - would recommend this because you never know when you're going to be out-of-sync with your batt charges.

in terms of cartos, i want to start out w/prefill, so u have any flavor recommendation? i know taste varies by ppl, but since i am new, just seeking opinions...thanks!

I really dig the Kamel - which is now my wife's fav and only vape - I think she's going to be a prefill forever. Dr. Vapenstein got the Reds pre-fill and enjoyed those - In general, my wife being and ex-menthol lover - well, we still have not found a menthol flavor yet that one could pass off as an analog. The cartos are Dekang juice - Made in China; so, now - I order blanks and get my juice from BwB.

I'm going to respectfully jump in in favor of the...

Respectfully, your data is misleading. The starter at DTMB is 79.99, an equivilent starter from Bloog is 99.99 for current 808 tech, plus a PT and an extra carrying case easily worth the additional $20. What DTMB doesn't say on their site is what type of equipment they sell, something that Bloog doesn't do either. But, from what I can tell, the batts look like typical 808s, made in China, packaged all pretty and sold for twice as much as MyVaporStore --

If this is a typical 808, the best you'll get from this DTMB batt is 280mAh whereas the MaxX Fusion is the latest, state of the art tech, that has superior electronic components on the inside and are 320mAh all in the same form factor - this is 20%+ longer use between charges. Additionally, these cartos are superior - they too have been redesigned and will not burn like the old, out-of-date, 808 cartos do.

*****Correction: I read further on DTMB site:
Battery Content: Lithium, 3.7 V-190 mAh

C'mon, 190mAh? The MaxX Fusion shorties (89.99 WITH the cool PCC) gives you 2x65mm both at 220mAh each. So, now - not only do you get a better set of batteries, but you also get more equipment also! And for the same price?
*****************

Certainly, a 2011 Cadillac will sell for more than a 2010 model. Live with it -- prices will go down, this is an inevitable truth. We live in a competitive market.

I believe Orochi is talking about the new Eden starter kit, very similar to the Ego kit but has the 808 connection, kit includes:
2x 650 mAh Batteries (1x Black and 1x Silver)
2x Cartomizer Covers (1x Black and 1x Silver)
5x Tobacco High Cartomizers
1x Quick Charge USB Charger
1x USB to Wall Adapter
It's $60 and I remembered seeing a $10 coupon which I think is a great value! But I decided to go with Bloog due to the smaller size and I like fit & finish better, if it actually does help me kick the analogs, then the $ is no problem. If i find needing bigger batteries, i can order the big bat mod later, but for starting out, i think the maxx kit or any other KR808/510 cartomizer kit will serve me well...ordered the bloog last night, can't wait for it to arrive! :)

whoops! :-/ Guess I didn't nail that one - is it too late to print a retraction? Of course, when comparing apples with apples, the analog-sized devices always seem to run a little higher cost - I've been doing tons of research on the analog-sized and am seeing this pattern pretty much, across the board. My guess is that, at least initially, folks are really looking for an analog replacement and want it to be as similar in terms of look and feel -

Looking at this Eden - appears to be a terrific value - manual, big batt, and 808 threaded? My apologies, I goofed...!

The Eden is made by smoore in china. They also make the same kit in 510 thread with either cartridges or cartomizers.
They also make these with a 900mAh battery. Refilling is something you will get used to pretty quick as most all on the forum have done.
My son has ordered a eGo kit which should get to him this week & already has a KR808D1 kit.
I have 2 KR 808D1 kits with a Eden coming this week as the FDA is seizing equipment again until they get through with their appeal in the courts. I have seen this on these forums & presume they will be giving us a hard time as they have a little too much power & don't understand this can help get people off analogs which are true cancer causers.

:vapor:louis:vapor:

PS I am a 48 year smoker that has quit the analogs for a month due to these devices & have no urge to go back.:2cool:
