Good Day One And All........... Senile Old Man Don here. I truly am an "old geezer" - workin' on my ninth DECADE - and I have a bit of spunk left and vaping is good for me...... as if ya' didn't already know that, huh?

I've read pretty much from page one forward and checked the "PV LIQUIDS" site - read it as well. I'm only 61 days cigarette free and as with many started out seeking that "tobacco taste" - which is as far as I read and have been told does not FULLY exist. I began at 24% and that did it for me - but then the "throat hit" actually became too much and I cut down to 18% and am so far comfortable there; for now.

I began at and have stayed with a 50-50 mix and began using several KangerTech T3S Clearomizers the first month and the bought a ProTank2 and Mini ProTank2. I have NOT had the issues with the MINI PT2 - it produces a great amount of VAPOR and while I do believe it 'burns through' a bit more 'juice' than the T3S I can handle the added 'juice' I use - it's not an issue.

I also picked up a Innokin VV V3 just to what all the hoopla about "variable volts-wattage" was all about (it's OK I suppose) and found that with some 'juices' that came from online vendors it actually DID HELP "vapor production" (I am NOT looking for the cloud of all clouds - but I like more than the "poof" I seem to get with T3S and eGO-C or the PT's andeGO-C - so the Innokin helped a BIT. I concluded that it all depends on the RELIABILITY or the VENDOR as to the QUALITY AND PERCENTAGES of ingredients. My LOCAL SHOP vapes fairly well - the juice is not overly "thick" nor "thin" while "taste" is just "there" - I get it for the first ten 'hits' and then I am just "blowing vapor". ONLINE vendors vary - even from "juice to juice" --- they indicate the same 'VG-PG' yet two I bought from had both a very "thick" as well as a rather "thin" consistency --- again, supposedly still at 50-50. The "thick" had a lot of 'vapor' no matter the battery and the 'thin' had a fair amount of taste with a moderate amount of 'vapor' --- and as you can tell -- I don't really grasp "WHY".

I see the "PG-VG RATIO is 65-35" on the NiteLiteVapor product which I gather will provide a great deal of "taste / flavor" from start to finish -- but in my feeble mind I also see that "poof" of 'vapor' I get with some of the 'juices' I have already tried UNLESS I use the Innokin battery and fiddle with voltage setting and let it set the wattage OR I set the wattage and let it set the voltage. Is this what I might expect or am I missing an important point here??

I DO NOT see myself with a more complicated "atomizer" (drippers etc) or a massive or even smaller battery "MOD" (can I say Provari? or similar type) -- BUT it could happen. I never saw myself vaping and IT happened!

I'd hate to build my expectations on the 'juice' since this would be my FIRST TRY AT "FLAVORS" other than "STRAIGHT TOBACCO" and find I'm just out of taste buds. Either way I'm confident I'll not "smoke" - but I'd sure like to rave about something in addition to avoiding the dang things and "flavor" would be a real treat! SO SORRY to ramble on and on .......... I'll try and avoid such a thing in the future.:?::?:

There is no lacking of either flavor, vapor production or TH with most of PV/NLV liquids, even in a simple T2 top single coil atomizer. In fact, I've had nothing but excellent performance in both single coil and dual coil clearomizers.

Welcome to the NLV Village Don! I'll let Kat chime in on your post ... But ... Ahem ... Being a "mature" vaper myself ... I guarantee you will LOVE the NLV tobaccos!! :D I use almost ALL of the NLV flavors ... But GOLD, Bounty Hunter, and TwiLite are the tobaccos I use the most. You can't go wrong with any flavor from NLV! Flavor and vapor are GREAT in any topper I've used.

And Kattttttttttttt ... I feel the urge ... To spend some "Mod-A-Month" moolah ...

You just knew it was coming! LOL! A carto tank will fit on the top just fine! Something about tilting the phone to vape ... That seems appealing to me ... Since I usually have the cell phone in my hand! Ha!

What'd ya think? ;-)

It took so few words to answer my query! Thank You kindly. Value AND performance! Old Donnie can handle that all day long. I appreciate the reassurance and I shall give them a try. Nursie tells me I have a supply that is sufficient to last a good while so I had best ORDER soon; nursie is nearly as senile as me - she just gets to wear that pretty multi-colored uniform and hold my medication hostage. Sheesh ...... one time I miss a dose of anti-wacko-kinase and they think I need 'help'.

THANKS AGAIN and I gotta look into that 'phonebattamizer' - pretty slick indeed.

Senile Old Man Don

9th decade! wow you really are an old man JUST KIDDING. im really happy to see you here.

as far as the "tobacco taste" not really existing- its true. some liquids come close, but ultimately if you can satisfy yourself with a pure tobacco flavor, a flavored tobacco, or even some other flavor altogether, you'll be doing yourself a service in my opinion. the taste from a burning cigarette is complex. not only is there tobacco, but youve got burning paper and all types of other chemicals contributing to that flavor. it wont be long before you dont prefer that exact flavor, not even in the slightest. you could search around until you found a "real cigarette" flavor but by the time you found it, you might not even prefer that flavor any more.

i suggest Twilite. this is a pure fresh tobacco flavor. its clean and simple. i think youd like it, being just 61 days smoke free. i also suggest to move onto a vanilla tobacco (heavy on the vanilla, light on the tobacco), which is Bounty Hunter. Gold is fantastic if youre a maple/toffee lover. Line Rider for a nutty tobacco. Renegade for a carmel tobacco. if you like apple, go for Tapplules. and of course the Caparillo is great for a creamy coffee vape.

the reason why your thicker juices give more vapor and less flavor is because of the reason why its thick: high VG %. high PG juices will be more flavorful and less dense in the vapor category. VG carries vapor, PG carries flavor (generally speaking). we have found her ethat 65/35 seems to be the magic ratio of PG and VG.

as far as atomizers go, use what satisfies you. if youre satisfied with what youve got going (and it sounds like you are), dont mess around. vapers like myself struggled for satisfaction with traditional atomizers/cartomizers/clearomizers. they just didnt produce enough to keep my cravings sufficiently at bay. i dove into the rebuildable atomizer (RBA) world and didnt look back. this route takes much patience and unless you really need to, dont even worry about it. but if you do need to, there are many helpful videos and the hard work pays off.

same thing with batteries. if what yove got works, dont mess with success. if you feel you "need" VV/VW/big battery mods, go for it. if you feel youre getting the right amount of nicotine and so forth with what youve got, your golden.

