so I am looking at the eCig Starter Kit - 900mah

first ya all think it is a good buy? will I have a problem finding parts / upgrades down the road?

secondly what should I buy with it? I was figuring on a atomizer ( if that's right) for tasting fluids since I am going to get a few samples and I am going to be picky...

that said, from that site what should I get for it to test, I have no idea what would fit, I was thinking 510 Atomizer - 1.8 ohm (with tip) this but I don't know if it would fit.

any other ideas? things that will keep me going for the first month? till I start to learn what is what?

Thanks for any help!

I agree with Atlexus, that's a nice kit from a vendor I have used and trust. I also recommend trying some different juice delivery devices. There are many options available and they all work slightly differently. People like different ones for different reasons, and you will only know which works best for you by trying them yourself. Having some cartomizers, clearomizers, and maybe a mini Vivi Nova tank would be a nice start.

I made a picture dictionary of the more common juice delivery devices here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...minology-carto-tank-what-lol.html#post7562212

Many people test new flavors in an atomizer and they work well for them. I never cared for them, what I use are the ce3. These are inexpensive (5-pack for less than $10) and are reusable, so they are a nice investment. They only hold 1 ml of liquid, which is all you need to test juices. Just rinse, and refill with the next flavor.

If you are not settled on that kit, I put together an ideal setup from two vendors, that includes Discount Vapors.

so how can I tell what will work with the kit I listed?

I will look at your list but that is my primary concern for ordering, what is the buzz word that means the item is compatible with the kit I linked?

do I look for stuff called CE?, CE4?, eGo?, or 510?

I get most confused with trying to see what fits what battery?

The thing to look for is a 510 thread connection. eGo batteries have a 510 thread connection. Every device listed in the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/369128-what-kit-start-3.html#post8309522 and http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizers/343294-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-lol.html#post7562212 will be compatible with an eGo battery.

Just stay away from companies that do not specify what thread their devices use or are compatible with. The cigalike companies often use an 808 thread which will work on an eGo, but would require an adaptor piece.

I'd have to agree that clearomizers are the way to go. I've been using these ce5's from a local shop that blow everything else I've ever used out of the water. For lack of of a better word, these clearos are perfect. You could get a kit from them as well but I think they are a tad bit more expensive than the kits from discount vapor.

Anything that is 510-threaded (or says '510' somewhere in the listing, typically) should be compatible with the kit the OP linked. That's a good place to start out, is easy to handle, and should work really well to get someone going. :)

Also, the clearomizers mentioned by MadiTayl are fantastic. In fact, I really like clearomizers. I have rinsed and reused some in the past, but should you do that, I recommend using a milder flavored juice first... and anything potent in flavor (espresso-flavored juice comes to mind) tends to stick to the wick and make all future flavors a bit odd during the transitional period to a new juice. :)

for that specific kit you want things that use a 510 connection and try to stay with low resistance gear for now until you get something that puts out more voltage.

Agreed. However, should you find that your vaping experience is "harsh" or too warm with low resistance juice carriers (1.5 -1.9 ohm), you may prefer a "cooler" vape. I prefer 2.0 - 2.5 ohm resistance myself with 3.7 volt mechanical batteries.

Alright, in all honesty..I recommend buying from Apollo. They have a starter kits that are great. If you were to get one from there. I'd say buy the Apollo eGO CE4 Supiroir Kit. It comes with two 900mah batteries, and clearomizers, not cartomizers which are a lot easier and better in my mind. As for the clearomizers, I recommend buying the 6ml Titan Clearomizer along with a cover so it doesn't look funny. The batteries last for awhile, I'm a very heavy smoker and it lasts me probably about ten hours fully charged, sometimes more. It's also a standard 510 threaded.
For e-juice lasting you awhile, for the first month that is..I totally recommend buying from Alice in Vaporland. Honestly the best juice I have ever had, great value and AMAZING prices. Like, the flavors are insane. Great hit, great everything..hands down.
I have a set up very similar to this, a little more advanced, but I love it more than anything. Make sure you vary flavors. Know the difference between PV and VP. :)

so looking at discountvapors it seems that the kit I linked uses an ego battery but the 510 stuff is different??

for example
this is an ego and is female threaded
DV Mini Vivi Nova V10 2.0ml - eGo threaded

and this is a 510 and is male threaded
DV Mini Vivi Nova Tank Clearomizer 2.5ml -510 threaded

and this is the kit I am looking to get
eCig Starter Kit - 900mah

ya all say I should get a 510 threaded for this kit but discount vapors seems to treat 510 as different then eGo?

any info will help. Thanks.
