I have a Lavatube, version one. I prefer to vape at the 4.7 volt setting. My favorite juice to vape is 100% VG from AVE. I use a 3 ohm single coil cartomizer with a DCT tank. The cartomizers can be found here, Tube Tank - Refill Cartomizer. The problem is when I try to use the 100% VG juice in these cartomizers, they tend to stop working correctly after a short period of time, sometimes only one day. Anytime I have contacted customer service about this, they tell me that the cartomizers are not designed to handle any juice thicker than 20% VG. They seem to be correct as an 80% PG/ 20% VG juice works much better and the cartomizers last much longer.

I have tried using other juices and while the cartomizers work better, I have not found a juice that I like as much. I want to be able to use 100% VG juice. I fill and use the cartomizers the same way with both types of juice so I can't see how this would be user error though anything is possible.

Are these cartomizers just not suitable for 100% VG juice? Are there different ones that are? Do they need another hole punched in them? Any suggestions, advice, thoughts, etc... would be greatly appreciated as I am growing tired of trying different juices and delivery systems. I have a device, juice, and atomizer type that I love, I just can't seem to put them all together successfully.

Thanks in advance.

preachin to the choir here, i gave up and started dripping and that led to a modded atomizer tank with SS mesh. try dripping first with a cheap vision atty one of those black ones, when it gets gunky wash it out with hot water, blow dry from the connector end, and a couple quick dry burns, i've had mine for 6 months now without a prob. I wonder what the folks at AVE use to vape their own product? has anyone called and asked them, i would like to know.

You probably need to drip into an atomizer if you want to use vg 100% .. I use rebuilables now. Never really liked cartos.. They mask the taste too much for me. And don't like the filler material. Try a few 510 LR atties.. See how you like the difference. Get a drip tip or two also to make dripping easy.. Just a few drops of juice now and then into the atty will satisfy your desires. Then work up to a rebuildable atty/ They cant be beat..

I dripped with regular attys for a long time. Started exploring other options for the ease of less filling. I drive 58 miles (total) to and from work each day so dripping in the car is a problem.

@windozehater- What is a modded atomizer tank with SS mesh? Can you provide more information or a link please?

@doots- Wouldn't a LR atty not perform well at 4.7 volts? When you say rebuildable atty do you mean something like the Vivi Nova? I tried that and it wasn't satisfactory in the vapor production or throat hit departments. If you mean something different, could you provide more information or a link please?

@Vapoor eyes er & RosaJ- If I'm not making my own juice, wouldn't cutting the juice with distilled water reduce the volume of nicotine and flavor?

I think the rebuildables he is talking about are genesis style type rebuildable like the Zenesis, DID, Bliss, Cobra, etc. etc.

Other types of rebuildables would be Odysseus and Penelope. Maybe not the solutions you are looking for (costwise) but I will leave that for you to decide.

If you keep the distilled water down around the 10% mark it shouldn't affect the flavor too much. Add just enough until it thins out a bit, then try it. Keep doing that until it is thin enough but don't add much more than 10% but you might be able to get away with a bit more.

Are you sure you had a genuine Vivi Nova? There are a lot of us using them, and I've been completely satisfied with mine. If anything, they are better a vapor production and throat hit than a carto, IMO.

Some people buy imitation Vivi Nova's - either by mistake or to try to save a few bucks. The imitations give people all sorts of problems.

Maybe you should look into rebuildables. There are some inexpensive options out now such as the DID clone which there are a lot of co-ops for for around $10. They work great and you don't have to drip or worry about cartos which I gave up long ago. Here is what the DID clone looks like. Genesis atomizers also give better flavor than anything I have ever tried to use. I thought the Vivi Novas were terrible along with any of the CE style atties. If you are willing to spend a little more money all the atomizers nebulas mentioned are very good too.