Enjoy your vape :vapor: and thanks for joining in the discussion. stick around!

Don Robertson, super huge welcome to NLV!

Wow! How fantastic that you are in your 9th decade and have discovered vaping! From the sound of your post, you definitely have quite a bit of spunk!
Congratulations on Day 61 of tobacco combustion freedom. AWESOME.

Like so many at the beginning of this journey, it's understandable that you sought out tobacco taste, and yes, it is true that with vliquids (I don't care for the term "juice" at all) one can never capture the taste of burning leaves. There are however, some REALLY good tobacco flavors, and this is an area where NLV shines brightly.

For starters, I would highly recommend Bounty Hunter and NLV Gold and Twilite and Tappulles. All of them are EXCELLENT and variations on a tobacco based theme. None will taste like a cigarette, but my guess is you will find them all preferable to the taste of smoke! I'm also at 18mg, and for me the taste and throat hit vaping NLV is abstolutely perfect.

The amount of vapor you produce when vaping does have a bit to do with the topper (what's on top..... clearomizer, atomizer, cartomizer) but has much more to do with the amount of VG in the vliquid. With NLV's ration of 65/35, there is sufficient VG to produce a goodly amount of vapor, but certainly not for dragon clouds. Having said that, vaping NLV will give you a LOT more than a "poof" of vapor!

Most of us around here are not looking to create weather systems in our living rooms. ;)

I have a few iTaste V3s and I think they are wonderful. I've been using them for quite a long time now, and I'm impressed. They've definitely taken the place of my Ego Twists.

If you seek reliability, quality, consistency of flavor and percentages, fantastic customer service, speedy shipping, welp, you've come to the right place. NLV is one of the top vendors of all time in our community and continues to shine and draw people based on those facts. You will be pleased, and I "guarantee" that!

One of the things you mentioned was taste, and how you've found that it was there for the first few hits, then you were just 'blowing vapor'. Again, I think you will be more than pleasantly surprised to find that the flavor of every vape of NLV is completely consistent, never lacking.

To help you understand the "why" of the consistency of vliquids, it's really just what you said: It's the percentages of the VG and the PG. PG normally carries flavor very well, while VG carries the vapor. Getting just the right percentage is critical to the end result, and NLV's choice of 65/35 hit the nail on the head. Every bottle will be the same as the last, and the same as the next... always great flavor, meshed with significant vapor, and just the right amount of throat hit. (That trio is often fondly referred to as F/V/TH.)

I rarely vape on anything other than a variable voltage or variable wattage device, but there are occasions I'll pick up a 3.7v device. I find vaping NLV even with no adjustment to voltage still produces the perfect amount of vapor. I think when you try them out, you will have a blast experimenting and comparing your other liquids to NLV. To me, and to so many here, NLV just stands out from the crowd, and stands tall..... head and shoulders above the rest.

There is no reason to switch up and use a more complicated atomizer (read: rebuildable, aka RBA) if you don't want to. Your clearomizers are just fine if you enjoy them. My preference, just by the way, is ALWAYS a carto tank. It's lovely that we all get to choose what we like and the options are nearly limitless!

Welp, I must say that tho I don't know for sure if a Provari is in your future,

it's definitely a device that I'd recommend HIGHLY. There are about a bazillion threads here on ECF for your perusal if you do become interested in owning one. The Provari, to me, is a 'must have' in the arsenal.

Also, NLV carries sample 10ml bottles. I think that might be the way to go at first, to see what you like. I'm pretty sure your taste buds will approve and applaud your decisions. :)

Ramble on ANYTIME! We're all happy to have you join us here.

PS..... ya don't sound senile to ME! :D

Welcome Don Robertson.
KN_FlowerPots_Awesome_zps505b62ff.gif

Kemosabe and Katdarling have given you some excellent advice, in my opinion.

My extra 3 cents -- Keep a couple of clearomizers filled with different liquids and alternate. It's even a nice idea to have one with mint or mental (NLV Cold Creek) or NLV's Fruit 3, as it can act as a palate cleanser.

I really like the ratio of PG/VG that NLV has. I find with 50/50 or higher VG liquids I get a type of cotton mouth. Of course, your mileage may vary. :)

Weaning oneself off the cigs can be quite a journey. Here's to NLV and ECF helping you along the way.

Well Ms. Darling ... They are coming out with "Vape Cases" for a bunch of other cell phones in February (the IPhone 5 was released first) ... But I didn't see one for a "Kphone"!! Haha!

Hmmmmm ... I LIKE for when I'm sitting home with phone in hand ... Not much for out and about with a 5 ml carto tank sitting on top of my phone! LOL!! They are in the $80 - $100 range ... I'm sure prices will eventually come down. PLUS ... I found a pic of the iPhone in the case (white like mine ... Cool looking!) ... There's no protection for the iPhone screen! Looks like it just clips in there. Here's better pic .....
