Kemosabanisco, it's funny, but as I was reading your post about the size comparison between the two...... it dawned on me (ok, in truth, they both jumped out of the basket and hit me on my testa dura) that the baby Vmod takes a 14500 whilst the little 'Sticky takes an 18650!

So...... you do the math (cuz I suck at math).

Thank you hon, and yep, jazzy uppy is a good thing, and what's a little bling between friends. :D

oh wow it takes a removable battery! very cool. i thought it was an internal battery. this sweetens the pot! ive got 6 unused 18650s that still work, but arent very good for my mechs anymore.
very impressive btw that the istick takes an 18650 and still manages to be so micro-sized. well done, istick!

That would a sight wouldn't it lol. No disrespect to any Amish if any in the group or reading this.

I do not know if they own computers.....they are allowed to use electricity, but from batteries, not from outside lines....the outside lines show a connection to the outside world which is not allowed. My guess is there are no computers in the homes.....maybe used for business? They are very polite, sweet natured, people to us "outsiders". They do not seem to pass judgement. The whole center of their lives is family. Most stay under the same roof their whole lives.

Unlike at my house where I had the kids' suitcases packed to be picked up right after graduation. :D

Good morning, NLVers.......

Yes, back with cookies, fritters, and of course the caramel cinnamon donuts. And a full stomach. The Amish do know what they are doing when it comes to food. Very basic simple ingredients....much healthier than the crud our restaurants/grocery stores put out. The Amish grocery store is filled with healthy bulk items.....staples and lots of baking supplies. I loved browsing that store. Our musical show was very entertaining and the tickets included a family style dinner served table side with big dishes to pass.....fried chicken and ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans and PIE. We were all pretty miserable when we left....I only took one small helping of each item....and was in a food stupor until about midnight. Comfort food, I reckon!!:)

The gigantuous flea market covers acres and acres and consisted of a hodge podge of items....everything from fresh produce and original artwork to made in China junkie trinkets. The other ladies managed to find a treasure or two in all those stalls....I only bought a blingie hooded sweatshirt.....did not see anything that I considered a must have. I got the prize for spending the least money there. Do not ask me about my bakery bill.

This is what I spent my money on......
th

After I got home, this is what hubs left me.....:D.

th

I see Kat has been posting blingie p.v.s again.....I love seeing those. I have no bling on mine.....and do not even know how to do that. I look at those photos with fascination and an appreciative eye.

Now I must pay the piper for my fun....laundry and house chores. Hope your Thursday is better than that. :)

sounds like a great time!
my parents took me down to Amish territory when i was about 8. we took a long tour and had the chance to see many aspects of their life. the rumspringa thing really stuck with me. one thing i found odd was (considering the fact that they kept stressing that they dont use anything they dont makes themselves) the fact that they had orange reflective triangles on their buggys  howd they make those? and the footstool one amish lady showed me. it was neat- she made it by joining about half a dozen coffee cans and then wrapping the whole thing with some type of woven yarn. it looked quite inventive, but the question remains: how in the world did she make those coffee cans?? lol, i know modern day amish must "bend the rules" and accept/use certain aspects of modern society. but as a tyke, i just couldnt fathom these moral pillars of humanity blatantly breaking their rules. i thought that if i could 'poke holes' in their lifestyle at a mere 8 yrs of age, who knows what kinds of shams these people really are underneath! LMAO, i know, kinda heavy for an 8yr old, but i couldnt help it. i just didnt understand. i respected these people for remaining unchanged by modern society, but at the time, i felt that they betrayed me in some way lol.

anyway, those donuts look awesome! want.

I agree......they do seem to bend some rules to fit their agendas.....some have little "phone houses" on their properties....a little community phone building where others can come and use the phone....none are allowed in their actual homes. And they get "outsiders" to run their businesses when they become big enough to need real electrical lines and modern amenities....I do know they use washers also for laundry, but dry the clothes on the line. A lot of their appliances are run by pressured gas. They are very hard working, and certainly good business people...those communities are thriving from bringing in money from the rest of us.....I do admire them.

And the donuts are the best I have ever eaten. :)

Gorgeous dreamy pic, Glamstah! I really like that one a lot!

Your trip sounds Ab-Fab, and tho I don't indulge in the donut variety, damm those look soooooooooooooooo good!

No bling on yer mods, but ya got a blinged sweatshirt?? Yessiree (Bob)! I would LOVE a blinged sweatshirt! But I'm quite happy with the one (yes one) I own.

V8juice, a pic of all my set ups?? Yeah/no. I doubt anyone's screen is that big and it would prolly bore you to tears anyway. I think in time you may meet most of the e-fam tho. I'll do my best to intro them to you.

Kemosamapajama, I am sorry! No, the 'Schtick does not have a removable batt. It's an internal 18650 and we only know this due to the kindness of some absolutely crazed ECF'er who just HAD to take it apart (never to be reassembled again). But it's still a cool micro mini sized device just the same!

retird! Thank you so VERY much for posting this info on the Evolv DNA40 D! This is fascinating! I'm half way into the vid and just loving this info (and Brandon, of course).

So as a preliminary question, what devices have this chip, and are there any stock attIEs that are manufactured with nickel?

