Looking for information on Tank options

Last year when I started vaping I don't remember these carto tanks. I've been looking up a few. The price point of a pack of cartos for a carto tank I saw about 14$ for 5 turned me off a lot. I really don't want to use carto tanks anyways if i don't have to. I'd like to stay away from the vivi if possible. Not sure if that's gonna be possible. Way back maybe 4 or 5 months ago I read or saw a video about some safety issues with vivi. Have those safety issues been dealt with? Curious if anyone knows.

So I really don't know a ton about tanks, but I do know I want to stay away from carto tanks. Although if you really want to vouch their case, I don't mind hearing it. I haven't tried it so it could help give me a better idea on them. So where have the non carto tanks gone? I love the vape of how a good cleromizer is working properly. That's what I'm aiming for or something better. The problem is my cleromizers are becoming very hit or miss. I'll need to at some point get about 3 tanks, as I enjoy different flavors. Lead me the way to non carto tank options, please! Links are encouraged.

Which ones leak the least? How much life can I expect out of it? The best tank for driving in the car long(an hour) periods? I can't worry about fiddling with a tank when I need to pay attention to the road. Sure goes without saying, but with ADD it goes to another level. I don't have meds. I really need to be able to pay attention when I drive without a tank system having a fit.

Well, I'm gonna throw the Vivis back at you. The only thing I've ever heard about any danger
with them is the same thing with any other tank or clearo that uses a wick. You might have
heard something about the danger of vaping with those wicks. Some people rebuild the attys
in them and replace the wicks with cotton or stainless steel mesh. But that would apply to any
tank that has a rebuildable atty - not just the Vivi.

I use the Vivi Nova and the mini Viva Nova and love them. Something similar has come out
recently called the Spitfire. It's available at Got Vapes. I haven't tried it yet, but most people
seem to love them and they seem to be pretty awesome.

I have tried two new clearos recently and I really like them a lot. One is the M3. It holds about
2 mil of juice, so that might get you to your next pit stop on your drive. The other holds a
little more juice, and might work well for your purpose. It's the Kanger T3. I get excited just
thinking about it

These are some serious clearos. Really. I love mine, and it has probably taken over the Vivis
in my vape routine. They are very easy to fill and they provide great throat hit and flavor -
better than the Vivis in my opinion. They run around 7 or $8, and they are worth every
penny.

They are a little scarce right now, but vendors should have more soon. By several if you
can in case there is another shortage. iVape has the eGo T3 on sale for about $5 right
now. They also have what's called the MoonBeam, and it looks to me to be the same as
the M3 I mentioned. Here's the link and good luck...

You didn't say what device you use. Since I prefer cartotanks, that piece of info would affect any recommendations that I would provide you. I don't drip, enough said about that. I've used stand-alone cartomizers, mega cartomizers, clearomizers, ce3s, and the Vivi tanks. My hands down favorite is the cartotank. Once set up, they are a no fuss, no worry about leakage, large capacity option that to me provide the best flavor of any of the previously mentioned coiled devices.

The is a small learning curve involved with cartotanks, but simply watching a good demo video on how to assemble and fill one will provide all the basic know-how. The toughest part for me was punching my own cartos, but I've taken that factor out of the equation by purchasing cartos with the number of holes I need for my juices already in them.

I don't know where you were looking at cartomizers at $15 for a 5 pack, but I agree that's expensive. I get mine here for $2 a piece. The come with lazer-drilled holes in my choice of one or two holes. Any resistance I wish. No duds in over 30 purchased. Each carto lasts me between 2-4 tankfuls of juice. I have found a new favorite tank vendor in IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us!.

These are quality, inexpensive pyrex glass tubes. Available in a slim diameter (19mm) nice for a Provari or Ego, or wider diameter (25mm) for a bigger mod like a Silver Bullet.

These tubes can be ordered in two tube lengths to fit your favorite cartomizer. Standard length for 35mm (Boge) or Long length for 45mm (SmoktechDC).

Clear tube prices start out at only $5. More for special decorative paint especially for pyrex glass.

Endcaps are available in stainless steel or acrylic.

You can get a fine pyrex cartotank here for as cheap as $20. I now have 5 of them and highly recommend this vendor.

Did you read anything in my post? If your mind is already made up againt using a cartotank, then I'm wasting my time.

$2 a piece for a tank-ready cartomizer, with a choice of holes and resistances, is not too shabby a deal to me.

I've tried the extremely popular Vivi Nova atomizer/clearo tanks that's all the rage now. Yes, they are super easy to fill and clean, but they leave a lot to be desired concerning their ability to deliver flavor. Side by side with the same flavor juice and there was no comparison, the cartotank's flavor won hands down.

What fitting does your box mod use? Which box mod do you have? I'm not sure how the eGo got into this discussion.

My original post did say I want to stay away from carto tanks, if you missed that bit. But people are welcome to vouch for them. So far a carto only lasting 2-4 juice tankfuls isn't sounding like a very good deal vs cleromizer that lasts at least a month give or take heavy vaping, using 3-5ml a day.

