Yep at the plant here in Richmond they can make 1 billion cigs a day if they run at 100% but when I was there they were doing 700 million a day or so.
It was also cool to see that cigs are just one big long tube of tobacco. The paper is a giant roll that is later cut and a filter jammed on there. So as the paper is unrolled it is seamed together as the tobacco is injected via air. It runs SO fast you can actually "karate chop" the tube of tobacco with the paper on it and the machine will not miss a beat since it is going so fast. Cool beans from a mechanical point of view.
