I am fairly new to the forum but I can tell you about my experiences. The problem with asking advice about equipment and juice is that you will never find everyone agreeing on one thing. Many factors go into a vaping experience. You need to decide exactly what things are most important to you. I know you stated you wanted a menthol juice that could mimic newport analogs. I used to smoke newport many years ago before leaving menthol and jumping to regulars. However i did order a sample pack from Word-Up not to long ago and one of the flavors I purchased was newport 36mg strength. I found that the higher mg nicotine does give out a stronger throat hit when I tried it before I cut it. I cant exactly remember what it feels like to smoke a newport but ill tell you that juice def had a menthol flavor. I cut the juice with VG to lower the nic mg.

I scanned quickly through others posts so I apologize if someone has already told you this.

I found that adding some high percentage alcohol to your juice will definitely increase your throat hit. Not a lot just a few drops. Make sure it's everclear or grain alcohol (nothing with a high sugar content) I live in NY so I use Devil's Spring Vodka which is a 160 proof liquor because the availability of the others I mentioned is non existant.

Onto equipment. My first purchase was the 902 select kit from MV. I became unhappy quickly due to the short battery life and purchased a 902 PT and then a LUX all from Modern Vapor which both were a huge improvement. I also bought some LR atty's which tony calls ss902 atty's and really havent had anything to complain about. My desire for a Big Battery Mod though got the best of me and yesterday I ordered a Bombshell from Hot Vapes.

Again it's all about preference. Personally my 902 batteries just sit on my shelf now but it's just my evolution through the PV world. It'll be very hard to hit it on the head on try one but through research and reviews you'll get there.

This post is getting a little long so I'll leave you with one thing. I email Isaac from IkenVape back and forth and he sent me a chart of the different atty's available out there and what to expect out of them. If your interested shoot me a PM and Ill hook you up

It sounds to me like you got hit with the primer fluid they put on new attys for shipping (I guess to keep them from drying out). Have you tried blowing out the atty(s) that came with your Starter Kit? Put a paper towel under the threaded end and blow through the top hole until no more fluid comes out of them. Then prime them with some of your own juice and see if that makes any difference to the flavor.

Luci only sells pre-made cartridges. I've read different things and saw a few videos of people talking about how horrible Luci cartridges are. I've decided that I'm going to take Mlinky's advice and start over from scratch with the new kit. I've realized that the disposable one my friend got me from Luci was a 510. The throat hit, vapor production, flavor was vastly superior to the much smaller rechargeable version of their product. The more I've read about the 510's that other companies offer, the more I realize that they're more my style.

Not to mention Luci products are quite expensive compared to other companies. Heh and the fact that the starter kit I got for my brother came with 2/2 bad batteries. Neither of them hold a charge.

So I've placed my order for my new equipment. Other than getting a the Joye eGo instead of the Riva, I basically got everything Mlinky told me to get. I seem to always order things I really want on upcoming holidays and weekends hehe. Sadly I'm probably going to switch to analogs until I get my eGo in. The Luci's I have aren't even close to being an acceptable alternative. I guess they'd be fine for those who smoke ultra lights and other cigarettes with a very weak throat hit, but I need that burn to feel satisfied. So now it's a matter of waiting. I'll post again after I receive all my equipment. Thank you all for all the information/advice. If only I had found this website sooner haha.

I think you will be happy. The Ego is a great choice. PM me your address, and I will send you a lanyard. You will have everything early next week. Please post when you get it and let us know how it is going, and if you have any questions. Don't worry too much about the analogs. Remember, it is now just what you are doing UNTIL you get what you need. When you are first switching over, it is trial and error, and despite the postings of people who got their first pv and never smoked again, most of us continued to smoke (although in smaller amounts) until we found what worked for us.

actually the joye ego and LUX by modern Vapor are the almost the exact same e-cig and you can buy a battery and charger for the LUX for under 30 bucks and i have never had to charge a LUX battery before I go to sleep at night and plug it in and believe me I vape like crazy. Plus the LUX at modern vapor takes 501 atty's and the 902's that Tony sells. I am one of those people that bought a pv and never touched an analog again and that was even after i wasnt very happy with my first purchase I just was very quicl to upgrade to a better unit. Ive never used an ego but I am sure if what they say is true and its just like the LUX you will be very happy with your purchase

If these are even close to being as good as the Luci disposable e cigarette, I'll be very very pleased. I didn't even think about smoking an analog cigarette while I was using it. I'm really excited to try out all my new stuff, especially the fire and ice juice. I just had to redo my order for it though, got an email saying my payment didn't go through for some strange reason. But my new payment went through just fine. My order from vaporkings will be here on Monday supposedly. I hope the rest follows shortly after.

Woot!! I'm so excited for you!

The thing about a good pv, is that not only is it at least as good as a disposable, it stays consistant.

Okay so a follow up including more questions hehe. According to Vaporkings.com, this cartomizer holds 28-30 drips...I did 18 and it's WAY too much hehe. What would be the recommended amount of drips for this thing? (Low resistance boge 510 cartomizers) Also, it says they only last 2-3 days, is that really true? That seems like an awful short amount of time.

Anyway, I can just tell from the cartridges that came with the eGo...I'm going to like this. I really...really appreciate all the suggestions.

EDIT: I'm using the Mott's Fire & Ice PG80%/VG20% 18mg

LOL, never too many questions. You have to let it soak it if you are drip filling. Start with 15, let it sit, add 5-10 more, let sit, then some more. Some let it sit overnight. I avoid this by filling it with a syringe (plunged down the side & working around the carto) but others use the condom method/taryn spin. It is only necessary on the first fill...you should be able to add 8-10 drops any time flavor drops off a little. If it tastes a little "burnt" the juice hasn't fully soaked through to the coil. My experience is that they last longer than 2-3 days. I have 5 in rotation now for 3 weeks. One of them is getting weak, but I haven't thrown it out yet.

Ooooh, how do you like Fire n Ice?

lol Okay...I was wondering why it seemed EXTREMELY strong haha. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to really try it. I just now got the stuff in today.

It could be the Fire n Ice...pretty strong vape. Try dripping it...Just drip 3 drops directly on the atomizer, put an empty cartridge on, and taste it for a few puffs.