Oh,,, ok, just heard the answer to my first question: It's in the Vapor Flask, the Hana, the Vapor Shark, the new Opus, the "Bac" (?). And the official release is right now? 60 bucks for this chip? Not bad at tall.

Kick 3?? Hmmmm....

Oh wow!! Just got the answer to my second question! This wire will eventually be available in commercially manufactured coils like the Aspire heads?? Ok, sign me up! Love my Aspire coils in the Naughties and in the B Box.

Now, can Eleaf put this chip in the 'Schtick? Come to mamma...... wow.

And how did you like it? What was your experience with this? What device were you using? What temp did you set, and why?

Thank you again...... this is really interesting! I highly recommend everyone watch this vid if you haven't. GOOD STUFF!

Morning gal... Gotta grab my coffee.......and a vape.....

OK, to answer your question the beta testers had mods with the beta boards. The enclosures were not significant to the beta test. As you know rda's are not my thing but I grabbed a couple for the process. I put everything I had on the beta device so the toppers ranged from .19 ohm drippers to 3.0 ohm carto tanks. I settled in at about 420F on the temperature for the drippers. Temperature mode requires the nickel wire. The carto tanks/aspire BVC tanks were operated in non-temperature mode just like a dna20/30. For me I liked the aspire flavor equally to the dripper.

With that I am REALLY glad that the nickel coils will be coming for things like the Aspire.... I still like "plug and play" and "fiddle free" vaping but can also see why those who use rda's like them.

I feel this new technology can fit the desires of the many who choose to use it and the safety aspects are beneficial. Temperature protection to keep from degradation of liquid at excessive temperatures, reducing filler scorching, and controlling dry and burnt hits, I believe, is a big step in the right direction. E-liquids with temperature ranges posted on the bottle, I think, is the next step and will also be a good thing.

The technology also (within the limits specified) can be vaped from 1 watt to 40. Heck, I vaped an Aspire at 1 watt and didn't get any vapor till I got to 3 watts... so yep it has buck/boost.

The video by Brandon/pbusardo gives a lot of answers to the questions peeps will/have asked and puts to bed a lot of supposition....and this technology is but another choice to be considered.

So, at least for me, I await the nickel coils for my tanks and temperature ratings on e-liquids....and for the drippers I think they will be very pleased with the consistant vape they will get.... but as with anything new "the jury is still out" .

I reallllllllly like the idea of temperature control. I've always wondered/pondered why it wasn't being done already. I'd watch the coils on my heaters heat up knowing that I could control the fan and the temp of it and sit and ponder on it.......not really knowing how it all worked and just wondered what if.....
Brandon or John walked into my house........well.... I'd have lots of questions. ;)

wow, now that this new temperature control is out, i feel like a caveman the way i currently control temperature! until now, the only way we had to control temp was with huge air holes (or lack there of, depending on how warm you want your vape). i get cool vapor from my 3mm air hole attys, and warm/hot steam from my pinhole (~1mm hole) drippers. but now, its looking like we have quickly moved into the future of vaping! very cool (pun intended?) :2cool:
plus i'd finally have a use for all that nickel wire i bought way back and never used. dang smok TTs :glare: cant believe how much time/energy i spent on those buggers.

I'll do me best, DPL! :D

I think retird is DEFINITELY our go-to guy on this new tech.

Ok, it sounds incredible, really. Can these boards be swapped out in a mod with an existing DNA20 by chance? I believe Brandon said they were the same size, but the 40s have rails, right?

How did you come up withe the 420F for your perfect temp? (or were you temping some'em else, dude... ;))

I will definitely be watching for the nickel Aspire coils! I'm guessing they'd be fine to use on a non-DNA40 device, too?

And is this tech suitable or viable for us old skoolers? I mean, will temperature control be noticeable in a carto tank with a 3Ω coil, or a Nautilus tank with a 1.8ish ohm coil? Or is this mainly designed for high wattage vapers? What range of wattage would benefit most by using a DNA40?

red or white! love it. katty likes brando, katty likes brando! heehee

the standard wire (kanthal, nichrome) max resistance on the DNA40 is 2.0Ω as per the spec sheet.

no, you cant use nickel heads on a non-DNA40. not to my knowledge.

im thinking that yes, the DNA40 with its temperature control will indeed be usable by regular-amount-of-wattage vapers. the way brando and phil are describing it is that temp governs flavor and watts govern volume of the vapor. so you can find the *exact* correct temp for your liquid, then play with the watts as you see fit.

Right Sabs, that's how I heard it as well. My only (initial) tiny curiosity is that this might be a proprietary system in that you can't adjust to temp for liquids, unless you use the nickel wire.

I would prolly not get a DNA40 just for the wattage, that's fer sure. My DNA20s are appx. 11ish watts too much for me as it is. I can see how a higher wattage vaper would be able to use this in both modes tho.

What does this mean? "the standard wire (kanthal, nichrome) max resistance on the DNA40 is 2.0Ω as per the spec sheet." Does that mean that any commercial atty over 2.0Ω cannot be used?

Talk to me like I'm

Having said that..... who am I kidding! It sounds VERY interesting!!
