Looking for first PV (mod)

Looking at a roughstack at the moment. I like the size and versatility. Also considering a little chuck. I'm not sure about atomizers and which would be right for me. Im looking for flavor, vapor production, and smooth hits. I prefer as little throat hit as possible, actually. I've been using bloog cartos for the last two weeks on bloog batts, and I like them, but it's time for a step up to something that will really satisfy my smoking habits throughout the day. not into box mods, especially anything predominately made of plastic.

As I said, I'd like some feedback on atty's and pv's. I have zero experience with high voltage or LR atty's, so I don't know what they vape like. Any information would be very appreciated. I'm trying my best not to waste oodles of cash while I'm embracing my new obsession.

Hey Vedra. Congratulations on the new lifestyle ! Please read a lot before ordering anything so there are no surprises. You will be better prepared and ready to vape right out of the mailbox. Been researching devices over the last week, but I'm still not sure about what kind of atty and voltage i'm looking for. Most modders seem to be looking for a big TH, and that's not something i'm interested in. Thanks for linking to the classifieds. Hadn't seen that yet. Not quite ready to pull the trigger, but im getting close!

I'm not that big on TH either, but I love the performance of my new (to me) 5v regulated box mod with a 1.6ohm triple coil carto. I have a feeling it would be even better with a bit more voltage to warm up the coils faster, but I'm getting loads of flavor and vapor if I take a long draw (or a few primer puffs) to give it time to heat up. The thing about multiple coil cartos is it's just like using multiple cartos. My 1.6ohm triple is the same as using 3 x 4.8 ohm cartos at the same time in parallel. With that much resistance per coil, higher voltage is required to push the requisite amperage through them in order to vaporize the e-liquid. I hope that little bit helps more than it confuddles.

I'm currently collecting the supplies needed to build my own variable voltage tube mod with multiple interchangeable connectors so I can use any of my assorted cartos and attys with it depending on what e-liquid I happen to be favoring at the time. There is sooooo much to read and learn; it can be quite daunting at first.

You should give either 801 or 901 attys a spin. They've got better vapor and flavor IMO (at least the 901's I've tried) than a 510, and are lighter on the TH.

Everybody has to find their own way, but FWIW my search ended after great expense, and not before I tried VV. Nothing else worked for me after that.

When you think about it, any fixed-voltage mod is little more than a pricey battery holder.

I'd suggest looking at the new Buzz Pro.

Vedra, I have been trying out many different mods, I am a Flavor junky and I need smooth, flavorful hits!! Heres what I have found to be the best combo when it comes to flavor an vapor production!! Empire Mod with Ikenvape LR901(this is what I use more than anything)!!! I'm not a big fan of throat hit, but when I need it I use the ProVari at 5volts with an Ikenvape 801 fusion carto!!! Whats great about the first combo is that the Empire will use any size 3.7 volt battery, as it threads up or down, creating either a small device or a large device..(I only use AW IMR's, they performs best for LR atty's). Then it's a native 901 device, so it works out great!! Then theres the key component, the atty. This IKV LR 901 is rated at 1.8 ohm, which isn't to low to cause a really warm vapor and increased throat hit.. Hope this helps

For less throat hit, look for liquids with higher vg content. A lot of standard liquids run 80-100% pg, which tends to have higher th.

Kickbassvapor and southern ambrosia are a couple places with good liquid, you can get with higher vg.

Yep, 901 > 510.

901 is far superior in flavor and vapor. 510 only offers slightly more throat hit.

I might add the appendage that TH is affected by nicotine content (higher nicotine level, stronger TH).

Why don't you try reading "The Wonderful World of Vaping" in the ECF Library and learn about the different type of e-cigs and mods. It'll give enough info to help you make your first purchase. Getting a mod as your first PV can be a major struggle, it's better to start of with a simple starter kit and figure out what you like and dislike first. That'll help a lot when you start looking something bigger and better.