As mentioned, it's a VV box mod. Standard box mod, it just doesn't fit any cleros/tanks geared for eGos. Typical 510 threading.

i use the Vivi Nova (ive got 4 of them) and the IB Tanked pyrex carto tanks (2). they are both great. the vivi has a bit of a learning curve but really not that much learning. more of a maintenence curve. i love the top coil design- more TH. for my carto tanks, i punch my own cartos. i got a carto punch for six bucks from litecig. cartos can be had for less than a buck a piece. the carto tanks hit much better than a stand-alone carto. the carto si constantly jam packed with juice, resulting in a much more fulfilling vape. the nova is cheaper than a carto tank in the long run due to the ability to keep the heads going for longer, and the rebuildability of them. so moral of the story, get both

Are you finding you only get 2-4 tanks off a single carto? I was seriously considering a tank from ibtanked but not if I'm going to be going through replacement cartomizers like there's no tomorrow. I go through 4 tanks a day at least.

Right now with my vivi nova I'm changing coils weekly. They can go much longer, I just like to have a fresh one. I have 100ft of wire and a bag of cotton balls, all of which costs under $10, that will last me a year.

That was me that said that. Perhaps I should have qualified that. Most of my juices are coffee flavors that are all-vg and dark-colored. After 2-4 tankfuls, the polyfill starts to gunk up like a cig filter and causes the draw to become tight. Plus, I prefer the vape on a fresher carto, so maybe I replace them more frequently than other people.

Juices that are more equal in a pg/vg ratio and lighter in color will allow a carto to go longer. I've got some cartos going on their 5th or 6th tank refill with a light colored 50/50 pg/vg fruit flavor.

I've done side by side flavor comparisons with the same flavor with a vivi-type tank and a carto tank, and the cartotank wins hands down. Just my individual experience. Yours may vary.

You see the first three I got in the pics I attached in this thread. I've since gotten two more of the same slim and long size, again with the colored acrylic endcaps. I can't recommend these any more highly. Being able to get a pyrex tank of this quality for only $20 is an incredible value. They get more daily action than any of my more expensive tanks.

Remembered someone from ECF posting about surevapes have good prices on unpunched boges. Mix and match. 25 for $23.00 and 50 for $43.99. Been looking at a carto punch. I know that would last me a long long time. I'm still using the original carto from my first tanks.

Remembered someone from ECF posting about surevapes have good prices on unpunched boges. Mix and match. 25 for $23.00 and 50 for $43.99. Been looking at a carto punch. I know that would last me a long long time. I'm still using the original carto from my first tanks.

I hope you have better luck than I did with self-punching your own cartos. Keep us informed how that goes and how you like your Phiniac when it arrives. We will expect pics, you know.

i can get more than 4 tanks off a single carto, but as you say for the novas, its better to have a fresh one. its a matter of preference at that point. the novas are much more cost effective, but carto tanks are good too for what its worth.

oh, and the tape trick is working wonderfully for my punching. just tape the bottom tightly, punch, and there is very little deformation. works great for the ibtanks.

I think you'll be happy with your phiniac. The other day I had mine running with an 801 fusion carto and I guess the adapter made me fumble in the kitchen while screwing it off... bam! Dropped it right on the tile floor. Picked it up and was sure I'd cracked it like my siam tube but it took a lickin and kept on tickin'.

I need to put a plug in for surevapes also. I've purchased quite a few boges from them, boge-gate must've passed me by or I lead a charmed life, never had a problem yet. Anyway, surevapes is in Lakewood, NJ which I'm pretty sure got nailed hard by Sandy. I ordered a 5-box deal on boge cartos the morning after the hurricane hit and still got a shipment notice before end of the day. I was amazed, probably will have them by tomorrow.

As for a punch, I've been using that siam mod one from phiniac for about 2 months and still going strong. That vid on phiniac's web site gives perfect instructions. I run 70/30 pg/vg, so one hole, 3 1/2 turns from when I feel resistance and never had a problem. I've yet to flood a cartomizer except for one time due to my own ignorance from excessively dry-hitting it to suck more juice in and got carried away I guess. There's just a learning curve and a bit of a knack to it, just like anything else

I tried the vivi novas, rebuilt with my own coil/wicks etc. but it just seems like I always come back to my carto/tanks. I know opinions vary but I get better vapor production and flavor from my carto/tanks and it's consistent. I think the coil being at the top on the VVN just makes it too harsh for my old throat. Not knocking those who love them, I just gotta go with what works for me.

Now my phoenix rba is a different story, probably due to the coil being at the bottom. I put a vertical coil /w cheesecloth in that baby today and it rocks. I just dislike having to fill it so often and it really drinks the juice now.

I been looking at punches. I really like the $40.00 v4. And like the one from Phiniac also. Then remembered the local B/M is supose to get me a punch. Don't even know what kind. As long as its not a saddle valve it will be worth trying and ill go from there.

Yeah, I'd love to have that v4. It has alot of nice features including that cobalt tip. I used a saddle valve for the first week or two, cheap way out but a real pita the way it always wanted to slide off to the side of the carto plus they go dull fairly quick.

I bought two of them at a local hardware store. $4.00 each. I never got a hole punched in the stainless steel cartos. The needle was way to soft and just kept bending.
