First off, I mainly like to drip and rebuild new coils at least twice a week. I currently use organic cotton, which wicks fine. But I have been coming across more and more videos where guys are using Japanese cotton, some stuff called CelluCotton that comes in a box the size of your tv. So I was wondering if I could get a few ideas of an affordable method for wicking that would give me my nice clean vape I am accustomed to?

thanks, I will correct the spelling. is this something that I can just go get locally or do I need to order it?

Sally Beauty Supply sells the stuff, but only in large boxes. Either 500 Ft or 3 pounds. Only about $11 for 500 feet, which will last several lifetimes. The 500-foot box has the code 44060 on the upper right.

Don't get the 10' length, which is cotton; the box should say "100% rayon fibers".

The rayon looks a lot like cotton, but the fibers are much smoother and silkier. It is basically spun pure cellulose.

It wicks much better, and gives a lot more flavor from the juice, at least in my experience. There's a (very fast-paced) thread on it here:

looks like I can pick it up at my local Sally Beauty Salon down the street! Do I need to boil this stuff or is it a turn-key solution?

I don't boil it. If you do, boil it very gently (like a simmer, rather than a roil) or it will get snarled up, which makes it more difficult to work with. (Or you could compromise and just soak it in hot water).

I did see a smaller size numbered 44130, but I may as well just get the big dog and share the wealth. CelluCotton.jpg

So I bought me some CellucCotton.....and I gotta say....It's definitely a step up from organic cotton. I did not boil it and it took a good half-dozen pulls to get rid of the taste it comes with out of the box. It wicks well, easy to work with, great flavor and vapor production. While I only have had a small amount of time using it and plan to use it more. I would like to do a little more research on this stuff and the effects, pros and cons. If this stuff is as safe as organic cotton, you may as well call it CFL (Cotton For Life), considering you have to buy a humungous box that you and all your friends can use for life.

How is it different from regular cotton, other than being rayon? I mean is it easier to work with or more flavorful?
it's easier to work with and functions better as a better wick/doesn't require dripping as often as cotton..I find cotton to give me better flavor after playing with it for two days... probably about 30mL wasted on rewicking at different densities..

I would only use it in tanks, but that's just me..

I'm about to buy some porous ceramic..

Graham CelluCotton Beauty Coil - 40 ft - $3.18 - at Texas Beauty Supplies (for the cellucotton, haven't used it personally... Waiting for payday to place my order)

It's also available on amazon, however at about double the price... Gotta order 3 boxes from there ($7.00 minimum order, so I guess you could order 1 then a pair of scissors or something if you need 'em) tho.

Another option would be the Koh Gen Do cotton pads, again haven't used it personally but heard great reviews about it.

All that being said... I'm chain vaping on a fogger with huge clouds (sub ohm build) great flavor and no dry hits using just plain ol' organic cotton. Really don't see the need to upgrade at the moment.

Yeah it's been 2 days now with using the CelluCotton and I feel like I am forcing myself to like it more than I actually like it. I am used to 3X's boiled organic cotton....great taste and very easy to work with. Although it may be too early to give an honest true opinion of the product, I am still using it in both my current setups.

I wanted to ask you about porous ceramic? I have only had ceramic in my AnyVape Davide. And while I loved the flavor at first and for a while, both coils have this burnt taste now and I just never really got around to replacing the coils are attempted to rewick them. But I would like to try the porous coil maybe on a dripper. One of our local B&M showed me a piece of crystal that they were all fired up about using a wicking material. I will have to check back in there and see how they enjoyed it.
