Hey y'all, I joined this forum because I figured I'd tap into the bountiful fountain of knowledge that is the internet. My first post is both a friendly hello and also a request for some advice.
The setup I'm currently using in an IPV4 (non-updated) and either a Kanger subtank mini, Mutation X V4, or a Tugboat V2, and I'm in the market for a smaller, less powerful box. After posting in a classifieds forum I've got it down to two choices.
1. Zero Modz clone, with the original board replaced with an authentic DNA30 chip.
or
2. Custard Mods Aries Mini, SX350 chip upgraded to 60W.
Both mods have been lightly used and are fully functional. I'd love to hear what anyone has to say about either of these mods, either from experience or inference.
Much love
Although I have no experience with either I can see your dilemma. To help you come to a decision I think the best way is to find out a bit more of what you are looking for (specifics) and start a check list. Lol I know you are looking for a smaller box and both fit that requirement rather well. However, are aesthetics important, do you want it to work well with all your tanks, do you mainly use your RDA's or your tank?
Aesthetics: Aesthetically the Zero wins hands down, it's a very nice looking box mod and one of the nicer looking mods out there, plus it's very customizable with all the battery cover options out there. Now the Aries I know of looks rather plain and far less ergonomic. With a quick search I noticed Custard Mods has some beta products on the way with what looks like interchangeable parts so the unappealing aesthetics may be able to be change rather soon.
Performance: like I mentioned earlier I have not tried either, but I have heard a ton of praise for the Zero, and nothing for the Aries. Having said that, the aries doubles the Zero's power so if you want to use that Kanger you can do so at an enjoyable wastage level. The Zero, however, won't be able to put out enough power at 30w for sub tank. Some people like a lol wattage on a sub tank, but I am not one of them. Lol now the rest of your atty's are RDA's so wattage power won't be as much of a factor. Of course you could always look into a small 18350 mechanical mod for your RDA's, I own and love Calvert Mod clone by infinite, ss simple and has an amazing magnetic button feature that I think is outstanding all for $20.
Conclusion, generally I lean toward the choice that can do more but in this case I'd have to say Zero Mod, I've actually been telling myself I don't need it for months so I don't buy it lol if you still can't decide maybe try looking at some 18350 box mods, there are some sweet ones out there. Good luck bro, vape on!
Side note: If you're not dead set on the dna 30 chip you can get a zero mod clone for around $70 and it has 60w and temp control.
