Hey guys,
I was wondering about any suggestions for best analog look alike ecig. I was looking into the Joye 306, but wondered if any other suggestions. I was also wondering about what are good sites to buy liquids or prefilled flavour cartridges. Id like to have places that over low nicotine or 0mg. Also whats easier Cartridges or Cartomizers? Sorry for all the newbish questions just wanna make sure I get the right things is all. Also I was wondering is do you guys think blu, or volcano would work for a social smoker ? Thanks in advance

I think you are just about to get a number of replies that will tell you to stay away from the blu and go with a Joye 510.

Myself, I started with an eGo/Riva combo that has seen me through for 7 months of non-smoking.

Unless you have a particular reason that you need to appear to be still smoking cigarettes, I would recommend the eGo/Riva option.

Go with cartomisers, way better than carts, and make sure you have a look on UtUbe for refilling techniques. I find the "condom" method works well.

Whatever you think your reason for wanting a look-alike is, you will not care about that reason after vaping for a very short period of time. Do yourself a favor and go right to the longer lasting bigger batteries like an Ego or Riva. They are way more convenient and will help you a lot more than a PV that looks a lot like a real cigarette. You can get good cartomizers for them as well which makes them even more versatile.

Liberty Flights has real Ego kits on sale for $40. That is the best price I have seen for real Ego kits. I bought another one myself. I doubt that price will be around for long though.

If you are hung up on getting one that looks like a real cig, go with an 808 model. Most commonly called the KR808 or KR8. Many places sell this model. It has a longer battery life than say a blu or even standard 510 mini ecigs. It uses cartomizers which are a lot more convenient than atomizers and carts.

I myself thought I wanted something that looked and felt like a real cig. I bought a KR8 kit and used it for about 2 weeks before I knew I needed something with more battery life. Got my first Riva and still use it. The KR8 just comes out if I want to let someone else try it.

if you're a social smoker i think you'd do just fine with a Volcano and some prefilled cartridges, you get the nice little charging case that looks like a cigarette pack too. i think anything more than that would be overkill since you only smoke socially.

everyone will tell you to get an ego because they simply don't read what the users needs are. that's my biggest gripe with this site :p.

"analog look alike ecig. social smoker" does not equal go buy a big battery mod.

I think you more or less asked these questions in a previous thread, but I'll chime in again. I would recommend either the KR808, like TypeO said. The Volcano Magma might work for you, also. The reason most of the experienced people on this forum say that you should stay away from the analog look-alike's is simple; battery life. It all boils down to that one thing because the smaller the battery, the shorter the time it will last between charges. Even for a social smoker, this probably won't work. Say you have two of those batteries. Each battery is only going to last maybe an hour, if you're lucky, so you'll get two hours of vaping from them. At some point, you'll probably end up spending more time charging them than actually using them, and that will put a huge damper on your experience. Buying more batteries isn't going to really fix the issue because it won't be cost effective in the long run.

I agree with xg4bx. The volcano/blu is the most cigarette-like unit out there. But like the others said, they really lack in performance.

I would suggest a 510 with a white batt that has an orange led. Use a white or tan carto.

The picture below shows the size difference. Other than the weight, it will seem very much like an analog.

I also looked for analog look alikes, believing that it would replace my smoking easier. So I started with DSE901 and Joye 510 only to end up keeping them in a box and using my Joye eGo instead. It boils down to the manual battery. In order to hold the battery button with my thumb, I hold the PV differently than a cig. And the eGo is more comfortable to hold for me. I also prefer my eGo's lack of light at the tip so that no one can tell what I'm doing. I was with a friend for hours who asked me how come I was mouthing that pen. :)

The only good that came out of trying the slimmer PVs is that I like the DSE901 whistle tips which I combine with my eGo.

Just another vaper's opinion. YMMV. Good Luck!

The Boge 510 kit from madvapes.com looks feels and works just the same as the Volcano Magma but performes 10 times better..
I used the Volcano Magma until 2 days ago when I received the Boge 510 kit and let me tell you this baby rocks out some vapor.. its also half the price!
check this out http://www.madvapes.com/Boge-510-Manual-Battery-Kit-with-BLUE-LED-_p_2708.html
I would suggest getting a bottle of liquid to refill the carts they send you..
I actually ordered the mega kit which comes w/ the bigger battery and a bottle of juice and I am very pleased.

I'm going to disagree with the idea of going immediately to the EGO or any other big battery e cig. Some people still want the e cig to look like the real thing. I am one of those people, and I have been vaping for over two years. In that time, I have collected nearly every new gimmick touted on this board, I do have an EGO, and I am using it right now: HOWEVER, when I am out in public, I still want an e cig that looks like the real thing. I want that because it is what I am used to and it is what I like. Puffing on a box or other strange shaped tool still looks like someone using a crack pipe IMO. I don't want to do that, and to me, it truly does make one look like an addict. If I were you, I would first buy a KR808 D-1 like the VaporKing at Vapor4Life-Because it's your life - E-Cigarettes/Smoking Alternatives You can buy them elsewhere for less if you look around, but I keep going back to Vapor4Life, mainly because of the large selection of cartomizer flavors there. IMO, vaping is more enjoyable without the fuss and mess of constantly dripping on an atomizer. It's a true turnoff for me. You can buy a white VaporKing that looks like a real cig and add a big battery later if you wish. For those that say cartomizers are too expensive to be semi-disposable, I say hogwash. Marlboros are too expensive. Buy the pre-filled cartomizers, a bottle of e-liquid from Backwoods Brew, and be happily on your way to vaping. You can drip into the cartomizer when it starts to go dry, then replace it when it loses steam: thus semi-disposable. If you buy a three piece model like the Joye 510, you will constantly be replacing atomizers and cartridges, finding new gimmicks to fill the cartridges and new dripping techniques. Seems like a lot of bother to simply enjoy the experience of vaping.

i made a post a couple days ago. If your looking for analog look but still useable performance. I would get a white joye 510 and pick up some black cartomizers. The 510 works ok with the auto batteries and it comes with a manual battery. I got mine from totally wicked eliquid. They sell 5 packs of auto batteries. I got the cartomizera from litecig. White with black cartomizer is the size of a 100 analog ever so slightly larger around. I've used ecigs the size of a regular analog and they don't cut it imo.

A KR808D-1 automatic battery, standard length, with cartomizer (combined cartridge and atomizer, looks like a cigarette filter) is about the size of a 100 cigarette, decent battery life, decent throat hit.
Starter kits with two batteries, charger, run $30 - $45 online. I've had good luck with vapor4life and nhaler, also vaporsetc -- look for their latest coupon codes/sales.

My first PVs were kr808d1 manuals- they worked beautifully for me. I was off combustible cigs for more than 6 months before I tried any other models. I use a Riva and a smokestick Hendu now too. The hendu is small and very nice. the battery life is shorter- but it's the only auto battery that i like, it's fun in public too. If I'm traveling I take the kr8s, and use the Riva at home and at work.

I use either a KR808D-1 or M401 with fitted with an E2 cartomizer for my ciggy look-alike.

I've found the M401/E2 option is very good in vapour production, taste, throat hit etc. and I get a couple of hours out of the batteries. The cartomizer lasts at least as long as the battery between refills, a massive advantage over the original M401 cartridges (and similar designs like the Joye 306). The main disadvantage I think is the E2's are tricky to refill (syringe required). It is similar in size to an analogue. A PCC (charging case that looks a bit like a pack of cigs) is available keep the batteries charged up when your out.

The KR8 is somewhat larger, but again uses a cartomizer. The batteries on the KR8 are bigger, but it is still a reasonable size, and they are decent performers with the right cartomizer.

A pic of a few different types side by side (note the KR8 here has the largest battery size available on it, there are smaller ones)..

Go for it -- while I use the 808 now, the 510 family are fine products too. The key is to get started. Take advantage of the excellent sales.
(I'm about to go for one of the $30 Riva 510 kits -- liberty-flights is due to get them in pretty soon, I expect, I'm actually hoping to see them pop up within the next couple days.)
